Friendly hosts. Tasty breakfast. Beautiful downstairs decorations. One block off of the downtown square with lots of food, history, and shops nearby. We stayed in the Lily room and the bed was comfortable, jacuzzi tub was huge, and the fireplace made it cosy.

A comfortable, pleasantly appointed home just yards from the center of Gettysburg. Convivial hosts, superb breakfast, a beautiful garden, nicely appointed rooms with comfortable beds, plush towels. High point of our visit was the breakfast each morning, with delicious poached eggs, pumpkin smoothies, and smoked bacon. Wood floors in many of the rooms toward the front of the house, modern(unremarkable) carpeting in the rest. It’s not like staying in a museum, much more like a home — livable, not overdone. Their website indicates one room, off the beautiful garden, is accessible. The others are up at least one flight of stairs. Rooms in the rear have direct access through glass doors to a south balcony overlooking the garden. The owners might add a star with real instead of gas fireplaces and period carpets, but that would certainly up the costs and increase the room rates. Fine just as it is, a superb place to stay in a wonderful, historic town.
