Meh. I’ve experienced better indeed… Up the block and to the right, the gelato is spot on @DOPPIO Artisan Gelato and Pizza, which can be found off the Avenue and to third left on Elm st.(about a several minute walk from Daniella’s Gelateria with CHEAPER prices too!!!) One day I was tempted to try Daniella’s Gelato, well what did I find?! An inconsistent mixture with huge chunks of ice, do the paste, cream and other various ingredients just mix themselves together ?! After spending 5 minutes to make up for the lack of mixing I achieved the creamy, paste like consistency you look for in appropriately made gelato… In my frustrations I sought after the closest gelato placed determined to suppress my urges for some solid Gelato! This is where I discoverd Doppio Artisan Gelato and Pizza, after speaking with the owners they gave all the praise to their uncle Vincenzo who has owned a Gelato place in Calabria Italy for over 30 years and taught them to make this frozen treat. If you want to have a piece of uncle Vincenzo’s Recipe straight from Calabria, Italy you probably wanna go up the block to Doppio, or across town to bliss. Granted some small restaurants may have ice chunks and an inconsistent mixture in their gelato’s at times thats understandable; but when the catalyst of you business is Gelato ?! Thats just unacceptable. Sorry to say it they have a good product if they’d just mix it together, maybe it was an off day I’ll go back and try this place again because I do see its potential.

I really wanted to like this place since the aroma of coffee and waffle cones is intoxicating. But the gelato just didn’t live up. There were icey chips in my tiramisu and pistachio scoops. Maybe I’ll try it again and see if it was an off day? My fave in Greenwich is Bliss on the bridge between Riverside and Cos Cob.

Nice place to stop by when you need a break from shopping in Greenwich. I feel like this is one of the few places to grab a snack, as most of the food establishments I saw down Greenwich Ave seem to be sit down restaurants. It’s a cozy place, with a few stools that you can sit on near the front, in the sunlight. In addition to gelato, they also have assorted baked goods and cakes. I tried the tiramisu gelato, and I was pleasantly surprised! It had a very rum-my taste. However, I didn’t find it mind-blowing, and at $ 4.80 for a small cup, it’s a bit pricey. Considering it’s one of the few casual places to grab food, I can see how it generates a lot of foot traffic and how it can charge that much. And yes, I know… It’s Greenwich. At least the people were nice, and the gelato wasn’t horrible. Still, not a place I would go out of my way for. Simply, A-OK for me.

I have tried almost every flavor here from nutella to pistachio to hazlenut(they have two types — one with nuts and one where the nuts are very fine) to blood orange and coconut. Also, they have a special 4 berry Daniella’s Gelato that is delicious and very popular. The store also makes fresh waffle cones on the spot and like the other reviewer said, it really sucks you in. It smells so good!!! You could also bring it home and definitely worth it. We took a whole one home, went out to dinner(in the summer) and the gelato was still cold — that’s how well they package it. So far, it’s the best gelato I have had and I love the décor!!!(even the bathroom’s nice)

Ive been to Italy 5 times in my life and there is no doubt this Gelato is real deal. The Nocciola is my favorite but the fragola is next in line. If you are a fan of authentic italian food, make this your next stop in Greenwich.

The gelato here is definitely amazing! Very creamy, and prepared to perfection! The only complaint I have is that I was rung up by a child. I did not see any adults in there, only two kids. It was a bit odd!

My mouth is watering as I write this. The Gelato here is the real deal, creamy and just sweet enough. The smell of the waffle cones being made as you walk by is heavenly, that’s what sucked us in. We adored that there is little white haired Italian speaking gentlemen making these waffle cones right there as you wait in line. We tried the Vanilla, nutella and pistachio-each was as amazing as the next. Naturally the cones were awesome too and still a little warm! The small cup I got went a long way and I could barely finish it. A nice treat to enjoy while shopping on Greenwich Ave.

Great gelato and sorbet, and the waffle cones are homemade to boot! Really nice and crunchy. This is one of those little local places that just sprung up and its totally worth supporting. The owners are also real nice, offering samples of everything! Their stuff hits the spot after a little stroll down the Avenue.
