Perhaps the staff were fatigued after the holidays? I was pretty surprised by how terse everyone was at this location. I don’t need attitude, I’ll go somewhere else.

I would like to say that I had a good experience coming in here, being the art nerd that I am. But to be honest, my loyalty lies with Craft Warehouse. Better attitude, and better selection. I just don’t get a helpful vibe in here at all. I DID find what I was looking for, but it felt like pulling teeth to get it out of the locked area and paid for, and the demeanor of the guys who work here is off-putting. My community of art-folks, be it crafty découpage folks, knitters, painters, or prisma nerds like myself, only want to push one another forward and be helpful. If you’re going to work at an art/craft store, act like the people who come in here. If you have no shared/common interest, at least learn to fake it and hide your disenchantment with your job just a bit better. I get that retail can be hard, but not my circus, not my monkeys. Show up and act like you’re not a douche, please. Craft warehouse is full of enthusiastic artists, or at least full of helpful people who enjoy watching those creations take place. I cannot speak for all Michaels, but this one fails by my standard where service is involved, and I will only go here if CW absolutely does not have what I need from now on.

Will never go back!!! I went into this location for the first time to purchase some scrapbooking necessities. They were very busy & there was a long line at the register.(Which I was at the front of) when I went to checkout an item I had chosen rang up $ 19.99 instead of the posted price of $ 9.99. Not only did the ad lost it at $ 9.99, but there were also signs saying so. I asked the cashier about it who asked another employee. The other employee was SO incredibly rude. She told me I was a liar & nowhere did it say that much. I tried showing the ad to her which was sitting in my cart & she told me very blatantly that I was wrong & that there were paying customers behind me. Even without that particular item my total was well over $ 40. Worst service ever. I refuse to shop at this location again. It was extremely embarrassing.

Went here tonight looking for some items for a project. They had very little help on the floor available. Found an associate named Whitney and she walked with us and personally recommended 4 items. She was awesome. Would definitely return.

Tonight’s experience at this Michaels has been the worst ever. I tried to exchange a $ 6 dollar item. Never ever did I have problems exchanging something but I guess there is a first for everything. This store wouldn’t take the item back because all I had on me was my resident alien card. Now I had to go back home to get a passport. Lucky me that I have a current one. All this hassle for $ 6. Hope it was worth it to this store to loose a customer over this little amount!!!

It is that time of year I hit Michaels more than usual, with Halloween approaching, so much to do, so little time. They have a huge Halloween section in Gresham. I like this location, it is easy to find what I need, compared to the one on 82nd in Clackamas, that seems like it has super tight isles and the lines there are always long. I should say they have been getting like that at this Michaels lately, now. Prices here are average of a craft store and the coupons they let you use on your smart phone are so handy, since I forget to clip mine most of the time.
