Hakim was very helpful in replacing my tenant’s water heater. I called late afternoon – tenant didn’t call until close to end of business day – and they showed up for the replacement at 9 AM!
What was also very appreciated is that Hakim and his technician handled the work without me needing to be on site. Although he could have charged for extra services since I wasn’t there, he only did what was necessary and explained this to me over the phone after a visual inspection and prior to the replacement.
My tenant was also very pleased and called me at the completion of the job to tell me how wonderful they were.

Called these guys last friday morning regarding a water heater I suspected popped the tank. I wanted to replace the thermo couple to see if that was the issue. The guy who answered the phone was super polite and was able to answer all of my questions, I later texted him a photo of the unit and he stated honestly that he was unable to fix it without parts from the manufacturer. Later when I told him about all of the water that was draining into the burner plate and he confirmed my worst nightmare. The tank had ruptured. He gave me a great quote on repairs and a timeline. Unfortunately my landlord decided to use another service. But all in all I had a great interaction with this company.

Holy crap! Thanks Unilocal!Came out cranky after a freezing shower, tried to relight pilot on a water heater, and yup… it was dead. To Unilocal I turned! This was the top listing and the first company I called. Hakim is the business owner and is a really personable, patient guy to talk to. I also called four more Unilocal listings and this business came out to be about 15−30% cheaper than the other companies I called.
So check this out… I called him at about 8:30 Saturday night (last night) and it is now 10:15 Sunday morning and I am already writing this review because Francisco came, Francisco went, & Francisco delivered! Fast, courteous, clean, great service. Highly recommended. Look forward to a hot shower tonight again. Highly recommended.

I want to thank Hakim, owner, and Abel for an exceptional job. I called this morning when my I realized that my gas water heater had a leak. Our garage had wall damage and many storage items on the floor were soaked. Even with a full day of appointments, Hakim was patient and very accommodating. He knew how important it was for my family to have hot water. He signed up for a 5 – 7 appointment. We agreed he would call me 45 mins before arrival. He gave a very competitive quote for my 50 gallon heater and took an additional $ 75 off due to mentioning Unilocal.He arrived on time with Abel, part of his crew. 1^st impression was very good as Hakim is very friendly, articulate, and willing to answer any questions I had. He immediately assessed that it was a slow leak that has been transpiring for some time. He noted the heavy mold from water damage on the wall, wood platform, and to the gas pipes. He offered to treat the mold with Clorox and replace the wood platform and pipe for free if we bought the parts. He was concerned about my family’s well-​being and safety, especially with the corroded gas pipe. We ran to Lowe’s and bought the parts.
Hakim and Abel had meticulous attention to detail and explained every step of the job and how the heater worked. After skillfully installing my new Bradford White heater and removing my old A.O. Smith one, they carefully replaced the rotted parts and treated the whole area for mold. They noted how the original installation of my heater did not meet codes and they proceeded to secure the heater with 2 metal belt straps and place the heater atop a large metal tray. They also built a wooden extension to the rotted wooden platform to better support the tray and heater.
WOW! Talk about pride and ownership in what you do! Talk about caring about the quality work you offer your customers! After 3 hours of painstaking attentive workmanship, they completed the job and hauled my old unit away. They also left the work area very clean and tidy… unlike how they found it. Even with all the additional things they did, they stuck to their quoted price on the phone. I appreciate Hakim’s integrity and sticking to his word. Since they missed dinner and worked late, I insisted on treating them to a great local Taqueria as a show of gratitude. Hakim and his team are true professionals and put the needs of the customers first. They know and understand that great, honest, and thorough workmanship will pay back dividends in having customer loyalty and many future referrals. Thank you, Hakim and Abel, for enabling me to have a wonderful, hot shower tonight and clean dishes again!

Yes really 5 stars to This business. They really treat you like they are family! Not only did they replace the water heater with the corrected size but they did so in a very timely matter and cleaned up well! Then they checked all the faucets to make sure they were operating properly! We had problems with our Kitchen faucet which was clogged up with funk! They spent a lot of time trying to fix the existing faucet which unbelievably refused to operate! Soooo they came back the next day and installed a new faucet elbows etc. and assured me that they would not leave until «they» were satisfied… Who does that these days? They didn’t have to but they did it and we had a great time with the accomplishment and truly enjoyed making us happy and satisfied… bottom line they gave me an estimate and didn’t raise it even when it was obvious they had much more time in than they expected! These guys are more than Honest and will remain good friends of ours!

The day before a big Superbowl party over my house our water heater practically blew up. I was sure that any emergency repairs would be a rip off. Instead, a friend recommended Hotter Water Heaters. I managed a large client services office for 10 years and know the difference between good and GREAT service. Hakim came out same day, did an awesome job, cleaned up the area and left it way better than it was before he came and charged me $ 75.00 LESS than he quoted me for new heater! Hakim told me to buy extra beer for the party with it!!!

Excellent service! I’d recommend hotter water heater to everyone out there needed help. My hot water heater broke over the weekend, first I found one hot water heater company and they quoted me over $ 2000 then when I spoke to Hakim at hotter water heater company he came into my house help me replaced a new one for less than $ 1500 but most importantly the job was done professionally and the service was awesome. By the way, thanks for helping me get the door fixed.

Outstanding service. The owner Hakim arrived on time and completed the job. Very honest and straightforward guy. My new 50 gallon hot water heater was completed in about 2 hours and for the exact amount he quoted by phone. His install was very thorough and professional. I shopped around for two weeks for quotes and advice on which water heater to buy, both from water heater only installers, and from Lowe’s who contracted it out to a plumber. Hakim was patient with my questions and came in with the best price and service! Replacement was done in two hours. I cannot thank Hakim and his assistant Gus enough! Called based on excellent previous reviews. Got a quote that was comparable with other «bargain» businesses. Hakim arrived at time promised. He was friendly, easy to talk to, explained everything as he was going, and knowledgeable — very professional. Work was done in under 2 hours. Despite ancient existing equipment, Hakim replaced everything with new parts and brought all up to code. Upon completion, area was left cleaner than it was originally. Most satisfying was fact that he did not nickel and dime — final price was that originally quoted — no hidden costs. After years of using Unilocal,this is first time I felt compelled to write a review. This business lives up to all the previous 5 stars given… including mine.

I woke up this morning and discovered I had a major leak in my hot water tank. I was in a rush with work and called Hotter Water Heaters and spoke to Hakim and he was able to schedule same day service. He scheduled a 2 – 4 pm time slot and actually called me earlier and was able to start at 1:15. We had a vert tight space to work In and Hakim was able to come up with a very good decision to minimize my costs as this was a tough situation.
Hakim and his partner were outstanding to work with and went way over and above the call of duty. Very professional and fantastic to deal with. They worked at a fast and steady pace with great detail to getting the job done right. they cleaned up well at end of project and left the house in very clean condition. Called them on Friday night around 7pm for replacement of a leaking water heater. Agreed on a price including water heater unit, supplies, tax and labor. Scheduled to have it replaced the next day at 12pm.
Francisco showed up at my door 5 mins before our appointment time and started to work. He went over a few things with me and told me I could sit back and relax and it would be done in 2 hours. Well, it took way less than that. It was done in an hour and the job was done professionally. Francisco then walked me over the warranty as well as operation of the heater. The best part is that unlike other companies, they did not change their agreed upon price on the phone.
Well, my water heater was leaking on Friday. By Saturday afternoon, I had already received a replacement and hot water was running again!

I am really satisfied with the work this company has done for our water heater replacement. They came immediately on the day when my 18-​year old water heater finally gave way. Their price is very reasonable and the quality of work is outstanding! They brought and installed a new water heater on my property and installed it up to code and they were done in 2 hours! I’m so glad I called this company and not the other one.

Our 15 year old water heater went out and called 2 vendors. Of the two Hakim with Hotter Water Heaters was the most helpful providing information, options and competitive PRICING!
We ended up getting a Vertex GDHE-​50 which provides a high efficiency and high recovery 129 gallons, 100,000 BTUs an advanced heat exchanger design.

Our unusual water heater (it also provides hot water to heat our condo) went out just before our Oscar party, and our HOA directed us to the large local plumbing firm that does all the work for the Association. That firm said they were too busy to do anything for at least a week and the cost would be several thousand dollars but may be more. After waiting a couple days without hot water someone told us to call Hotter Water Heaters.
Hakim and HWH took fast and excellent care of us. He grew up in Palo Alto and knows we’re not all wealthy here. Francisco came out the next day, swapped out the unit, replaced the pan, hoses, etc. and cleaned up fully. All this for far less than the big plumber had wanted.
We’re huge fans. Call HVH if you have an issue with your water heater.

Like most of the stories here we discovered a busted water here first thing in the morning. Purchased a Kenmore water heater at Sears (we also looked at Home Depot and they had the lower end Rheem models) and we initially also purchased their installation service which was through a company called «All Valley Plumbing».
We’ve used «All Valley» once before so to be fair I don’t have any issues with them even though they have very low ratings, however, Sears charges an insane amount for installation now ($ 400) plus other items they needed to do when they got here.
I had them leave the water heater and called Sears to refund my money. I called Hotter Water Heaters and they did it for less and their work was pristine. Francisio came out and he wiped down my walls, the floors and he even put together this new stand I bought to replace the wooden one which will eventually rot.
He got down in just over an hour and took my old water heater plus the old wood stand. He was professional, friendly, and just did fantastic work. I couldn’t have been happier with Francisio’s service.
Also, I have to mention that I left a message for Hotter Water and they called me back and scheduled my appointment on the same day. The service all around was just excellent. At a frustrating and unexpected time like this, good service makes all the difference in the world.

Being a regular Unilocaler, calling services with five stars review is automatic. Called around noon, Hakim picked up his phone with no delay, he asked me a few questions about the leak and instantly offered me both quotes on repair (if it is repairable) and replacement, and the quotes are very reasonable. Hakim quickly informed me that their next available appointment will be between 4 — 5 p.m.
At 4 o’clock sharp, Francisco and the other technician showed up at my doorstep! I like people being on time, it’s a huge plus. Both are extremely nice and friendly, they are very knowledgeable of what they are doing and explained to me that a new water heater is needed. The entire replacement job is done in less than two hours. Within the same day, my broken water heater is gone, and I gotta enjoy a hot shower as usual. Thanks Hotter Water Heaters!

Our water heater died and I spent the better part of three days ringing around and getting all the usual antics from contractors.
* Wanting to charge a fee to tell me that my water heater is broken
* Saying they’ll be there at 9am and showing up at 4pm
* Quoting me a price over the phone then doubling it on site
* Telling me things need replacing when they don’t (I’m not a noob)
I’m not an unrealistic guy — I accept that there are sometimes other things that need fixing/​replacing in order to meet code or simply due to wear and tear, but I wasted three days off work dealing with people who assumed I was ignorant.
Frustrated to all hell, I came across Hotter Water Heaters by pure chance and spoke with Hakim at 430pm. He was straight forward, helpful, patient, and eager to win my business. I appreciated his no BS attitude and transparency.
They were also 45% cheaper than Home Depot, and a bunch of other notable local/​Bay Area hot water firms, and insisted there were no hidden extras. I expected something, but nope, they stuck to their price.
Only 1.5 hours later at 6pm (yes, you read that right), his equally helpful installer, Francisco was on my doorstep. He took a few moments to check it out, agreed on the prognosis and said «Give me 1 – 2 hours and you’ll have hot water again.»
Within 1.5 hours, he had installed the new one, removed the old one, installed a new drip tray, new flex hoses, and took care of fine details from sweeping out the cupboard to ensuring his work was neat and showing me how the system works.
I’ve dealt with a lot of contractors over the years, and I used to work in air conditioning installation (so have been a contractor myself.) It’s a real pleasure and a big sigh of relief to find the rare company and team who just ‘get it’. Who can be straight forward, show up on time, get the job done well, respect the customer’s time, house, and stress, and focus more on helping them solve their problem rather than trying to make more up-​sells.
It’s a no brainer and there’s a reason why they have a 5 star Unilocal rating.

The pros: fast, good installation, work on weekends.
The cons: way, way too expensive for a mediocre product.

When my parent’s water heater broke and was leaking water all over the garage, I had to call around to find a water heater replacement. I called Sears and Home Depot and both locations told me the earliest they can come out was in 2 days! Due to the emergency of the water leaking, we couldn’t wait 2 days.
When I called Hotter Water Heater at 4:30pm stating that I needed someone to come out the same day, they told me they would call me back to see if this can happen. About 5 minutes later, they called me back to inform me that they can be at my parents house within an hour! I was so relieved. They even gave me the cost over the phone, so I can relay this information to my parents.
Hotter Water Heaters has amazing service, too. Francisco (the service guy) showed up within 30 minutes. My parents and I were so surprised that he arrived earlier than expected, but we were truly grateful. He knew immediately what to do. He helped remove and dispose of our old water heater. Francisco did a great job installing the new water heater. Its great how he explained the new system to my parents and me. Francisco showed us the new water valve and gas valve. He also showed us how to turn them on and off in case of an emergency. I really appreciate how Francisco was patient with me and my parents when we were asking him a lot of questions.
Overall, I’m glad we went with Hotter Water Heater! Now I know who to recommend if someone needs their water heater replaced. Thank you again Francisco and Hotter Water Heater for coming out immediately!

Ugh water heater died Saturday evening. I called several companies before I got to these guys. The guy over the phone gave me the lowest quote and the best warranty. So I said what the heck why not. I made an appointment for Sunday morning. They arrived promptly at 9. The service tech was great. He got finished within 2 hours! After all done he cleaned everything up and removed the old water heater. I totally recommend these guys for any water heater issues!
