I recently tried Showboy Bake Shop for the first time. Like many others, I’ve had Freed’s pushed down my throat and for years neglected to try any other bakery. On a whim, I decided to try Showboy and ordered a custom baby reveal cake. It was wonderful to walk into the store and be greeted immediately, and attended to within minutes. The service was excellent. I went in having a pretty good idea of what I wanted. They respected my requests and made thoughtful suggestions. I was able to try a few different flavors of frosting before selecting what I wanted. The cake was ready when expected. Looked gorgeous and tasted even better. Super moist and full of flavor — lemon cake with champagne frosting tasted just how you’d imagine. And when we cut the cake there was no denying I’m having a boy! Bright blue cake. None of that questionable frosting color. The entire cake was blue. Loved it!

Love! So delicious! I have seen this place all over and I’m so glad to know it’s as good as it is made out to be!

I’ve always wanted to try this place out. I saw the great reviews on Unilocal months ago. I finally got the chance last week when I was in the area. I purchase 4 different flavored cupcakes. They were all delicious especially the lemon and coconut ones. I’ve wanted to taste a few before ordering my baby’s first bday cake from them. The decorated cakes or samples that were displayed were very beautiful and skillful. Yeah I think I’ll order a custom cake from them. I was told a small 8″ custom cake was about $ 120. Cream cheese frosting may be cheaper than the fondant.

Honestly, the cakes and frostings are terribly over sweet! We got 6 cupcakes, so we were able to compare bites of different flavors. Not our favorite at all. Everything is unfortunately way too food colored, very sweet, and extremely artificial tasting the overly huge mound of frosting was just a waste. The staff was nice, but the product is not my taste.

Long on my Henderson ‘to do’ list with interest stoked by recent praise from a friend who used the bakery to craft a special event cake, it was just after 3:00pm on Saturday afternoon that a stop was made at Showboy Bakeshop, the small stripmall space all decked out in spooky skeletons, spiders, and pirates for the upcoming Halloween holiday with a bright eyed middle-​age clerk happy to chat and recommendations not for lack.
Voted «Best of Las Vegas» by The Review-​Journal and featuring the baked goods of former Strip performer Stephen Lowry while partner Jared Sullivan puts his management studies from UNLV to good use in running the shop, those visiting Showboy for the first time are likely to be impressed by the attention to detail in everything from presentation to decoration, over a dozen varieties of cupcakes routinely offered while fancy custom cakes build the fortress atop a semicircular counter behind glass.
Certainly a ‘locals only’ sort of place, the Anthem Village Drive address several miles from any sort of tourist destination worth mention, it was after some discussion with staff about recommendations as well as personal preferences that eight items were selected, the $ 18.25 total not exactly a deal considering the fact that most of the items, at least by modern standards, trend petite.
Taking the boxed and bagged goods elsewhere for enjoyment, the small table at Showboy pretty enough though awkward in full view of the room, it was with a quartet of cookies that tasting soon commenced and although the cream-​filled Red Velvet sandwich was soft and pleasant with the white chocolate chips adding nuance, the rest of the $ 1.25-each trio unfortunately offered little in terms of moistness, the peanut butter particularly inedible without a beverage though the pumpkin did at least offer a nice bit of spice.
Expecting a bit more from cupcakes, the store proudly displaying Food Network credentials on a poster near the door, it was admittedly a difficult process narrowing ‘wants’ to just four selections and balancing personal tastes with supposed ‘best sellers’ both the Red Velvet and Dark Chocolate «Show Off» featured a moist base beneath smooth frosting, the same not to be said of the eponymous Marble Cake that was again far to dry while «Wonderland» made me wonder why anyone would ruin such a good carrot cake with notes of Sunny-​D.
** Unquestionably living up to its name, the showmanship evident in everything from the store’s layout to exquisite cake designs, Lowry’s self-​training is unfortunately evident in hit-​and-​miss execution with the desert dryness doing several items no favors and unnecessary flights of whimsy occasionally getting in the way.

This is the only place I will go to get a custom cake made!!! The owners are very nice and pay attention to detail. They take pride in their work, and well… They should because it is always delicious!!! They have cupcakes ready to eat while you make your custom cake decisions. You can come in with specifics for a cake, or tell them to take the wheel! Either way, I have never been disappointed. Jared and Steven are great!!!

I’ve gone to this bake shop twice, once for my sons 6^th birthday party, and another for my daughters baptism and it was amazing! The presentation of the cake is beautiful and the flavor is amazing. Perfect amount of moisture and fluff. I will remain a loyal customer and come here for all my baked goods!

A whimsical little cupcake shop on a hill in Anthem. They have colorful desserts like cupcakes, cake pops, bars, etc.
I’ve picked up a few cupcakes here and I’ve also asked them to customize cupcakes for me which looked amazing! I must say there are flavors they do well and others that I’ve had better elsewhere.

I like banana bread and cupcakes a lot. I had high hopes for their Banana Bell Bundy but I was disappointed. It tasted artificial and candy-​like. It was bright yellow on the inside. I wish they used real bananas instead of extract.

After my fiancé surprised me with these lil beauties, I am now more addicted to cupcakes than ever!!! Quality like no where else in vegas — they are small & pricey but totally worthy of the cost– it’s probably a good thing or I’d end up 300 lbs! Oink!

Wow! a co-​worker brought in an unsuspecting box of cupcakes but when I opened it, I understood it wasn’t just ordinary cupcakes. I only had one but it was delicious. It had a perfect amount of frosting, sprinkles, and a little surprise inside. It was filled with a cherry filling.
It had to be one of the most amazing combinations of flavors I have ever had in a cupcake. I can’t wait to get my own box of cupcakes!

My friend and I are trying every cupcake shop in Vegas, and this is our sixth place. I know we have many more to go, but this place is amazing and in first place. The cupcakes were incredibly moist and not too rich. I loved The Headliner. It was simple, yet delicious. My next favorite was Some Enchanted Cupcake. It was coconut key lime flavored. It was more coconut, though and less key lime; however, that didn’t bother me. The only negative for this place, and for me it’s HUGE, is it’s all the way in Anthem, and I live in the Centennial Hills area. Maybe they can open one up north.

I have a new FAVORITE BAKERY for cakes.

I ordered a half sheet specialty cake for a retirement party. I placed the order 6 days in advance and they did a Beautiful job! The artwork was exactly what I’d hoped for. The cake itself was so delicious, moist, chocolatey and everyone loved it !
Half sheet was $ 100 but in my opinion, worth it.
I loved how extremely friendly everyone was.
The owner is ON site making sure everything is perfect.
I am returning for sure.

Probably one of the best cupcakes I’ve ever tasted! I got the director, red carpet, and cookies and green and they were all so delicious! The cakes and frostings were a perfect level of sweetest and the flavor was right on point! I just wish it wasn’t so far and deep into anthem but I would definetly be back!!! I loved the glitter and décor of the cupcakes as well!

My family was in the area and we never pass a good bakery without trying at least one item. This has been on my ‘must try’ list for quite some time, especially after seeing them on Cupcake Wars.
Between the 4 of us, we had: PB cookie, butterscotch cookie, Mint Chocolate cupcake, PB Chocolate cupcake, Funfetti cake pop, chocolate cake pop & chocolate chip cookie sandwich with cream cheese filling.
WOW.
The cupcakes were moist and delicious, with just the right amount of frosting. The frosting? AMAZING. The mint frosting and the PB frosting were both just the right amount of sweet, and complimented the chocolate cake perfectly.
The cookies were soft and chewy and packed with flavor. Absolutely perfect taste and bake time.
The cake pops were delicious.
The cookie sammich? delectable.
Most times when I head to the register with this amount of items, I’m expecting to pay around $ 20. I was pleasantly surprised when my total was less than $ 15. The best part? Every single thing we tried was absolutely worthy of us coming back.
The items were pleasing to the taste buds, and the décor and music were pleasing to the eye and the ears as well. Lit up like a broadway show, and show tunes playing, the modern and classy décor, and the amazing cakes they have previously created displayed throughout the place.
I’ve found a new favorite spot! It’s so good that I just may break out in a Broadway song and dance!
