I came here maybe an hour before closing and of course I assumed they weren’t going to take me like most salons in my area but they were so courteous. took me right away for a gel manicure and it came out beautiful!!! By far best gel manicure ive gotten also prices cant be beat. Service was done in maybe 20 minutes. I will definitely be returning

Just left the place had the worst Pedi ever. the young lady rubbed my feet with what was not even a stone and when I asked her to do it again she said no. would never go back. very clean but not a good pedi

So, I’m new to the area and have been on quite the quest for a regular nail salon. This Sunday, I tried out Bloom for a mani/​pedi. Will NOT return.
The good:(1) prices — I paid $ 28 for a regular manicure and pedicure which you can’t really beat. (2) massage chairs — are crack/​cocaine. I put them on repeat several times to let that thing work out some major kinks in my back and neck. Bonus: the chair even massages the back of your head! (3) cleanliness — the materials are presumably autoclaved and the surfaces are clean.
The bad: (1) nail polish selection — now, please bear in mind that this review is for a regular manicure/​pedicure and not gel. Their gel selection seemed decent and it seemed to me that they’d abandoned the regular polishes to keep current on the gel. But, the regular polish was old and leaned more toward dark colors despite this being the summer time. (2) cleanliness — yes, I mentioned cleanliness as part of my good but it’s included here as well because (a) I never saw them wipe down the foot basins after a pedicure and (b) there was an autoclave on the premises but I don’t recall seeing them remove tools from it.
The ugly: the actual manicure and pedicure — I walked out looking like a 5 year old painted my nails and toes. the polish was all over my cuticles and even on my finger/​toe tips. VERY bad paint job, I could’ve done better blindfolded.
If you’re absolutely desperate for a manicure and can’t find any place else that is open, then go. Otherwise, shell out a little more cash for a proper job.

Went in here around 6:30 pm on a Thursday. I noticed how nice and clean the salon was, and there were about maybe three or four customers so not too crowded. I was greeted nicely by the lady who asked me what I wanted and to go pick a color. I must say this the quickest salon I’ve ever been too. The pedicure I got was great and took about 15 min. Then I got an acrylic set which usually take hours but the guy I had was clearly a pro. Took about 40 min to finish which is fast to me for acrylic processes. Overall I was very happy with this place and being that it was my first time, they have 20% off for new customers. They also have great deals ! Friendly staff, no wait, and a clean salon !

I’ve been searching for a nail salon a while trying to find a manicurist that would give me the look I was going for. I like my nails long and pointy, EXTRA pointy. But all the previous nail salons I’ve been to kept my tips a little too tame for my liking. The manicurist who did my nails (an older gentlemen) gave me the talons I’ve been dreaming of! I’ve finally found my go to nail salon!

My nails were done by Sue and they were the bumpiest, ugliest nails I’ve ever gotten in my entire life. The top of my nails were so much wider than my nail bed, it looked like I asked for triangular shaped nails. I asked her to file down the sides and she used a small file for natural nails on acrylic nails! She needed to use the electric file, but she acted like she couldn’t understand me when I suggested that. I eventually went home and filed my own nails into the shape that I wanted. The only good thing I can say is that their pedicures are decent. I came back the next day for a pedicure because I don’t have a car and my choices are limited. The pedicure turned out fine and they have a special for $ 20 pedicure M-​Th ($ 30 for gel polish).

I HIGHLY recommend that folks check this place out! I stopped in yesturday afternoon and received a phenomenal mani + pedi, plus a soothing leg massage at Bloom Nails – all for $ 30. The staff was very welcoming, and the facilities were very clean. I especially appreciated the degree of attention I received during my visit. I get the impression that they’re not too busy during the week, but with such phenomenal service, I figure it’s because not too many people are aware they’re in business. I figured I’d write a review to do my part to support this local business with such good employees and service.

I do not recommend this place. I came in for a manicure and pedicure and was hardly greeted. I didn’t know whether I should sit in a waiting chair or somewhere else. As I stood there awkwardly and uncomfortably for a while, they eventually sat me in a pedicure chair but left me clueless as to how long I was going to wait. The only nice thing about my visit is that the older gentleman offered me a towel to put in my lap because I was wearing a dress. I always appreciate when they do this.
As I waited, still unsure how long I would be there, I sat in my spa chair and realized this place is kind of gross, old/​dirty and ghetto. The spa chairs are dated. It smelled awful in there, like old fast food. A child of one of the employees was hanging out in the spa chair next to me playing loud, annoying videos from her tablet. Not very relaxing at all! Even the attire of one of the employees was inappropriate. There were two half empty water bottles at my spa chair. And maybe this isn’t Blooms fault, but all the people in there were also not the classiest bunch.
As I continued to wait, I read through other Unilocal reviews and decided that if I already didn’t like this place, I didn’t want to waste money to confirm what I was already thinking and what some other reviewers also felt. So I dried off my feet, got out of my spa chair and drove right next door to my usual place at Luxi Nails. I had my usual services and left Luxi with my usual smile.
The only nice thing about Bloom was that there is plenty of parking. But at the end of the day, that is irrelevant in the grand scheme of me needing to get my nails done. I wanted to try a new place and I wanted to like this place. Sadly, that didn’t happen and I won’t be back.

I went in with a friend after a spur of the moment decision. We had no appointment and we waited about 30 minutes. However, in those thirty minutes two disgruntled costumers came in complaining of mess up with their nails. One said her nails were uneven and sloppy and one said something about her gel manicure. I thought this was slightly fishy but I thought it was a coincidence. I was absolutely wrong. My nails did not dry that day and I woke up the next morning to marks on my nails from my pillow and dents in the actual nail. I put my own top coat over it and called it a day. However, on maybe day 2 or 3 they began chipping as if I had them on for more than a week. My roommates nails were so poorly done that the glued on nail broke off doing something very simple. I would not recommend seeing as my nails are 9 days old and look like crap.

A complete disregard for appointments. As of 5 pm, my 430 appointment is a joke. Still waiting…

I’ve been looking for a long time now for a good price for a great service in nails, and with Bloom, I do believe I’ve found it!
1. the décor is clean and spacious. I know this might not matter as much to other people, but it was so relaxing.
2. the staff was amazing! they were all laughing and smiling and chatting with each other. The girl that worked on my mani and pedi, Fabiola, did a GREAT job and was smiling the whole time. She did the work carefully and unlike my time at another salon, I didn’t get nicked and my blood stayed in me this time.
3. I went here on a spur-​of-​the-​moment thought on a Thursday at 6:30pm –ish, called, and then was there by 6:40pm –ish. I got service around 7:00pm, which is fine by me, because they were busy (pre-​Easter rush, I think). They close at 8pm, but around 5 more people walked in after me, and they didn’t turn anyone away! There were only about 4 people there working on around 10 people, trying to make them all happy.
4. I know this might also not matter that much, but my phone was dying, so they let me charge my phone there. I just thought it was a nice touch.
5. There’s a lot of room in the parking lot behind the salon.
6. I got a gel mani and a regular pedi for $ 35. I think this is an amazing deal and I will keep coming back!

Love the service. The owner is so sweet and nice. I feel so welcomed. My second time coming here and will definitely be coming here regularly. Plus the parking in the back is a plus.

Update: came back to bloom and they added hot stones to the pedicure! Very impressed and still the best deal in the area the price
Went here today for a quick pedicure and ended up getting a gel mani pedi because of the great deal. Was $ 35 for a basic pedicure and color and a gel manicure with color. Much better deal then any of the surrounding salons. I also like that they are open until 8PM. It was pretty quiet, not super busy at 7PM on a Tuesday. The girls were polite and professional, not super chatty.
My only reason for 4 stars is they didn’t have a huge color selection. Also I like pedicures with hot stones and wraps, which this did not include, but for that price you can’t beat it.

Went to this establishment to get my nails done and I was very pleased. Linh was very friendly and professional, she did a great job on my nails. I will definitely return.

Best deal within miles! $ 35 for hot stone wonderful pedicure and a great gel manicure! The ladies that work there are always so sweet.

I went there today since they had a special for a gel manicure and pedicure. I honestly, thought the place was super clean and they use new instruments, which is a plus since I’m very picky. I was very satisfied with how she took her time. Let’s see how long my gel manicure lasts, that’s how I know of a place is good or not. Overall loved it.

Just went here for the first time because they have $ 20 pedicures Mon. — Thurs. I wasn’t sure how great it would be for $ 20 but I didn’t have to worry– service was wonderful, they did a great job! The place is very clean and the woman who did my toes was very good (and my feet are awful so that says a lot!) You get all the standard pedicure stuff– massage chair, exfoliating stuff, foot massage, etc. For $ 20 you can’t go wrong.
One suggestion I would make is that if you want a very specific color either bring it with you or check if they have it first. They seemed to have a wider range of gel colors than regular.
Another great thing about this place was that it seems to be pretty well ventilated — don’t get me wrong it still definitely smells like nail polish, but it’s not as overwhelming as it is at many other places.

Loved the service at Bloom Spa. This was my first time getting acrylic nails and my manicurist Sue made it a pleasant experience. I enjoyed everything from the cleanliness of the place to the attentiveness of the manicurist. I took advantage of their specials and I believe it was worth my time. I would definitely be back.

Came here for a regular manicure. My tech seemed to be very inexperienced, and took a very long time for a very routine service. My nails were filed down to the quick, to the point that the abrasion of the file against my skin was painful. Pain was applied very heavily, and still hadn’t dried hours later. I have impressions from my sheets on my nails. All that being said, I got my nails done four days ago, and my nails only have one chip!
They are open about an hour later than any other nail place in Highland Park though, so that’s attractive. Basic manis are more (significantly more) expensive than other places in the area, but the prices for pedis and gels seem to be on par with the rest. I’ll probably be back in a few months. I feel like they need time to settle into their new digs here.
Parking is better than Luxi or Soho– there’s a big lot behind the strip mall.

They gave me someone new and inexperienced… I came out with two very bad cut up cuticles… I didn’t even out polish on cause it was so bad…
