Very nice place and atmosphere. Iris did my nails and she was great. I had gone to a horrible nail salon in the east Brunswick mall and it was a nightmare! The lady destroyed my nails with an electric machine to remove my old gel. Instead she scratched my nails and removed so many layers of my nails making them paper thin Iris did a great job saving my nails and making them look better. They are short but painted very nice and feel strong with the gel done right. She even gave me a massage while my nails dried. Im definitely going back and their student discount is good! 30 $ with a rutgers student id. Totally recommend

Every time I get a gel mani from Luxi, they crack in a disgusting manner. I don’t know if it’s their product or the process or if their employees lack the knowledge of proper gel application. For the amount that I pay, I should at least have nails that don’t look horrific after a week.
They usually have decent discounts for rutgers students and for the holiday season.

I personally like this place. I know a lot of people feel that they are pricey and they are a bit pricier than other places that I’ve been to. But the surrounding nail salons are not as clean or have a great selection of colors. Ive been here twice for gel manicure and they do an excellent job. Doesnt chip after a couple days like other places. I use rutgers student discount so i paid $ 30 plus i gave then. $ 5 tip.

I have been a customer at Luxi since they opened but will not be returning after today. After waiting patiently for 20 – 25 minutes after I finished my pedicure to get a gel manicure, the girl I was waiting for took someone who had just walked in. Eunice’s (the owner who was not present) husband did not come over and address the situation and when I went up to the counter and told him I was upset and why didn’t someone come over and tell me it would be such a long wait he just stared at me as if he had no clue as to what I was saying. No reaction so I guess he didn’t care. Well… There are others salons in town and they lost not one but three regular customers! I went right over to Bloom’s down the street and they were quite accommodating and cleaner!

LUXI is my favorite nail spot in the area. I know all the ladies who work there, they are all so sweet and everything is clean and kept very fresh. I really love their gel manis, and their pedicures are great too, I always feel like the girls are taking their time with my nails, and no one rushes me out. I love it there.

Your get what you pay for. Waited 25 minutes. It was very crowded. Sloppiest pedicure I ever received. The technician was so rough. Exfoliated my feet for 20 seconds each. They get you in and out. I will never go back there. A pedicure is $ 25 with the minimum credit charge is $ 30 even though it’s not posted.

This was terrific. The pedicure was great and the massage with the stones was so relaxing. The gel manicure was done beautifully and every request I made was met. Iris did my manicure and Kelly did my pedicure. I had a great experience.

Three weeks ago I decided to get my first ever pedicure at the salon. Although, I get my nails done here I’ve just never seen the need for a pedicure… until now!!! Carmen is wonderful & I was pleasantly addicted to the whole pedicure spa thing within minutes of dipping my feet in the warm water. I don’t know what I like more… the foot rub/scrub…the leg massage… or the hot rocks… which incidently… made me melt into the chair! I told Carmen I was officially ADDICTED… and have been back ever since. Pedicures are a necessity if for no other reason than to do something deserving of you… I recommend Carmen to anyone who’s thinking about getting one… you too will be addicted… I PROMISE YOU!!!

I get my brows done next door so I decided to give Luxi a try. The salon is clean and pleasant. They usually play CNN on the TVs. Prices are a little higher than other local nail salons. Their gel color selection is just okay, not that many options. I kind of prefer the pedi service to their manis. I never feel rushed when I’m getting my toes done there. The techs take their time on your feet and treat you to a hot stone massage with the regular pedicure. You get a shoulder rub after your manicure too. I was disappointed that the nail tech did not do any work on my cuticles. She neither pushed them back nor trimmed them; for me, that’s half the point of a professional mani. Be sure to bring cash for tips; as others note, you cannot tip on your card but they do have an ATM inside. The staff isn’t the warmest I’ve seen but they give prompt and exceptional service. I like the staff at SoHo up the street better, but Luxi does better work. Probably the best choice for nails in New Brunswick/​Highland Park.

Been coming to luxi since they opened years ago. This past experience will be my last. I walked in at 3:45 and was immediately seated for a manicure. The place was half empty. The manicurist spent 10 minutes soaking my gel off before she got up to take care of another client. At this point the place started to fill up, mostly with women asking for pedicures, some of whom may have had appointments, but others definitely did not. I was left looking around confused for about 20 minutes before they came over and told me to wait a few more minutes. As I sat there the old gel polish basically peeled off on its own, requiring zero work by the manicurist. When I was finally taken care of she informed me that it would cost me $ 20. This for a regular manicure, and removal of an old gel. This price is absurd on a normal day, let alone after being treated like complete garbage. The owners and employees are extremely rude, even to regular clients who have been coming here for years. I would come here for the convenience of being next to another salon I use, but I am now officially done with luxi. I will be using soho nails down the street where I can get a gel for $ 30 and the staff is charming and always helpful.

I go there all the time for mani and pedi all the time and I love it there until this past Saturday. A Korean manicurist named Amy gave me so much attitude after I told her I wanted her to spray the hand sanitizer. I know they usually spray that before putting lotion on and she didn’t do it, then she told me «the process doesn’t matter» with an attitude. She had a shit face on this whole time so I decided to ask her what’s wrong and she blew off on me saying I was being rude because I complained to my friend about her not spraying the hand sanitizer (she was yelling in front of other customers). I told her I was upset and I have the right to complain, and when I asked her to spray, I asked her very nicely with the exchange of bad attitude. She then said «whatever» and walked away. I talked to the manager and he DID NOT APOLOGIZE and only said one word «okay, I understand». I’m never going back again and I hope that girl lose her job soon.

My go to salon for mani-​pedis in Jersey, they’re a little pricey coming from Brooklyn where salon prices are uncharacteristically low, but it’s worth it.
Very clean, only OPI, Essie and Shellac brand polishes are used and everyone is extremely polite.
Gets very busy on Saturday during the day, I wish they were open on Sunday’s!

I am new to NJ and this establishment was recommended to me by several co-​workers. I got an acrylic fill with Gel polish on top. Within hours the gel started to lift by the next day there was polishon only 2 nails. I went to the establishment to have my polish redone. The owner was not apologetic and had the nerve to try and charge me $ 10 for a different color, they made me fell like I did something wrong. That night my gel polish lifted again and by the morning all but 2 nails are bare. I have never experienced this. I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN!!!

The staff is super RUDE! Workers there always have attitude. I stopped going there. Getting nails done is suppose to be relaxing and this place is too stressful to go to.

The 1^st thing that should be said about this salon is that it is very clean! Nice décor & no overpowering chemical smell many nail salons have.
I suppose that directly correlates to their high prices. I got a regular gel fill for $ 45! It was my 1^st time there and I did not ask the prices before sitting down, so of course I obliged and paid. Will not be going back for that one reason. I think that is outrageous. My regular salon, just as classy gives me a brand new gel set at $ 35. Not comparable.
With that said, I am satisfied with the manicure, and if you don’t mind spending that much than you’ve found your salon.

Walked in for a mani-​pedi on a Thursday early afternoon. They were not very busy and I was taken immediately. Pedicure was a bit better than your standard pedicure in that they scrub, moisturize, and perform a short stone massage. I believe the extras you get in the pedicure are worth the extra few dollars paid compared to most places ($ 25 for a pedi here)
HOWEVER. my manicure was another story. I get a regular manicure on my real nails. I felt like the manicurist did not care at all while as I looked around at everyone getting gel manicures, they were being thorough and careful. Nails were not filed evenly and the paint was put on incredibly thin. So thin that it literally started to wear at the tips the next morning. It is now the Sunday after my manicure and I’m most likely going to have to take this polish off tomorrow. The paint has worn, chipped, and cuticles look horrible. Also the «massage» at the end was literally 30 seconds long. Why even bother?
–I would like to add that they did have a very nice selection of Essie and OPI colors.
Will definitely NOT be going back.

I called and made an appointment the day before and the day I was supposed to go I called 20 minutes before and asked whoever answered if it was busy and if it was ok for me to come in still. She said that she wasn’t busy and I told her I wanted a fill-​in only. She said no problem. Once I got there I waited 30 minutes and 3 customers that came after me went for manicures and pedicures first than me… I end up leaving and not getting anything. I did bit like the wait. Especially because I called before hand and asked if it was busy or not

I went here on a Saturday afternoon in need of a quick mani-​pedi. The salon was packed and there was a short line, but I was able to start my pedicure after about a 5 minute wait. Gloria did my pedicure and she was fast but very thorough. When I sat down for my manicure, I mentioned that I needed to leave soon and Kaylee did a great job of accommodating me while also doing a fantastic job.
The salon was clean and the color selection seemed really current. I am so pleased with the service. I will definitely be back!

The customer service isn’t the greatest in the world but it is very clean and bright inside.
I really like how clean it looks, makes me feel better when I get my nails done. They have a lot of options you can do and it seems to be fairly priced. I did just a manicure and it was only $ 10, good price for me! The technician did a good job and it was pretty quick. It’s always a little awkward when they don’t talk to you at all but oh well.
Tons of colors to choose from. They take cards but there is a minimum of $ 20. I think. Or $ 10. There isn’t a lot of room to sit and dry your nails, I had to wait a few minutes before I could sit under it. I will go back to get a new color, I can do a $ 10 manicure.

The customer service sucks!
My friend and I went on a Saturday evening and this was a big mistake. The shop was almost empty so we asked if we could get pictures. My friend also requested a manicure and we were accepted. Well, a pregnant woman did my pedi, which made me uneasy. She rushed through it and did a mediocre job. My feet were not completely dry when we were told we had to leave and another manicurist all but shoved my wet feet into my rain boots and pushed me out of the door.
Needless to say, I won’t be returning. If I could not be accommodated then I would have gone elsewhere to start. The owner watched and said nothing while this went on.
