If you want the BEST photographer in Hawaii, then look no further! Kevin captured our engagement and wedding photos for us and they are so remarkable that we couldn’t imagine anything better.
Kevin is a very sweet, friendly guy that makes it easy to feel comfortable in front of the camera. He has a good eye and he told me that he likes to constantly change the locations of his shoots to get a different look. This led us on an adventure during our engagement shoot that had us going over highway rails, jumping down huge rocks and finding the most AMAZING places to shoot in Hawaii that you couldn’t normally get to. If you are a young couple like us then you can probably imagine how much fun we had. EVERYONE asks us where we took the photos because they are so unique.
Our wedding day photos are also beautiful. We had an extravagant wedding with over 300+ people and we only used Kevin as our photographer. We will continue to count on Kevin whenever we have a milestone to celebrate in Hawaii.

We recently had a family reunion on Oahu with 15 people who flew in from all over the US. Kevin did an amazing job capturing the entire family, subsets, multiple different combinations of people, etc. He was so accommodating and guided us to pose in various spots on the beach. The location he chose was Waimanalo Beach and we couldn’t ask for a better setting. He was so efficient and thorough in his communication prior to the photo shoot day and covered everything. He responds to emails right away. We received our photos so much quicker than anticipated and every single one of us were in awe with the quality. He is an amazing photographer and a kind soul. All of us felt so comfortable working with him. I highly recommend Kevin for any occasion. He will work with you and provide with you photographs you will cherish for a life time!

Kevin is AMAZING! Not only are his photos everything my fiancé and I had hoped for, but he is the best to work with! I decided to surprise my then girlfriend with a photography session for her ‘grad’ pictures while we were on vacation in Hawaii, to pop the question. Being from San Francisco, planning would’ve been so much more difficult without him! He sent me samples of multiple locations, and his ideas were so helpful! He captured our moment and engagement celebration perfectly and we were amazed with the angles, colors, and clarity of the photos and the overall experience couldn’t have been better! My husband and I have relied on Kevin to capture the most precious moments of our lives. He has immortalized our engagement, wedding, our twins as newborns, and our growing family throughout the years. Kevin has always surpassed our expectations as a photographer. Kevin and his lovely wife/​assistant were awesome about capturing all the pure and natural emotions of our 2 young sons about a year ago, when our younger son turned 1 in Ko Olina, HI. It was a spur of the moment thing, where we had the kids run around on the beach around sunset… the pictures were beautiful and the expressions on our kids faces were priceless. If you want to see some of the photos, they are captured on Kevin’s website. Not only is he great at wedding photography, but family photos too. He also went through and edited/​touched up the actual shots before sending them back to us, in 2 different formats in a dropbox. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the amazing Kevin Lubera. Where to start? We were referred to him by our incredible floral and even designer, Yvonne Design, for our 2010 wedding in Napa. We were thrilled that he was available, as he is highly in demand! Not only is he an incredibly talented photographer, but leading up to the day, he was so calm and accommodating, just speaking with him dropped my stress levels because he literally had everything covered.
Given I was planning my wedding from abroad, he was entirely accommodating about when we spoke, and was super responsive over email. He is also incredibly organized and on top of things– there was nothing he hadn’t already thought of when it came to planning how the photography would run on the day.
We didn’t actually meet until the day before the wedding, and he had already done a site visit and begun to shoot background shots and determine where he would «stage» us on the day to save time so we wouldn’t be away from our guests very long. Oh– and did I also mention that he went above and beyond and actually helped with other aspects of the wedding preparation as well? What a saint!
On the day itself, he was absolutely amazing. I’m incredibly camera shy and hate having my photo taken– it was probably the thing that I was dreading most. But Kevin was incredible, and not only did he make me feel super comfortable and unconscientious, but half the time I didn’t even realize he was there snapping away! I wanted photos that were not forced, and more of a photo-​journalistic approach, and he more than delivered. His artistic sensibility and innate talent for capturing beauty have given my husband and I the most beautiful memories captured in film.
Aside from his talent, he is also just the nicest man. By the time we got to the wedding day, he felt like family, so much so that we asked him to join us as our guest at dinner and dancing! Thank you Kevin for capturing our day and giving us memories of a lifetime!

Ok this photographer has shot not only one but BOTH of my older sister’s weddings. I was a bridesmaid in both so I got first hand experience with how he is :)
I have put off writing a review for him for several months now bc I feel whatever I write won’t do him justice. He is not only such an amazing photographer but the sweetest one around. This is important especially for some of the more shy subjects. He will make you feel so comfortable.
My oldest sister had hired Joe Buissink as her main photographer at her wedding. Joe had brought a whole team of people along with him. When it came time to go through all of the photos both my sisters and I noticed we fell in love with some photographs more than others. Somehow she managed to find out that some of photos we loved were shot by Kevin, who at the time was one of Joe’s assistants.
We all made notes in our heads that the next time we know someone getting married we would for sure recommend Kevin.
Fast forward 5 years later, the next sister in line was ready to get married an looking for photographers, we remembered how much we loved Kevin’s photos, found him online and found out he was now doing weddings on his own. Fabulous! My sister called him up and hired him immediately.
When we got Shamisa’s wedding photos from him we fell just in love with his photos as we did the first time with Shahrzad’s.
His shots are not the run of the mill boring wedding photographs. His pictures are wonderfully unique but elegant and traditional at the same time, they are ones you’re going to want to print, blow up10x the original size and stick in every room of your home.
I mentioned being a shy subject earlier bc when 100% attention in on Shamisa she becomes SUPER duper shy, she was the complete opposite of a bridezilla. Kevin, told her exactly how to stand, pose, and when to smile when not to, making her feeling totally at ease and confident that he was getting the right shots. This is a HUGE deal bc you are spending a pretty penny on your whole wedding wouldn’t it be awful if the photos turned up ugly bc you’re photographer was just pointing and shooting and not telling you what you can do to make the photo better?
In addition to weddings, the oldest sister again recently hired him to take shots of her family. When I got to see the photos they gave me chills, it felt as though I was in a dream. I was in shock to know the photos were taken in SD and at balboa park. I don’t know how he transformed balboa park into something so much more interesting to look at through his lens.
You will not regret hiring him.
