Rix Island Wear

No doubt Rix’s Aloha shirts really stand out from the others. Large prints, not necessarily loud, seems to be the theme for Rix. They are very nice shirts and of high quality. Consequently, they are high price as well. I think they are worth it. But because of the prices, I couldn’t buy as much as I wanted. I will return. Look for the discounts; sometimes there are 50% clearance racks.

Very happy with our purchases. The sales rep was very friendly and gave us the whole back story on the clothing. Very high quality, made here in Hawaii, original one of a kind patterns, and each design has a story behind its inspiration. You will not be buying something you can get elsewhere, and they are not the run of the mill Hawaiian pattern shirts. We will look forward to coming back on a future trip.

My son-​in-​law wanted to get the new limited edition shirt Naupaka for Father’s Day. I called on Friday and was told they still had some in stock. He was so happy that they still had it in the color he wanted the staff Lil and Miah where so helpful. I want to give a BIG SHOUT OUT to Rix’s Island Wear staff and General manager Lil who care about their customers with old school service.

Love rix… my husband has several shirts. great service. they were very easy in exchanges as well. all staff is great. dealt with zig many times. always pleasant. just waiting on a larger womens line.variety.i will buy for sure.

I came to Rix for the first time looking for a Christmas present. The shirt designs are contemporary aloha. I loved it! It was also awesome that they had a 50% off rack! These aloha shirts are more affordable than other stores.
I really liked that each shirt came with a description of why the style of shirt received its name.
The staff was also very friendly and helpful when I had questions on a few shirts. They were all very approachable which makes a huge difference for customer service.

(This is probably closer to 4.5 stars to me.) The smallish store is packed with an excellent selection of men’s aloha shirts in pretty unique designs. (A women’s line is supposedly coming soon.) Most shirts are priced around $ 60, and there’s a sale rack toward the front. The friendly, helpful staff is enjoyable to interact with.

Very very nice collection of aloha print wear with varieties in color styles. There was one shirt I wanted but was sold out. But then I bought this other shirt which was still pretty nice. I wanted to buy 3 of em but I only needed one. The workers in there were pretty helpful. Wouldn’t mind another shirt later on. Get um. Worth it.

Rick Ralston has since contacted me and has made great efforts to resolve this situation. He was very attentive to my needs and sent me a personal apology for the experience I had. I do like the products at Rix just glad that Rick has taken matters into to own hands to ensure excellent customer service. Thanks!

I’m not much of a fashion guy I buy my stuff online and end up looking like crqp because the clothes never fit… but there’s one thing I don’t get wrong: my Aloha shirts. So every man in Hawaii should own at least one nice Aloha shirt for luaus, business meetings or for Aloha Fridays. It amazes me how many local boys opt for collared shirt from Ralph Lauren! The guys who do have aloha shirts usually either get some old man looking ones from Tori Richards or some kiddie shirts from HIC. This brand is in between you look like a boss in their shirts without coming across looking like your Uncle Masa. Unlike Tori Richards, the shirts are half the price. They run a little big so get a size lower. Bottom line is that you inevitably look good in these aloha shirts doesn’t matter if you wear them with shorts, jeans, slacks or whatever. The store has plenty of selection and if u see something that u like but they dont have they will get it for u. I got a bunch of shirts for my canceled wedding for the groomsmen and ended up giving them away and trading them in to expand my aloha shirt collection. Do yourself a favor and look like a boss rather than a door to door vacuum salesman or a wanna be or worst… a tourist!

I literally own 15+ of Rix Aloha Shirts. I love this brand and I appreciate the contemporary styles and marketing of his products. The owner of Rix is the original owner of the Hawaiian Crazy Shirts. He sold Crazy Shirts to a large corporation, and decided to start up Rix. So glad he did! The aloha shirts /​Hawaiian shirts have a contemporary design, and are made of pretty quality cotton material. They have designs for both young men and the more seasoned gentlemen.
Aloha shirts originally cost $ 55, which is a deal given all of the high-​quality designer brands out there. You are purchasing a shirt that is comfortable, easy to care for, and will last a long time if you take care of it. Interestingly, Rix has two main types of quality shirts — one is the traditional 100% cotton material that is easy to wash and keeps it’s color. The other is also a 100% cotton blend, but is a heavier blend. The shirts are beauiful because they are stiff and is heavy. However, the coloring on these shirts tend to bleed /​fade a lot quicker than the other type. If I’ve ever had a problem with a shirt, there is no questions in returning or exchanging the shirts!

I love this brand. Their designs are new while still keeping that traditional aloha shirt feel. They’re constantly coming out with new designs and they usually come in a variety of colors. They are kind of pricey, running around the $ 60 range but the shirts are made with high quality cotton. I always get great customer service from Ziggy at their ward location which is a major plus especially when you’re dropping some serious money on shirts. As long as they’re in business this is where I will be going for aloha shirts! ;) maybe they should come out with a wahine line, you know, like another well famous Hawaiian company, cough «manuhealii»…

I went here today looking for a gift for my husband. He loves this place and already owns a couple Rix shirts. Zig was working today and was so friendly and helpful. He helped me pick out a pair of shorts for hubby. I also picked up a new pareo for myself. I always enjoy coming in here because they are very friendly and the prints look so good on my husband.

I love their shirts and their patterns! One tip though, buy a size up because their shirts shrink quite a bit. I’m a medium and I bought a medium hoping that they are true to size but because the shirts are cotton, I don’t think they are preshrunk. The shirt now after a couple of washes are now very snug. So I suggest buy a size up.

I needed to buy a Hawaiian shirt for a luau, so we stopped by here while walking around Ala Moana.
Although the shirts were more expensive than shirts sold in ABC stores and other local stores, the quality and design definitely felt like it was worth the money. I did enjoy the styles as it stood out from the rest. The service wasn’t too bad, as our seller had a pretty good attitude.
You should definitely stop by here if you’re ever in the mood for shirts.

At last! I finally visited Rix Island Wear after hearing about it on Tiny Tv.
What I like about their shirts is their style, its design is not the typical classic Hawaiian cheap print you get for less than $ 20 but has more of a modern, bold and edgy design. And I agree what they said on their site:
«There’s a brand new line of men’s Hawaiian Aloha shirts. It is Rix and it is hot.»
I believe this will become the hottest trend, its like the new kid in the block of the Hawaiian shirts world.
This place is located inside the Ward Warehouse and there is plenty of parking.
The price for the shirts are $ 49.50. Its a reasonable price not too cheap and not too pricey. Hawaiian made and the material is machine washable.
This place also sales t-​shirts and caps for $ 15, boxers printed like the shirts design for $ 16.
When I walked in here there was only one guy running the place. I had to wait for this guy to finish his phone conversation before he can help me out, I think I waited about 7 minutes. This was the only problem I had with this place.
Overall, I look forward in coming to this place in the future and expand my Aloha shirt wardrobe with Rix Island Wear.
