The former Sears Ala Moana Watch and Jewelry Repair shop is now at Macy’s Ala Moana 4^th floor next to the towel department. Same owner and service. Glad they remained at the Center. I took a clock there. They repaired it while I waited. The work was completed in a few minutes. Excellent service!

Sooo, walked in and saw the clearance signs and started looking at their clothing. It wasn’t long before we headed back out the door.
There’s a security guard checking receipts, I guess people have been stealing OR the sensors are gone.
Overheard an argument with a customer and worker. Apparently she bought the wrong one or something and wanted to exchange it but the worker kept telling her over and over that sales were final. Her argument was that she had just bought it, right then.
The results of it? Who knows, didn’t stay long enough to find out.

Sears Ala Moana has been around ever since the mall opened. It is sad to see that it will be closing later this year as plans to scale its operations down.
I have many memories of Sears, good ones and bad ones. In fact, I even worked there as my first job in the tools department. I felt that working there actually gave me the foundations to succeed as I learned that hard work is necessary even in a low wage paying job.
The best departments are the bottom floor departments. These include hardware and tools, lawn and garden, and appliances. If Sears could just focus on those departments, I am sure they can do well.
I can’t say for the other departments though as nothing above the bottom floor really intrigued me. The shoes are really just self service now and mens clothing is really behind in style.

Sears TV Section — RUDE SALESPERSON: Bryson and Brian
Was helped by Bryson today. What a terrible attitude this man had. Not only did he treat us like idiots, he was extremely direspectful and rude– speaking to us like we were lesser beings. We simply wanted to know what discounts/​offers there were, instead he was aggressive and hostile comparing a TV to an iPhone to explain its «exclusivity». What a Jerk.
When we sought help from a nicer associate Greg, Bryson and his «buddy» fellow co-​worker Brian, started to snicker and make fun of my family. What a tremendous douchebag. Yeah I saw you both laughing and pointing.
Both of these Sears associates should be fired. I will be writing to Sears corporate about your unacceptable and unprofessional behavior.
There are sales associates for a reason! We have questions, don’t treat us like dirt.
OH BTW Bryson, me and my family bought a $ 3000 TV. No commission for you.

Went here this past sunday for friends and family event. Was looking for cordless screwdriver. Found a small 4.2V one. We only need it for small things like a tv stand and bed frame. It was very busy and many things were sold out or only a few items left on shelves. They were also giving away prizes during the sale hours.
Usually go to the auto center for oil change or when I need tires.

Sears Watch & Jewelry is located in the Sears store Mall level.
I always come here for my broken watch bands and today is no different. Funny how my watch outlasts my bands 3 to 1. Greeted promptly and was shown my choices of different styles. Today I lucked out because the better band was cheaper.
Fast service, Quoted 10minutes to swap bands and it was done faster than 10minutes.
I’m going to be sad when Sears does close.

I do not have much to say about this place since I have only used this service three or four times total. However, if you count the times where I went in to drop off and pick up, I have encountered different levels of service and cleanliness here. So saying that, I will sum up my experiences only in a few words.
Service: Good or bad; generally good, but on some days you get grumpy people or people who do not speak English well.
Cleanliness: What I mean by cleanliness is how well your clothes come out. Generally, I am satisfied. However, there was once or twice where I was dissatisfied with the cleanliness of my clothes.
The best thing I love about this place is the 20% discount this place gives to military. To all military affiliated people, utilize this discount! Happy Unilocaling!

Let’s face it, Sears is a symbol of Americana, and my family and myself are no different from the rest of America. We’ve purchased tools, appliances, TVs, clothes, baby items, and most recently a mattress.
We’ve found the service at Sears has always been fantastic, although sometimes checking out can be a bit of a pain in the a_​_​. When we purchased our mattress, the salesperson was fantastic, and he went out of his way after the purchase to insure that we received the two free pillows that were to be included in the mattress sale. AWESOME, it’s nice to get a phone call to ask if you were happy with your purchase and if there were anything else they could do.
The final kicker was that with the Sears credit card they offered no interest on our purchase for 18 months, and although we didn’t need, and frankly, didn’t want another credit card, this deal was too good to pass up.
The negatives were that the card was a great deal, but the interest rate was almost 23% if you were to purchase anything that wasn’t part of the 18 month no interest deal. This is exceptionally high, and I fear that I might get my legs broken if I miss a payment, what are they, the mob? Minus 1 star, sorry Sears. Too bad you’re closing, I’m not looking forward to driving to Pearlridge.

I hardly ever visit sears but when I do it’s very limited. I usually don’t really care for sears. The only reason why I go there now is because of the Kardashian Kollection, once this no longer exists I will not go there anymore. This location tends to have the things that I want in my size compared to the Pearlridge one. The other thing I like about this Sears is that they have Starbucks downstairs hahaha.
There is so much parking you can pick a place where you want to park, the only time that it is hard to find parking would be around Christmas time. I doubt that this sears will stay here any longer, people rather go shopping at other stores.

Tourist tip!
If Honolulu is your first stop in the islands, pack your luggage lightly with just the essentials and maybe a change or two of clothes.
Don’t buy clothes at the tourist traps in Waikiki. Aloha Stadium swapmeet’s okay though.
First thing you do, come here to Sears for good prices and better quality Hawaiian wear.
They’ve got big selections of Hawaiian shirts and muu-​muus.
What I loved was that they carried Japanese-​themed prints on blouses & dresses which is what I wear back home. Items not carried here on the mainland. At cheaper prices than what I usually pay. Even better, everything I bought was on sale!
Come light, go home heavy!
Edited to add: Found out from Honolulu Unilocaler, Val Y., that this Sears in going to close in August 2012. So sad to hear this.

This review is mostly for the hardware and appliance sections of sears. I have no idea why anybody would buy anything else here. Clothes? Blah. Shoes? Blah. I only come here if I need to change my watch battery or buy a fridge or other large appliance.
I like sears for appliances and hardware because they have a very large selection. Also, you can ask the employees if an item is going to be on sale soon and they will tell you! I just went last week to pick up a new washer and dryer and the worker told me that there would be a sale starting in 3 days that would drop the price of the items I wanted by almost $ 200! They also do price adjustments so if you need the item right away, save your receipt and if it goes on sale within two weeks, you can bring back your receipt and get the difference back. Awesome!
Yes the service is somewhat… eh… non existent. I would do my research at home and see what you want before you come in. This isn’t a high end department store!
One gripe I do have is with the delivery. I purchased 3 large appliances at once so I did shell out some serious dough. If I pay a lot, I wish I could pick the exact time I get those items delivered. I realize the deliveries are hard to estimate but I wanted a time after 3 pm so my husband could be home to help and they couldn’t guarantee me it. I could pay extra to have a weekend but I wasn’t having that. Is it so hard to guarantee a late delivery?

I really didn’t care so much for Sears, but recently I’ve been finding some great things there. It actually has some great sales on items that are actually pretty good looking!

Much to my dismay after doing laundry a few weeks ago I found out that my favorite pencil skirt was the newest victim of my dryer. The zipper twisted in an really odd, that shouldn’t have happened way.
I took my skirt to sears alterations and was charged $ 25 to put a new zipper in! That’s crazy! For those of you not familiar with the sewing world it literally takes 5 minutes to seam rip that sucker out and about another 10 to sew the new one in!
If I had machine I’d do it myself!
It took them over a week to complete but the quality of work was really good as was customer service from drop off to pick up. My skirt has been resurrected from the dead!

The BF and I also got our bed from here. Awesome deal BTW. Our bed was delivered and set up within the timeframe given. (I love it when these delivery people are on time and set up things quickly.)
Another thing I like about Sears is the alterations department. AAA discount! And the ladies are speedy with those alterations!
Sears is definitely not on my everyday shopping list, but I do go here quite a bit.

After reading a recent review regarding their repair service, I knew I needed to make sure I didn’t procrastinate writing my own review about my recent experience.
Making a long story short, our washing machine was making some very funny and unusual noises… in addition to the washer filling with water during the last spin sequence of a wash cycle.
I have to admit I wasn’t sure who to call (insert Ghostbusters joke here if you’d like), and so I ended up on the Sears website researching repairs and maintenance. If you click on appliances, you should be able to navigate to the repairs/​maintenance page fairly easily and you will discover the information I found:
1) For convenience purposes, appointments can actually be made or booked online.
2) There is a 800 number to call (1−800−469−4663) for assistance if needed.
I chose to call the 800 number since I actually had a few questions about cost and payment methods.
I explained my problem to the service rep, and he in turn asked me for my name and phone number so he could pull up the customer information. Overalll, he was very helpful in answering all my questions regarding price, payment, scheduling the appointment, and terms of the service agreement.
He asked for my email address so he could send me the service certificate/​agreement as well.
I called on a Monday for an appointment on the following Monday 8−12pm, and over the course of the week I received emails with the service certificate/​agreement as well as to confirm the date and time of the appointment. The confirmation email also stated that the technician would call me prior to his arrival so I would know to expect him. Also, 2 days before the appointment, we received an automated message reminder.
On the day of the appointment, everything went smoothly for the most part and overall I was satisfied with the workmanship and customer service provided by the technician. He arrived at 830am, well within the 8−12pm appointment time parameters. He spent a total of 15 minutes at my home, and although he was not overly friendly he was polite and professional.
To be brutally honest, I was ready to give 5 stars for this review. The downfall: There was no notification call from the technician prior to arrival at my residence. Although I made sure to get up before 8am, I truthfully was expecting a call so I could make sure I was ready with things… i.e. space around the washer was clear, making sure to be available to answer the door.
NOTE:
1) The website lists a price of $ 129.99 which includes the labor and visit fee, but excludes any fees for parts
2) The service rep informed me of a «special» (his terminology not mine) price of $ 214.99 which included the visit fee, labor, parts, as well as a 1 year extended warranty for any problem, not just the current one we were experiencing, regarding the washer. I thought this special sounded, for the most part, reasonable, so this is the option I chose. If you choose this «special» (if it’s available), then you are required to pay via credit card over the phone.
3) You can select an appointment time of either 8−12pm or 1−5pm.
4) You may want to choose to call the 800 number to make an appointment as the website only allows to book appointments for the following week and not the current week. I had called on Monday and the service rep informed me that a Saturday appointment was available
if I wanted it.
Bottom Line. This is definitely a likely alternative if you’ve purchased a Sears appliance and are not sure whom to call. Decent customer service in addition to somewhat reasonable prices and terms of service made for a positive experience.

Remember when Sears was the Macy’s of the block? I sure don’t but my mom talks about the days that Sears was top dog in terms of shopping. I can see how it could be your one stop shop though… men could peruse those awesome lawn equipment things like lawn mowers or even a new grill… my dad sure gets stuck on those… and the women could obsess over all those clothing racks.
Anyway, my dad still loves to buy a new grill every two years and my mom always ends up getting one for his Christmas/birthday/father’s day present. Never mind that he never wants to grill. he just wants to enjoy the spoils. However, I don’t have to deal with that craziness anymore now that I don’t live at home but my husband loves Sears for their tools and their jeans… I don’t mind hanging out in the various clothing racks but I’d rather be at home with a fussy baby than browsing tools. SERIOUSLY. I am not a lawn/​home improvement kinda gal. Sorry. I had to buy my husband tools for his Christmas present this last year and it sucked. It was tortuous and he kept changing his mind. Anyway, that’s not Sears’ fault I suppose. But next time Sears could have just one option so it would be easier on him to decide… haha just kidding.
My husband also loves their Structure jeans so since he’s been running like a fiend due to marathon training, he wanted to get new jeans since he lost about ten pounds and he doesn’t like the baggy jeans look. We are not teenagers anymore! He got new Structure jeans since they were on sale and also another random pair… I think they were Sears brand but I can’t be sure. It was so hard finding jeans when the new style is jeggings (yes even for men… don’t you men watch that beer commercial and the guy is wearing his gf’s jeans… yuck) because my husband has really big thighs. He doesn’t like tight things on his legs. Good thing Sears had a large sale on jeans. He was able to snag two pairs for under $ 20.
Why only three stars? Sometimes the employees aren’t the friendliest, the lines are really long (have more cashiers!), and they reorganized the men section so it was impossible to find stuff, and the portrait studio isn’t the greatest.

It’s Sears. They’ve been around since 1886 and it’s been in Oahu since 1966.
They have a lot of household product however I mainly go there for tools and TV. They sell quality tools and probably have the best selection and electronic brands available in Hawaii that doesn’t charge you an arm like Best Buys. Craftsman tools are guaranteed for life.
I wouldn’t trust their auto department since I’ve heard nothing but horror stories from others. How does changing out a wiper cost $ 80 and you put on the wrong size? However, that’s just all hearsay and I’m glad I have a very honest mechanic (Stewart’s Auto).

Decided to go stand up paddling (SUP). My BFF thought it would be a great idea to invest in an underwater digital camera before heading to the beach.
Went directly to the electronics section at Sears and immediately spotted the camera we wanted. Within two minutes we were approached by a petite Asian saleswoman with a lanyard that read, «Patsy». She was very friendly, prompt, and professional. Once we said, «We want this camera!» She quickly got everything we needed, including camera case, memory card, warranty, etc.
Patsy informed us of details on the camera and even shared personal experiences with the product. Within 10 minutes we made a new friend and after cashing out, we ended the transaction with a hug! Haha! I asked her to pose for an «action photo» for Unilocal and she was thrilled to participate.
Best buying experience at Sears! Go to PATSY :)

Sears Large Appliances — Aaron Muraoka
This review is totally about the salesperson Aaron… If you are in need of a large appliance and are gonna shop at Sears, make sure you go to see Aaron. I am sooo impressed. Aaron is knowledgeable, professional, polite and is GREAT at following up. He returns phone calls and calls you to remind you to come in for your scheduled follow-​up. He is a straight shooter… He’ll tell you whatever you need to know and work to make sure you get all of the discounts/​rebates within the program.
He even makes his work schedule available to you… so you can plan your visit to make sure he is there… none of this calling only to find out he’s not there… and they won’t tell you his schedule…
