I had a horrible experience here. I called and asked if I could make an appointment, but was told no appointment was needed as they were not busy. My mom and I hauled butt to this store and was generally ignored for awhile (I don’t remember anyone greeting us as we entered). Although I was told they were not busy, I was pretty much left to my own devices and received no recommendations on what dresses they had that would be suitable for me. I was very little help from the reps there and was largely dissatisfied. The whole experience made me sad.

I had the best experience at Houston Bridal Gallery! I went to 3 other bridal boutiques before I found Houston Bridal Gallery. The price range matched what I was looking for. The store had a great selection and the people were so very nice and helpful. I showed up with my Pinterest ready and the sales associate knew which dresses to pull. She was great, as she was pulling what she thought would be best, I did the same. The woman knew I was looking for something unique yet traditional and she pulled the most beautiful dress! The Houston Bridal Gallery team made my experience easy and fun from picking out the dress, personalizing my hanger, fittings to even getting my dressed cleaned after the wedding. I highly recommend paying a visit to the location. Just a side note I did end up buying my veil at a different location but please note when I showed the different store my dress via photographs they freaked out in excitement! They had never seen the dress and did not carry it at their stores.

Houston Bridal Gallery wasn’t my first stop or even my fifth stop while looking for a wedding dress. But it was definitely the last place that I went to look. I had already bought a wedding gown and when I got it in I realized I didn’t like it anymore. So I went shopping on my own and I found a local bridal boutique near my apartment in Houston. Houston bridal gallery is small but it’s filled with plenty of beautiful dresses and attentive clerks.
I was pretty sure I found the dress the first time I went there but I wanted to bring my fiancé back with me to confirm that it was the right dress and that I didn’t make the same mistake again. After I brought my fiancé back and we determined that it was the right dress the buying process was really easy. I was able to get a sash to match the dress and they even offer in-​house alterations and tailoring when the dress comes in. Not only do they alter the dress they also store the dress and your accessories for you until you’re ready to pick it up.
You even get one free press before you have to get the dress so if you have bridal portraits it works out great.
I really love my experience with Houston Bridal Gallery and I’m even taking my dress back to them to help with the preservation and cleaning process. It’s really nice to find a full-​service bridal salon in Houston that offers everything you could hope for when getting your wedding gown from beginning to end.

So we stopped in at HBG on a whim as we had finished earlier than expected at the first bridal shop we stopped into for the day. We had several hours to spare and came across the HGB website and saw that although appointments were preferred, they were not required. No biggie. We just wanted to see what they had available. We walked in and of course they said their appointments were booked for the day but that we were free to look around at any of the dresses or bridesmaid dresses. Although the consultant was attending to her appointment, she would periodically check up on my sister and I whether we needed any help or information which was nice. My sister got to try on some dresses but I was not able to which we expected. A big plus is that their sample sizes come in bigger sizes which is great for women like me who have huge hips! They even have a clearance section where dresses are sold as is. As far as pricing goes, their tags were a little on the pricier side compared to other boutiques. Not sure if price was negotiable though. Did not end up purchasing my dress here but it is a quaint little boutique!

I just finished dealing with this bridal salon as a bridesmaid and they have to have the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED IN MY LIFE! I got married in June of 2014 — and I never had to deal with any of the issues that I had when dealing with this salon. All 6 of the bridesmaids went in and tried on dresses, we got measured, and ordered our sizes according to what the sales associate recommended. When the dresses came in, I went to try mine on. It zipped up halfway and refused to budge any further, which was odd because I was definitely the same size. A sales associate came back and saw the dress and told me that the seamstress would be able to let it out, and that I should not worry. A couple of weeks later, I find out that another one of the bridesmaid’s dresses did not fit either, and they had to send hers back to the manufacturer. So I call the shop and speak to the owner — who is the rudest person I have ever spoken to in my life. She first tells me that the sales associate told me to order an 8, but I told her that I wanted a 6. COMPLETELY UNTRUE! I, in fact, told the sales woman that the fact that she was saying that I was a 6 was crazy because my wedding dress was a 10! Then, she changes her story and tells me that I should have checked my measurements that they emailed me and realized that my measurements were over the size that was ordered for me. I asked, ‘Isn’t that why you have someone in your salon that YOU hired to measure women? So that they can tell us what size we fit in according to each dress?’ Apparently, I measure bodies for a living and I am just supposed to know the size differentiation for each dress style. So they decide that the best course of action is to order additional fabric and add it to the dress. While I am at the salon speaking to the owner about the situation, she has the audacity to say, ‘We know how to add fabric to dresses because that’s what we do when bridesmaids turn up pregnant and their dress doesn’t fit.’ NEWSFLASH — I’M NOT PREGNANT — YOU MADE A MISTAKE!!! Ridiculous, who says that?! I scheduled an appointment to see the seamstress a month and a half later. I show up for my appointment and the dress is UNTOUCHED. Nothing has been done — the wedding is in 3 weeks at this point. Then, I have to make another appointment for the next week to come and see if the dress fits — by the way, I live in Katy… After all of this, the salon then tells me that I owe $ 147 for the extra fabric (that they had to order because THEY ordered the wrong dress), and an additional $ 90 to add the fabric? Yes, I know, CRAZY, right? They make all of these mistakes and show NO OWNERSHIP! Once I go back to see if the dress fits, then it is 4 sizes too big, falling off of me, and now they need to take it in. Throughout all of these appointments and conversations, the owner never showed her face from the first meeting I had with her. If my salon had screwed someone royally, you better believe I would have made a point to be at every scheduled appointment for that person, and offer some sort of fair resolution or apology. I have many friends that will be getting married in the near future, and I will do my best to make sure that they NEVER step foot into this salon.

I went to shop for a dress today, and they were having a sale on off-​the-​rack dresses. These dresses range in size from 10 to 14. Some of the dresses are nice, though. After explaining that I wear a street size zero and would have to significantly alter a size 12 dress to wear it, they did let me try on regularly priced dresses. You may have to step into the dresses here (other places will help you pull them over your head – not so here). They also limit you to try on 5 – 7 dresses in the one-​hour appointment (this might be because of the sale, though; it took me about 35 minutes to try the 6 dresses I selected to try). They were not rude in any way, they just had a lot of restrictions. Overall, an okay experience.

My sister (the bride) and I went to HBG for my maid of honor dress. We found one that we liked and I was measured and told that I needed to buy a size 22 dress because of my largest area (my hips) and that it was an extra charge to expedite the shipping since we needed it in 2 months (ridiculous). A dress that was priced at $ 180 ended up being $ 280 plus because of these fees. When I finally got my dress it looked so ugly. Definitely not worth almost $ 300. The dress fit like a BAG and was completely unwearable. I did not lose weight. Of course they wanted me to use their seamstress and assured me that it was completely «normal» for it to «look» that way. My mother in law ended up fixing my dress and it turns out that dress was not even seamed. She cut off so much fabric that the dress ended up a size 12 (my dress size). We paid just to have to work more ourselves. I am SURE that this is a scam that HBG does to make more money for themselves
Besides this, their appointment process is ridiculous as they pretend to be busier than they really are. We were «fit in» to a «busy wedding season» weekday evening appointment for one dress, only to find that the boutique was empty, we were the only ones there.
Do not go to Houston Bridal Gallery.

The consultant who helped me with my dress was great and the woman who does alterations CeeCee was great but after that it’s not so great.
I booked all three of my fittings in advance at the point I purchased my dress and then one month before when it was actually appointment time they did not have all of my appointments booked. No apologies just a we don’t have you down. The sales associate in this instance is the same one who just earned this two star review with how she treated a situation with a headpiece I ordered.
I ordered a headpiece while there and was assured it would be ready when I picked up my dress. I confirmed the date I would pick up my dress and headpiece at my last fitting. I went to pick up my dress and they told me there was no headpiece and they weren’t expecting it until the following week.
That the headpiece wasn’t there is really no big thing but that the sales associate made it a point to tell me it was my fault instead of apologizing was not ok. That she tried to give me the sample that had been on the floor at full price is really not ok. That another sales associate jumped in and was pushing me for information about my wedding when I was really just ready to leave because the first associate was just plain not good at her job is what did me in… done. It’s not the last memory of the dress process for which I was hoping. If her approach had been different it would have yielded a different outcome and review. Thank you sales person for giving me that final gift from your store.

Very cute bridal shop with a smaller selection but the staff is very helpful and nice. The interior is really nice as well with 4 dressing rooms and podiums. Worth checking out!

Go. And ask for Aisha. I wish I had gone there first on my wedding dress hunt. You will be pleased and stress free. You will love everything you try on.
Why? Because they have great, unique dresses you won’t find elsewhere in Houston. They have dresses that will make you look stylish and modern on your wedding day– Matthew Christopher and Pronovias are some of the designers they carry. Plus, they have a secret weapon– Aisha.
Aisha, the stylist I worked with, has a great eye and really knows how to clip you into the dresses. Like, she’s a pro with it. For those new to wedding dress shopping– you’ll learn that clipping is very important because it’s the only real way to show you how a sample dress may fit. I’m a very curvy girl– and she was pulling and clipping away. The girl was #werking
I did not end up getting my dress from there– I ended up going in a completely different style direction than the bridal gallery dress I was looking at. But, if I was helping a friend buy a dress this is where we would go first. I will probably go back there to get my bridal accessories, just to give them the business– their service was that good.

Let me begin by saying that coming into this appointment I had already bought my wedding dress. I was not pleased with the service or dress I bought (I didn’t get a WOW feeling) so I proceeded with the appointment.
I told my consultant Chelsea about this and she was 110% supportive with me through the ENTIRE process! She truly took my wedding dress shopping experience to another level! Unlike any other place I’d been to.
I am a very indecisive person, so of course shopping for my gown was going to be a challenge. I was completely lost on what I actually wanted and Chelsea was soooo wonderful with me! She was not pushy and gave me advice like no other. She did her absolute best to accommodate me. She played around with dresses and tried to make me feel like a real bride. Let me say, she did it! I was shocked at her level of expertise and attention.
Although I was hesitant, I took her advice and ended up LOVING a gown that she helped put together for me. I really felt like a bride! She helped put together the wedding dress of my dreams! I never thought I would be able to say that being so indecisive. Although I am still in the mix of getting the dress, I wanted to elaborate on her amazing help and service!

Just left my appointment at Houston bridal gallery, I just fell in love with one of the many dresses I tried on. I went to many different bridal shops and haven’t found «the one». My consultant Brianna was awesome! She was very sweet and patient since I’m very picky and can be judgmental on details. Hehehe Brianna even made my fiancé feel welcomed. Overall, this place is my favorite so far.

I also had the great fortune of having A’isha as my bridal consultant at Houston Bridal Gallery. She is amazing! She greeted me immediately and took me straight back and began giving me a tour and asked me lots of questions and explained how everything was going to work. She really understood exactly the style I was looking for and really respected my budget. My top pick here was actually a pick of A’isha’s that she grabbed after I had already begun trying all of my picks on and she began to understand what I liked and didn’t like. And YES, her clipping is off the charts. I actually asked if she could come with me and live in my closet and clip all my clothes on me. I’ve never loved my curves as much as I did when she expertly clipped me in these dresses. And the clipping really does make a world of difference. I had another appointment after this one and the girl couldn’t clip at all and nothing looked good and I didn’t feel good. Needless to say I left that shop quickly.
A’isha didn’t pressure me at all and handled all my questions and crazy friends and family expertly. I felt so at ease with her. I ended up keeping my other two appointments at other stores that day even though I thought A’isha’s pick was the one. I ended up finding the actual one at anther shop but I would have loved to have had the sale been with A’isha. Please request her when you make your appointment, you won’t regret it.
As for the store itself, it’s a beautiful store and the selection is wide and the prices are decent. The fitting areas are cozy and secluded and they have lots of accessories. I was offered a strapless corset bra to wear while trying on and that made a big difference. All the stores should do this, but they don’t. The whole staff is friendly and attentive. I even left behind a watch and some bracelets and was called very quickly to tell me and they held them for me for a day until I could go back.
My only suggestion would be to offer some sort of day of discount for purchasing. That was helpful where I ended up purchasing but HBG does not offer it currently.

While I did not end up finding my dress at Houston Bridal Gallery, I cannot say enough good things about my experience there! My consultant, Sarah Zarate, was AMAZING! I highly recommend requesting her if you go there! They have a beautiful selection of dresses, and they truly make you feel comfortable while you’re there. I hadn’t had this type of customer service at either of the previous two stores I had gone to. Again, while I didn’t find my dress here, I would 100% recommend this store to anyone who is newly engaged!

I only went to Houston Bridal Gallery because of the good reviews on Unilocal,and I was very pleased to find that they were correct.
Experience:
Keisha was my consultant. She was friendly and knowledgeable and was very accommodating to my rowdy entourage. The place is pretty small so you can’t bring that many people to your appointment but they do a great job making room.
I also had a great experience with another consultant when I returned, this time with my mom, to purchase the dress.
Before purchasing I went to an appt at Weddings by Debbie and though they can accommodate many people, the consultant was completely uninterested and was basically there to help me in and out of dresses that I picked out myself.
Dresses:
They carry tons of dresses that I loved, simple and elegant. I purchased an Essence of Australia, moscato (pale pink) dress. The dresses at Weddings by Debbie didn’t even come close, which sucked because I brought all of my family to this appointment, thinking it would be a great experience.
Price:
I went in with at $ 3,000 budget and purchased a dress for $ 1,500. Most of the dresses I tried on were under $ 2,000.

I couldn’t have asked for a better dress shopping experience.

I met with A’isha. I love this girl. She stuck to my budget and was always so pleasant and made me feel like I was the only one there! she was extremely patient and understanding. She didn’t pressure me or fault me for disliking something (or 20 things.) She was honest with me when I asked her if a dress gave me back fat (Don’t ask if you aren’t prepared to hear the answers, ladies!) and she told me which dresses she preferred. I liked that.
The pricing is very reasonable. I was at a 2k budget, and I asked before I even went in where their dresses started. You would be surprised how many boutiques START at 2k. and the selection is minimum at that. While HBG had lots of $$$ dresses, this was the first place that actually had an abundance of selection under 2k that was from legit designers made for the average-​priced bride. I was in heaven!
After I decided on my dress, I asked the girls how much around-​about alterations would be with their in-​house seamstress. CiCi happened to be in that day, so she came in and took a quick look. She gave me a $ 200 estimate for what I would need done. Ok, not bad at all!
(I also worked with another girl during my final pickup when I had a meltdown, and she was the best. I forgot to get her name, but I owe her for keeping me from going completely ballistic that afternoon…)

The only downfall about HGB is the in-​house alterations. Let me start by saying CiCi is wonderful. So nice and funny! But, she only comes in Thursdays, so you have to book early and all at once. I had 3 fittings. Then there is the price…
Fitting 1: was quick and a «ok lets see how big this is on you» kinda meeting. CiCi wrote up a summary of how much it would be based on current and projected alterations, subject to change. She said I would pay at the final fitting.
Fitting 2: Give it more «shape». My dress was a fishtail, so I asked her to fit under my butt to add more definition. She told me it was near impossible but she would «try». IMHO, I felt like she was just being lazy at that point. I knew this was possible. Maybe not easy, but possible.
Fitting 3: I did not see any difference. I told her it needed more taken out, because I felt like she didn’t even touch it. Even my mom agreed she saw no difference. She said ok no problem.
Prices for the fitting:
Hem: $ 220
Taking in sides of dress: $ 120
Bustle (I had 7 put in. so pretty good price): $ 105
Bust Pad inserts: $ 20
Under the butt: $ 100
Total: $ 555 BEFORE tax. So, exactly half the price of my dress.
I have talked to other brides who went elsewhere and their total fitting was ~$ 250. My friend who had her dress completely in 2 and put back together only paid $ 350. $ 555 is very far off from $ 200 and a wild exaggeration of what I felt reasonable.
Weeks up to picking up my dress people had been telling me I had been loosing weight. *I was not TRYING to loose weight. I knew better that close to my wedding, but stress got the best of me. So, I insisted on trying my dress on during pick up (4 days before my wedding day). The girls working advised against it, because it was already pressed and put in a dress form, but I would rather know now than the day of my wedding.
The girl (I forgot to get her name) helped me carefully get in to it and zip it up. She saw my face as I almost broke down into a mix of tears and profanities. No exaggeration, you could see down my dress and stare at my boobs from a foot away. the bodice was sagging like it had never been altered. The whole thing was hanging. I know I had lost weight, but there was no way I had lost THAT much. I knew she hadn’t touched the back side which she charged me $ 100 for, so it was not fitted at all. Having a mermaid style dress fit to your body is kind of what keeps it up…
She was so sweet and treaded so lightly, and said I could TRY to take it to CiCi’s house (45 min away from the shop) and she MIGHT be able to help me, maybe. No way was I putting it back in her hands. CiCi was so nice, but the dress had not changed from the 2^nd fitting minus the finished hem.
I had a complete meltdown on the way home and my mom rushed me to one of her friends that is a private seamstress for pageants and things. She took one look at it and basically said «wtf?» I told her what I had originally asked CiCi for and her responses, and she said of course it was possible! She re-​altered everything except the hem. the night before my wedding (3 days after pickup), I had a butt and my dress fit like a glove. $ 555 down the drain.
I should have gone somewhere else to begin with. There is no one to compete with in-​house seamstresses so they can set their prices at whatever. do not pay for the convenience. Take your dress and go to a trusted and well-​reviewed seamstress.

Although I did not end up purchasing my dress from Houston Bridal Gallery, I think it is still rather necessary that I issue some huge raves for the bridal stylist assigned to me — A’isha!
I’m not the most decisive person, that’s an understatement. Factor in the lofty task of selecting a wedding dress? Yeah, I’m pretty useless, quietly panicked, on the verge of a meltdown every other hour. Hence why I only wanted one or two of my friends during the whole dress shopping undertaking. A’isha probably sensed that about me (I’m sure my mentality and affect isn’t uncommon amongst brides!) and was extremely patient, accommodating, and friendly throughout the hour or so trying on over a dozen dresses. As another reviewer stated, she is quite skilled at the clipping so that I was more able to accurately envision how the dress would appear on my body, in my actual size. I was pleased at how professional she was and the whole experience felt far more relaxed than what I had anticipated (too many viewings of «Say Yes to the Dress?»).
I think the selection here is rather varied and affordable — at least my top favorites were all under $ 2000. My favorites at other bridal dress boutiques averaged a little higher, although that’s more so defined by the designers the store carries, than the store itself. Houston Bridal Gallery, like most places, recommends ordering your dress well before the six month mark (eh heh, I didn’t start shopping until 6 months out, whoops!), but A’isha advised that my favorites would all require more like 4 months due to the simplicity of the designs. There is the option to rush the orders of course, probably for a couple hundred dollars? I think there might have been an additional discount if you ordered the day of your initial visit, I could be confusing this with another place (they really do all run together after awhile), but I feel like most bridal boutiques have some sort of incentive like that — which is far more effective and respectful than strong arm sales tactics utilized by some of the large nationwide wedding dress chains.
Anyway, many thanks to A’isha for making this anxious gal a little more at ease with the whole process. I will definitely be recommending this place to any other brides-​to-​be.

I’ve been in exactly THREE bridal shops in my life. I am not in their demographic, but when the family member I love most gets married, I do what is needed.
We were early for our appointment, but still had to wait for our stylist to arrive. Not their fault, but it did give us a chance to shop around before we were helped.
Selection-​wise — I was a little disappointed. They didn’t have as large a selection as the other two places that I’d been to. With that said, some of what they had was of much higher price than even the most expensive dresses at the other places.
Our stylist was friendly and helpful. The shop was cutesy and pinteresty. (I know that’s not a word, but EVERY surface was covered in that shabby-​chic/​rustic/​almost DIY look that’s pretty popular these days.)

When a girl goes out to find The Dress, it can be scary. You feel apprehensive, paranoid that the right one won’t come along, and of course the money you’re about to spend scares the crap out of you.
But you walk info HBG, and it feels peaceful, relaxed. These girls genuinely want to help you look the best you’ve ever looked. They allow the dress to find you, rather than pushing dresses on you that aren’t your taste.
The feel here is private, classy, and elegant. And the service doesn’t stop after you but your dress. HGB is with you every step of the way to make sure you look your best.

I have to admit this place is freakin adorable. So cute & chic.
Service…is blah.
It was slow, not busy.
The consultant didn’t make me feel like a bride. Not much recommending, suggesting or tried to sell me a dress. She was knowledgable on pricing & shipping.
I was done in 25 min including consulting.
I did kinda know what I wanted, but still wanted more options to try.
I really thought this place was so cool with the atmosphere, but the service killed it.
I won’t be back.
