Shelton has drastically improved their services and customer service. I can drop off laundry and dry cleaning in the morning and get them done the same day. Additionally they often provide groupon specials. I recommend them.

This place has gone to hell. I’ve been doing my laundry here for 4 years. They changed ownership twice in the past 6 months.
I’ve gone there 4 times in the last month and they’ve never had my cleaning done on time. They say if you’re in by 9 you can pick it up after 5, but 3 times it was not ready and I had to pick it up the next day.
There prices are high and the service used to be high. Now the service is horrible and they don’t even deliver what they promise.
I live right behind the cleaners but now I drive 4 miles to another dry cleaners. Wouldn’t advise using them unless you want to take the risk of coming to a closed shop with all your cleaning locked up.

Price: $ 2.00 per item. What a bargain!
Service: Same day service if in by 7am. Very friendly staff.
Quality: Consistent work. The only drawback at times is the chemical smell that some dry cleaned clothes retain can be a little too strong.

These guys are great: convenient and inexpensive. I’m new in town, and while a couple of other dry cleaners in town have returned my clothes with stains on them, I’ve been using these guys for about six weeks and have absolutely no complaints. They are always friendly, ask whether my husband’s dress shirts need starch. They do next-​day service for dry-​cleaning, two-​day for laundry. I did find it a little weird that you pay in advance. Maybe that’s common for this price?

I have been going to Sheltons for about 3 years now after first discovering them on Groupon. I was skeptical but with the Groupon the price goes down to about 0.99 cents a piece of clothing. I can afford that! For me dry cleaning is more like a luxury treat than a basic necessity but whenever I have come here the employees seem happy and I have also noticed even with new ownership the same employees are there. Employee turnover is a constant source of interest for me as I have noticed when you have too much turnover it is not a good thing. The fact that I know the employees have been there a long time is something which is satisfying to me as it also means management treats them well. Unhappy employees are not a good thing; I certainly care about customer service even with a Groupon. In fact I was so pleased and happy with Shelton I bought them a dozen donuts last year and plan on doing it again! Thanks!

I’ve been looking for a new cleaner closer to where I work or where I live since I moved and I’ve FINALLY found a great spot. I’ve tried other dry cleaners and have been sorely disappointed with poor service and really high prices.
They have a really quick turn around (one day) and $ 4 for an entire suite is a hard price to beat. They seemed really organized and I didn’t have to wait long to get my dry cleaning.
The service was great too and the people nice. It was my first time using them and I will definitely return to become a regular customer.

I have been using Shelton Family Cleaners for nearly 5 years. Even though I do not live on the same side of town anymore, I will still make the extra commute. Why? Because not only is it significantly less expensive, but they also provide quality cleaning services (same day service too). I have tried other dry cleaners over the years all around Houston but I always come back to this one. I’ve learned my lesson. As long as I live in Houston, I will go to Shelton Family Cleaners.

Bought one of the best groupons ever for this place. Super cheap dry cleaning — and they do an excellent job. People who work here are always nice and friendly. Items are $ 1 versus $ 10 for dry cleaning.

This place is everything I want in a dry cleaners: close to home, cheap and good service. Hubbs had them clean and press (not dry clean) a white button-​up shirt, but when he got it back it had ripped on one of the seams. The girl working there apologized a lot and gave us a voucher for the price of the shirt (like $ 20? Good for 10 dry cleanings?). Apparently they send out for laundry and so the 3^rd party had ripped the shirt. Either way, Hubbs wasn’t married to the shirt and was happy to get something in return for his loss.
We’ll definitely be coming here for a long time!

I am so happy I found Shelton Family Cleaners! A few weeks ago, I had the misfortune of getting wet paint all over a brand new jacket that was a birthday gift from my boyfriend. The tags were still on it:(The paint was EVERYWHERE. It was almost completely white on the back, on half of the sleeves, and even a substantial amount on the front. I drove around for 45 minutes, being told that each dry cleaning company I visited did not have the proper equipment. I was really upset!
I started calling around to see if anyone would have the proper equipment and be able to give it a shot. After talking to several different shops, I was about to give up. Luckily, the manager at Shelton Family Cleaners said to come by and he would try. I was happy that someone said they would at least try! Even if that meant there was no hope for my jacket. I dropped it off. They were very polite. I was told to come back in two days. I wasn’t very optimistic, so I waited a week to call. They told me they were able to get most of it off. I was happy, but then realized that ‘most’ meant there was still visible white paint on my green jacket. I decided to go pick up my jacket. THE PAINT WAS GONE. When they said ‘most’, they meant all of it was gone but 2 – 3 specks that would require a microscope to see.
Thank you sooooo much:) best decision ever! Oh, and it only cost $ 1.99. Isn’t that crazy? I tried giving more money but they wouldn’t accept it.

Best laundry service ever! Done in house, so it’s really reasonably priced. $ 1.99 an item and only$ 1.59 with Unilocal checkin! The owners are really fabulous too. I’ve never been disappointed by the service or the end-​product.

In terms of quality, this is the best wash & fold service I’ve found. It’s also the most expensive and the slowest, but I’m willing to wait and spend extra for a job done right. It costs a lot more to replace lost or damaged linens than hire a good cleaning service to begin with, so I give Shelton my business. The manager always has a great attitude and the employees have all been very kind to me. I’m not sure why other reviewers say the customer service is bad. Have you been to the other wash & fold services in town? They’re terrible in comparison!

I came in with an emergency work uniform (five pieces) cleaning yesterday afternoon and picked it up today. I will be coming back here in the future. Fast, friendly, patient, and reasonable prices!

New to Houston and I’ve been looking for a good cleaner. These guys provided excellent service and quality work! I’ll definitely be back again!

My new place for dry cleaning! So far, my 1^st set of clothes came back in like-​new condition. I’m very pleased with the work and especially the price! It’s worth the 12 min drive from Uptown… where u cannot find dry cleaning done for less than $ 5 per item. I’m glad I found out about this place, incidentally from visiting the dentist next door.

This place awesome! It’s rare walking into a dry cleaner and it’s run by a local family. All the employees seem to be older high school or college kids that speak English! It’s close by & relatively inexpensive. It’s my new go to dry cleaners.

I wish I could keep going to this dry cleaning place because they are so cheap and right by my house but the poor customer service and redo’s are not acceptable.
The first issue I had was when I brought back some shirts that were not thoroughly cleaned, even though I pointed out the stains beforehand. The woman assisting me was not warm or apologetic. She told me that next time I needed to bring the shirts with the hangars and tags still attached. Well I put the shirts on and realized there were stains AFTER I took the tags off. I explained that to her but she didn’t care. So she took my clothes to redo and gave me my ticket.
I called and complained to the manager but he barely could utter an apology and did not offer to clean my shirts for free. When I came to pick up my shirts, the same lady was there. I told the attendant there were stains still on my shirts. The lady walked up and defended the owner’s poor work. She said they’ve already been re-​cleaned 3 or so times and he cannot get the stains out. Again, no apology, no warmth and no customer service skills.
I decided not to return to this cleaners because although the price is right, the service is not.
