I had so much fun at a recent paint party here. Gino actually has his own paint brand which we used to decorate canvas’s/clothing or furniture pieces from your home. He was super helpful with curating everybody’s designs. The setup was dope and they even had a DJ playing, with light bites and beer. I can’t wait to hang up my little masterpiece.

I walked in after doing some shopping at Pavement with a friend. Being new to Houston, I wanted something unique for my apartment as a welcome gift to myself in Texas. This boutique-​style thrift store has so many incredible pieces that can fit small, personal spaces and fill spacious, commercial locations.
Immediately I was drawn to the taxidermy, mostly because the owners told me they were all reclaimed/​salvaged from various places. I wanted a simple white wash done along with keeping the antlers in a natural state and an antique gray wash on the wooden mount. Email communication with them was efficient, we traded some great ideas back and forth, and they helped me decide what would look best in my space.
All in all, I’m extremely happy and satisfied with my experience. I can’t wait to mount Mikael St. John (his new name) over my fireplace. He will make an awesome conversation piece and help tie my living room together. I’m already looking into getting some frames and upholstery done with Merchant and Market, especially now that I know they can deliver on a quality product at reasonable prices.
