I recently hired Best rate moving and
make a move to Arkansaw. This was the biggest mistake I ever made They are nothing but a bunch of crooks. They don’t even have a moving truck. They come to your home pack you up and put your belonging in storage. Then they job it out to another company who you don’t even know. after a month the truck shows up with only a driver. who doesn’t know the first thing about unloading a truck. Half my things are either broken or missing Try and call them and they won’t pick up a
wife moved to Arizona and they lost or stole half her belongings

Again, do not use this company if you want your belongings to show up at their final destination. I can go on and on about my horrible experience with this company. I am hoping by sharing my experience with this company that it will save future families or individuals who may be planning a move to go another direction. Find a big name company! Had an exceptional experience using Best Rate Movers. My furniture and belongings were moved quickly out of my old apartment and into my new one with extreme care. In addition, pricing was made clear to me throughout the process. I was impressed by the professionalism shown by Mark and Mike and how easy they made my move (Thanks!). They were able to move two shelves, a desk, a single bed, a night stand, a kitchen island, a sofa, a large ottoman and about 10 boxes of clothes and belongings out of my old apartment in under an hour and into my new apartment in just over an hour. Very efficient!
No one likes moving and asking your friends to relinquish their weekend to help transport your furniture in a U-​Haul is always a painfully tall order. If you feel this way, I would certainly recommend Best Rate Movers.

This was the second time we have used Best Rate Moving The first move was seamless. After, Rick their «Visual Specialist» met with us for the estimate, (he had been instrumental in helping to make the last move great), the move was set for Sunday Nov 1^st. The three-​man crew, the foreman, Michael the driver and mover, Ceaser and Mark were hard-​working, capable, courteous, and careful. The move, which involved moving stuff from their storage facility as well as from the old house, to the new apartment became more complicated then anyone could have anticipated. After a long, tiring day, they completed the move successfully, at a cost that rightfully exceed the estimate.

I can’t lie I was a little sketchy about having people touch our personal things also reading some of the crazy mean reviews on Unilocal.But I’ve learned from Unilocaling for 11 years now that there are just angry people in the world so we gave them a shot anyway. Best Rate made our move so easy I will never lift a finger again. I’m not one for writing so I’ll keep it short but detailed.
PROS: Jason Stark is amazing and makes you fill like a family member you haven’t seen in a long time. Our whole family loved him and co-​workers (Andre — mover & Jamal — the relocation manager)
My wife (whom is pregnant btw) and I came home last week from work and at our door, Best Rate delivered a variety of boxes, tape, wrapping & ties we didn’t have to do anything.
They all came in today early smiling (even though it was already 101 outside) and made sure we wrapped everything correctly and moved everything quickly.
Great reliable & affordable service that I’ll definitely recommend to my family & friends. In short you can’t put a price on «TRUST»

DO NOT MOVE WITH THIS COMPANY! This the WORST moving company I have ever seen, possibly the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced.
First of all, the bait and switch. We gave them very explicit descriptions of everything we had. They assured us that we would not be uncharged. The quote was $ 2300.00, after they loaded our property into their truck, oops, no actually it’s $ 5000.00. They lied and then the customer service agent was never to be heard of again.
When the truck arrived they started offloading other people’s property into our house, unbelievable. Wait it gets worse. They ruined our $ 1700.00 mattress by folding it over, it arrived with a mountain ridge in the middle. They stole our $ 1200.00 leather sofa and our newly purchased $ 500.00 headboard.
We filed a claim and the settlement they offered was the legal liability limit of $ 0.60 per pound with $ 200 for our troubles totaling $ 394.00. Say what? We filed a claim with the better business bureau but they continue to hide behind their legal liability and want to take no responsibility for what they’ve done. How does a moving company lose a sofa and headboard? The answer is, they don’t, they stole them.
My impression of these people is that they stole and ruined our big ticket items to compensate for the fact that they settled the moving cost for $ 3k.
This company takes your money then robs you blind, they have no decency and feel no obligation to keep their customers happy. My wife is pregnant but they could care less. This has been a total nightmare. Please whatever you do, do not ship with this company. You will regret it.

I hired Best Rate to move my storage unit from one storage facility to another, as the first storage facility I used closed. They were on-​time, professional, brought all necessary moving equipment, and did the job quickly and efficiently. I had some shelving assembled in my storage unit — I was not sure whether it would be part of the moving gig for them to re-​assemble it in the new unit, but they assembled it without even asking, and put my items back on the shelves in the same way they were in the original unit — I did not even have to lift a finger! They made this job very easy for me and saved a lot of hassle (and several trips between the storage units in my small car!)

Helping my brother move cross country after shopping around decided on Best Rate Moving & Storage, my brother is a musician and producer and has a lot of recording equipment and instruments that are rather pricey, which I let the rep at Best rate know straight out the gate. I have never ever hired a moving company and was always leery of doing so but Best Rate Moving & Storage gave us a great estimate showed up on time and did a great job, they showed up on time, did a great job of packing up my brother’s furniture and equipment, we did have to pay a little more for some of my brother’s recording equipment. All of my brother’s belonging’s were delivered on time and nothing was missing or damaged. The mover’s were super-​cool and just really great guys, it went off without a hitch and I highly recommend these guys. Great Job!

When I called to tell them my mattress was damaged they said to put something heavy on it to see if it would squish down!!! A $ 1700 mattress with the coils completely bent is not going to squish down the man at the mattress store says it’s ruined for life ! Ive been waiting and waiting for them to make good on how they damaged my items and lost them but they keep brushing me off. I’m told the supervisor does not have a phone number!

Moving is always a pain, but I’ve done it enough to have it down to a science — or so I thought, until I moved out of state. I needed more space to move the rest of my stuff, and I needed it fast. The movers showed up when they said they would and had everything packed and wrapped and ready to go in a respectful and timely manner. I was concerned about how I would feel with a bunch of strangers rummaging through my things, but never once did I feel they crossed any line of privacy or care. There were a couple scratches here and there, but all very insignificant (for me, at least) and still in much better condition than if I had just rented a u-​haul and done it myself. I can’t speak to their storage, as I did not utilize this service, but over all I was very pleased with my experience and would recommend them to anyone in central Orange County with moving needs.

This company is a bait and switch pricing expert. They quote you low on the phone… then come and do a home inspection and deliver another low quote. The sales rep in the home tells you this is a not to exceed price. Then on the day of the move they show up… load the furniture… then tell you the sales rep made a mistake and here’s the new price. In my situation the price more than DOUBLED. So my move went from $ 8000 to $ 20,000 dollars… unbelievable. Then if you want them to take off all the boxes they want to charge you $ 5000. If you come across this company — you have been warned.
Also I added up all the damage and cost for missing goods and it comes out to over $ 12,000. I hired a professional appraiser to assess the damage. I had 20 bottles of wine missing…3 bottles of scotch missing… I had a antique large platter from Iran missing… a very nice large television stand is missing. According to the inventory provided 15 boxes and items are missing as noted by the above items.
All in all this is a terrible very expensive negative experience.

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!!!
They gave us a quote for $ 1900 dollars after we told them everything we had. We added 30 more boxes to the estimate and that bumped it to $ 2,200 when moving 890 miles and 600cu ft. On the day of the move they arrived with an Enterprise moving truck and 3 hired hands that had never moved before. One gentlemen told us «he had never loved before and was hired this morning»!!! Wow! That’s just who I want to move my personal and expensive belongings.
After arriving, they counted all boxes and came back with a new estimate… $ 5,000 to $ 7,000 !!!
Yes! That’s right 2−3X times the original estimate! And after looking at other reviews this is a common practice for this shady company! Please do your research before choosing this company.
Also, look up their reviews on BBB, multiple people have similar situations!
AVOID THIS COMPANY! Consider yourself warned!

BEWARE! BEWARE! BEWARE! These guys operate a complete bait and switch scam! After you carefully inventory all the items for your move (on their form) and receive a price, don’t be fooled. On the day of your move, when you have no other options, you will be quoted a new price that will be 2 or 3 times greater than your original price.
If you want to experience a complete shake down this is the company for you. If not, you should stay away from this scam!

These are the worst scammers you will ever encounter. They will quote you one price and when they arrive will try to double or triple the price. They will try to tack on extra fees once they have your items. Half of our items were broken and some items were straight up stolen by the driver.
The reason they have mostly good reviews? As a condition of any «settlement» you have to take down any bad reviews from them within 12 hours.
Stay far far away.

After much discussion with my wife about which mover to chose I decided on this company as from the beginning my representative there was professional and courteous. She explained the entire process from a-​z. This was a first for us as we had never moved more than a few miles away. On the day of the actual move the crew did arrive a little late because of traffic however once they started packing and wrapping they worked at a great pace. All our treasures items were wrapped extra careful. We chose full coverage protection as you never know what could happen.
They guys finished our pack up in about 8 hours. We have a five bedroom home. So not bad for the size. Dan, jimmy and Juan were great guys. After the day of pick up we asked our items be stored until our new home was ready. This process went smooth as the storage cost was added to our balance.
After about 45 days our items arrived in Washington.
There was a different crew on the deliver end, but they worked just as hard.
We did have a few scratches and dents but that was to be expected.
I am currently in process of completing our claim for those items. Overall this was a pleasant experience. I will be referring these guys out to my employer who coordinates these kinds of moves for our colleagues.

Valerie gave us a quote for $ 1900 we sent pictures of everything that was gonna be moved when the movers got to our house they changed the price to $ 5000 we were all packed don’t go with this company they are scammers they will quote you a price over the phone but on moving day they will tell you another price check out Best Rate Movers on BBB online they have complaints about there prices changing. This review is for the first part of my out of state move from Southern Cal to North Texas.
*Disclaimer: Recent reviewer, Rob S. is a friend & I chose to use Best Rate because he was using them. His unfortunate experience is different than mine. So your mileage may vary, hopefully it works out well for you.
Part 1 of my move.
The quoting & numbers game:
I dealt with Tami initially & then with Valerie. Both were upfront & careful in explaining the process and price structure.
Being that this wasn’t my 1^st, 2^nd or 3^rd time using a moving company, I understood some nuances & still asked a shit ton of questions. (ie. Some movers include packing materials, some don’t in their quotes.) This is where you really need to ask ALL the questions, so everyone’s on the same page.
My wife and I packed & labeled everything; we took pictures, and inventoried what the movers were going to take. I spoke with Valerie & Tami quite often because our list was always changing, bothi were always available to talk. It’s in your best interest to be honest here. I learned this from previous moves. If you get a quote for 120 boxes, because that’s what you told them you had, & they show up to 180 large boxes, obviously everyone’s costs are going to go up. Of course if you have 125 boxes, chances are, the movers are usually cool with that.
Our inventory started at 30 boxes & household items. But because of our constant contact with each other throughout the process, we weren’t blindsided or sticker shock when our final box count was 76 boxes & other household items. Our quote naturally went up, because we took up more space & weight. This is another example of YOU needing to keep on top of communications with whichever movers you choose. This is YOUR move. While no one enjoys seeing the price go up from the original quote, it makes sense if your inventory goes up. Tami & Valerie at no time made me feel like i was being nickel & dimed.
Day of the pickup/​loading:
After all the hard work and worrying, up until the last piece of our possession went on that truck, our pickup & loading went so very smooth.
I don’t know if it was some ploy by Tami & Valerie to lure me into a false sense of comfort & satisfaction, but they must’ve sent me their best movers, Marcos & Sal. These two guys were the shit!
Marcos was the foreman & Sal was the 2^nd in command. They both were honest, insightful, & such the professionals. Everything was clearly explained from A to Z. They did what they needed to do & weren’t lazy or careless.
Typically, in my experiences, the head guy sometimes just BS’s with the customer while the others do all the work.
Marcos was working just as hard as anyone else. So much so, I felt like the lazy one.
Anyhow, both Sal & Marcos were very careful with the packing, wrapping, taping & loading of our stuff. I can’t stress enough how this was such a pleasant part of the move. These guys took pride & satisfaction in their jobs & how they did it. I didn’t feel pressured, duped or nickeled & dimed. I felt very satisfied & confident my stuff was in good hands.
My recommendation, if you use this moving company, request to have Marcos & Sal on your crew. If you are able too, reschedule your move to get these specific guys to do it. No exaggeration here. Both these guys are good guys.
Don’t be a DICK, tip them well if you felt they deserved it. These guys work hard.
If there was one complaint I have, it’s a tiny one. It would be that I was told that the loading truck would have markers on it to show how much cubic footage my stuff took up. It’s important if the final costs of your quote relies on that information. The truck didn’t have that.
So that’s part 1 of my move. My stuff is supposed to arrive today, so part 2 will be up after. Fingers crossed and as with anything when you’re the consumer, «Caveat emptor»

I found this Conant last min. N they helped me out.
The guys came on time. Handled my furniture with care. Were polite n i felt at ease with that my items will arrive safely n Texas

I can say i am very pleased with the moving services I received from the company and the crew they sent to the day of the move, I shipped boxes off to my mom in Washington Seattle and here’s one picture of the boxes from a couple that I sent.
I recommend moving with this company and I would definitely tell my family Nd friends about it!

I used Best Rate Moving a few months ago but am finally getting around to writing the review. mostly because I hadn’t finished unpacking everything until recently. I must say this company is incredible. I was so nervous moving but Best Rate made every step of the process very simple and easy. They packed everything for me and made sure every piece of furniture was properly wrapped, re-​wrapped and packed. The crew did an amazing job properly packing our precious belongings onto the truck. I am very pleased with Best Rate Moving and would recommend them to anyone.
