Mohsen Alinaghian, OD

Unless you enjoying being patronized for following up and requesting services that 99% of optometrists provide with great pleasure to their patients I highly suggest avoiding this office. Dr. Alinaghian is a wonderful Dr/​Person, as well as his receptionist Sarah, but the other staff are rude, condescending and incompetent. Quality healthcare comes at a high price to your integrity and respect at this office.

While visiting Orange County, I started having some issues and a friend told me about Dr. Alinaghian. I hate going to the doctors and since this was my vacation, I found it even more aggravating having to take time away from my vacation to see a Dr. But in this case from the moment I stepped in until I was finished, I has such a pleasant experience. The staff are professional and extremely friendly and the Dr. is the nicest Dr. I have ever met. I followed his recommendations and after a couple of days, I had no discomfort and my vision was back to normal. I’d be a permanent patient if I live in OC.

Excellent. I purchased my daughters glasses here. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. They take the time to rebend or resize the glasses after my daughter has sat on them. They also worked well with my insurance coverage, being more concerned with our needs. We found frames and lenses that worked great. This is a wonderful place, I highly recommend their services.

Believe it or not, I was in the office the day this kid came in demanding that the office take back his opened and resealed contact lens boxes and give him new boxes in a different brand. After the office refused, due to the fact that the were opened and used, He got really upset and left. 10 minutes later, he came back with a stack of printouts from numerous review sites and said that if the office didn’t do as he said, he would ruin the Doctors reputation online. I am so glad that the office stood their ground. My family and I have been patients of Dr. Alinaghian’s for years. He is a fantastic Doctor and his staff is very helpful and accomodating. I don’t usually write reviews, but as a business owner, I know how difficult it can be to protect your image online. Plus, I knew this kid would try everything he could to hurt the practice. The office should consider suing for slander… They have a concreate case, especially if they have a security system showing his actions that day. The only advice I have for Frasier M (if that’s his real name) is to grow up! You won’t get anywhere in life by lieing and threatening people.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Alinaghian for over 12 years, and what I like about him is that he is very thorough; he really takes the time to thoroughly examine your eyes and explains any condition you have in detail. I have never felt like he/​his staff wants to rush you out of the office (which is something quite unique these days). I also like the staff they are supper friendly and do their best to work with your schedule!

I have been going here since I was a little girl and Dr. Ali is really the best. His staff is so accommodating and helpful. They really go out of their way to help you pick out the best frames for you based on your facial shape, price range and what you have a preference for.
Dr.Ali is highly experienced in his field. He does a through examination. He does multiple exams to see what your eyes are like. His exam room is very clean, tidy and comfortable. He really accommodates your needs as a patient.
Overall, the atmosphere, office and staff is professional, welcoming and Clean. The glasses were neatly organized and when I didnt see what I wanted, the nurse brought out 4 more boxes and informed me that she could order other frames.
I don’t understand why there are rude comments and attacks on the staff and office. dr. Ali is as good as it gets. he doesn’t treat you like walking money and you aren’t in and out like an assembly line. Dr. Ali and his staff are truly dedicated to the patients

Dr Ali, his nurse, and front desk receptionist Ebony are incompetent, pricey, and lack bedside manners. There have been instances where Dr Ali had filthy unwashed Tuna-​smelling (blech) hands when he was testing my eyes. Ebony has a very syrupy and sweet voice that tends to mask the vicious and cutthroat nature that she has. The Nurse is arrogant and only nice during payment time. Their glasses and contacts are overpriced, and for the life of me, they can never get their prescription right despite all the digital contraptions the Doc has!

Dr. Ali is a wonderful doctor with lots of experience. I have been going to him for over 8 years now. He takes the time to give you education on your eye visits on topics that pertain to you. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Alinaghian is great, he takes the time explain things to you about your eyes. Our whole family goes to him and are very happy with the service and guidance he provides. All the staff is extremely friendly and Ebony is great!

I have been taking my daughter to this optometrist for over 3 years. Every time I go in they make me change my prescription to buy new glasses. This place IS A RIP OFF!!! I am so fed up with how they treat their patients… The clinic is always empty and they are always trying to sell you something even if you dont need it. Last time I took my daughter for her eye exam and they sold me this program that is suppose make her vision improve. Well after going back and forth with everyone changing the story of what happened and why they never got results the Dr. keep feeding me different stories which at the end he blamed me for what happened and the receptionist told me that I cancelled the program when I never even called her back, I was planning to solve the matter when I went in for my daughters appointment but as soon as I walked in they all jumped me. This is the worst office I have seen by far, not only they do not care about your well being they are just money hungry and rude people. I WOULD NEVER recommend this place to anyone. They are very shady and just want to rip you off and get all your money!!! Please do your self a favor and avoid Dr. Mohsen Alinaghian and his entire practice…

Dr. Ali and his staff has been taking care of our family since we moved to Irvine, CA in 2007. He is great with the kids and gives us a lot of good information. His staff is very courteous. My daughter Hannah always looks forward to her visits with him.

Dr. Ali is the BEST! I have been going to him forever! He has been my eye docotr since they opened the office in IRvine and I was just a young kid. I now live in LA and I still drive out to go see them because I dont trust anyone else with my eyes.
I have BAD vision. I am talking blind as a bat vision. Dr. Ali has always been extremely helpful and informative on my needs and wants.
The lovely ladies up front are always super helpful with settign appointment answering quesitons and helping you pick out the perfect frames for your face.
If you need a good eye dr. in OC Dr. Ali is the absolute BEST. Plus he takes all the major insurances (I should know as my insurance has switched liek 500 times in the yeras I have seen them.)

Great doctor. He ran many tests and gave detailed explanation about my eyes (many that I didn’t know of). The staff was friendly and told me exactly how much I would pay before going into the exam.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Alinaghian for at least 10 years.
Dr. is awesome, very prompt, very willing to answer any questions you may have. will write prescription so you can purchase glasses/​contacts on your own if you so request. The front has some tendency to push a little for you to purchase there but I’ve gone 50÷50… their price is fairly reasonable.
Ebony in the front is very cool, can get your appt time and other admin questions/​issues resolved quickly.
oh, Dr. is awesome with kids. My 7 year old doesn’t mind the eye exam at all…

I have to revise my review after several follow-​up visits.
So, at the end of my first appointment for my hurting right eye in early August, I decided to get a pair of glasses. They didn’t have anything other than designer, so I just picked out a frame I liked. Juicy Couture, so it was about $ 200, excluding lenses. The total for the glasses came out to about $ 480. It took two weeks for them to send to the lab.
When I got them, I couldn’t see well with them. I knew right away that this was the case, and told the receptionist. She said she’d try to adjust them, and then attempted doing so with her hands instead of tools. It didn’t work (duh).
I tried wearing them but couldn’t because of the halo effect it had when I viewed lights and lamps. Tried driving with them at night when everyone had their headlights and brake lights on, and it was just crazy.
I brought them back, and they sent it back to the lab for them to check the lenses, to see if the prescription was correct. That took another day or so, and they said everything was fine. Heidi (the doctor’s assistant?) decided to make, with my consent, custom-​make nose pads, for my bridge-​less Asian nose.
I went back to try them on again, and they gave me these tiny nosepads that dug into my nose. I asked for bigger ones, like the ones I have on current pairs of glasses, and they kept trying to convince me that it was fine. I also asked them to adjust the nosepads on one of my current pairs, which I never wear except when I’m outside, because it has a clip-​on portion; otherwise, the glasses are too tight on my head. They adjusted them fine.
Then, I asked them to adjust another pair, which is my usual pair, but after awhile, Heidi went to do something else, and the receptionist tried to help (again, without tools). It actually made the problem worse.
So I got the Juicy Couture pair looked at by the doctor (finally, after 2 – 3 visits), and he realized that the lenses had to be made a particular way, so it had to be sent back to the lab. I asked him to change the nose pads and he said ok.
Today, two months after I placed my initial order for the glasses, I went to pick them up, and while I can see much better than before, the nose pads were not changed. They were the same small ones as before, and if you know anything about force and pressure, you’ll know that the smaller the surface area is, the more pressure there is. Just like it hurts more when stepped on by someone wearing stilettos than with sneakers. I tried to tell Heidi to change it to something bigger, and she said it’s only going to dig into my nose. I KNOW that’s caused by how the nose pad is angled and positioned, not because it’s bigger.
After just 10 mins of wearing the new glasses, I take them off and what do I see? Red marks on my nose from the same small nose pads that were supposedly better.
I’ve spent over $ 500 on this pair already (including lab fees for the nose pads), and I hate it. I dunno if I should just take it to another place where they’ll actually listen to me, or if I should try to make these people listen to me and adjust my glasses the way I asked.
I’m so fed up with this place. The doctor himself is nice and helpful. He told me things about my eyes that I never knew – how one of the eye’s muscles is weak and needs to do «pencil push-​up» exercises. The assistant and receptionist are nice too, but spend too much time and energy trying to tell you how great you look in your new glasses rather than listening to you and make sure they fit the way YOU want them to, instead of insisting that «it’s fine.»
I’ve been wearing glasses for over 22 years. Don’t you think I know how I well I can or can’t see, how I feel in them? I’ve gotten probably 15 pairs from various opticians in my life and I’ve never had to wait more than one week for a pair or go through this much hassle, and I’ve always spent much less than this, like half or ¹⁄₃ less.
If you want to check on your eyes’ health, this is a good place to go. But if you want glasses, avoid it like the plague.

My eye doc OWNS.
I have bad vision. I wear contacts and glasses (not at the same time). I’ve had corneal ulcers (eek — not fun)… dry eye… I mean FO REALdry eye… like, Parched Eye.
I can’t see more than 3 inches in front of my face sans vision correction. My eyes are shaped like eggs, not ping pong balls. I think I’m one «drunken night of passing out in my contacts» from going blind.
Seriously.
It’s all true.
I have been going to Dr Ali since moving to California several years ago. What I love most about my visits are that I feel like a person, not a patient. As we go through the exam and these wicked cool laser snapshots of my eyes are taken, he explains to me just What The Heck the Yellow and Red areas mean… what is going on with me eyes and what I can do to give myself better eye health. It’s, like — he’s a doctor that CARES!!!
I think it is superbly cool that he can show me on a screen my eyes in 2001 and my eyes in 2008. Cause one day I am really hoping for Lasik. I’ve been wearing glasses since I was 8, come on!
I highly recommend Dr Ali. If you are looking for a great doc and work/​live in or around the Irvine/​Tustin area — he seriously OWNS.
