Switched to this pediatrician, and my experience with her and her staff has been wonderful.
This pediatrician office was much closer to my home (Great! Especially with young children)
This pediatrician office has a parking structure (shared, the «public parking» structure near McDonald’s, metered parking)
This pediatrician office currently has LATE HOURS on on day a week! Thursday’s they are open from 1:30p-8:30p (Call to double check), and I think they are closed on this day for a dinner hour… but that is AWESOME! I was told that these hours were to cater to patients/​parents who work late, etc.
Their office waiting area is clean, and organized. There is a small table with toys for kids to play with. Their patient rooms are big — in some of the rooms I’ve been in — there is a bench for parents to sit, as opposed to just a chair, stool, etc. There are toys and books in every room.
Now, the more specific details.
The staff here have awesome communication. They call to remind you of appointments, they answer the phone promptly during their office ours, and the nurses are very helpful. You can definitely tell that her nurses have a lot of experience with children also. Appointments are usually readily available (important, especially if your child is sick, etc.)
Dr. Gail Nakaichi has a lot of background and experience in pediatrics. She is very kind, and sociable. Aside from that, she is very informative. Most of the time, a lot of my questions are answered before I even get the chance to ask them. She explains things in a way where parents can understand fully the procedures, the tests, any results, etc. Every visit I have had so far, I left completely satisfied and all of my questions are answered. However, one of the most important things that Dr. Nakaichi does is wait after she is done talking to see if you have any questions. I feel like she does that because she wants parents/​patients to leave with all questions answered. She also has a lot of resources (hand-​outs, research, she has no problem giving referrals, etc., if you need one!).
Best pediatrician, ever!

been with this pediatrician from the day she started. has liked her and her staff. same faces, maybe a few changes over the years but other than that very helpful and compassionate people!
