Their Pablo drink and Coffee Toffee frozen drink are great. It’s their slow scheduling and lack of notice that keeps their score down. Need better use on social media and messaging to get word out to let customers know if they are behind schedule or not going to be where they are supposed to be. EDIT: The second I just posted the original review they announced, via Twitter, they are having electrical issues. Yet I still stand by the original comment that good use of social media makes getting word out quickly about timing/location/menu items helps customers. Also, their drinks are very good.

CoffeeCakeKC, you just made my day! As an intrepid hard-working desk jockey, I often find that shortly after lunch, my attention span and motivation get zapped requiring a great deal of mental fortitude and a hard kick in the pants(which requires much contortion to do to yourself) to remain productive. But today, CoffeeCakeKC came to my rescue completely eliminating any need for contortions, and for that, I am ever-so-grateful. CoffeeCakeKC offers a variety of coffee drinks(did you expect any different?) as well as cupcakes, cookies and… well…coffee cake(again, really… did you expect any different?). I cannot comment on the baked goods at all, because what I needed, all I needed, was a caffeinated jolt to the system to jumpstart my afternoon and they delivered with the Truffle Shuffle, a rich sinful coffee drink with a double shot. Wahoo! And they served this life-saving elixir up very quickly and with a nice friendly heartfelt smile. So what else can you ask for? Well, if you’re me, you might be ultra-demanding and ask for convenience, and they deliver that for me by showing up to my workplace a couple of times a week.

KC is not exactly a new wave coffee Mecca, but we are lucky to have a handful of local artisan coffee shops that know coffee drinks and espresso inside and out. And now one of them is on wheels! CoffeeCakeKC rivals the best non-truck coffee shops in the metro. The espresso coming out of this truck is in the top 5 in KC.

Love the big orange truck and the people inside! CoffeCakeKC came to my son’s graduation paty, parked in our driveway and were the smash hit of the event. Melanie and Brian were fabulous to work with, quick with communication in planning, and met our needs perfectly. The coffee drinks and smoothies were outstanding(the Mexican spiced cocoa was my favorite!!) and enjoyed by kids and adults. The food was fabulous as well as the coffee. I will be looking for them at First Friday, not only for their coffee, but to say HI as well. To top it all off they are two of the friendliest people you’ll meet. If you need a fun graduation party idea, have them come to yours!!!

I love Coffee Cake KC and I love the fact that they have several locations around town on different days that you can hit them up. The newest location is the Merriam Farmer’s Market. The City of Merriam ran power for them, so they don’t have to run their generator so it is nice and quite. So I have been here 3 weeks in a row to get my coffee fix. Two friends turned me on to the Baron Blended which I had yet to try and now I am addicted to it. It is my new favorite. Stop my and grab a cup of coffee and check out the market.

Wow, where do I start with CoffeeCakeKC? It is very obvious by the reviews that people love CoffeeCakeKC. Before starting my shopping adventure in the Westbottoms with Roshelle H we both picked up a dirty chai. I was so glad we did, because it was a little cold when we started. That drink kept me nice and warm. Also gave me the little kick I needed for waking up that early on a Saturday. About 5 hours later I decided I wanted to take a piece of coffee cake home so I dropped back by and picked up one to-go. I asked Cassie if she wanted to eat it with me she said«Oh I will have one bite». 2 minutes later and she had devoured that piece of cake. I ate what I could, but wished I had bought more than one piece. That piece of coffee cake was so amazing. Moist and delicious! I loved my dirty chai, and I loved my coffee cake. They weren’t my favorite part of the experience though! The customer service these 2 provide are crazy. They are so friendly and happy to see everyone it is crazy. Even if they had a medicore product I’d still return just to chat with them.

This truck should change names to, ‘Lifesaver!’. The one lamentable fact about the East Crossroads is this: THEREISNOWHERETOGETCOFFEE!!. Sure, we have concert venues, event venues, bike share, hell, we even have the newspaper! But we do not have any coffee. The brick has a teenie tiny espresso machine but that just really doesn’t work out too well for me, especially if they’re busy. Enter, Lifesaver. I mean, CoffeeCakeKC. While their lifesaving only takes place for 15 minutes once a week, my love for them endures. Thursday afternoons between 1 – 1:15 mean that I can get the ‘Pablo’- spiced mocha, no whip,(easy on the chocolate) with a side of pep in my step. The two who run the truck remembered who I was on my second trip there, and my order. That’s pretty incredible, really. They see a lot of people in the week between my trips. Yesterday, they made my week again by giving me a punch card to help fuel and reward my addiction. Now, after 10 ‘Pablos’ I can get one free! Maybe I’ll use the opportunity to save money on my coffee and try one of their 3 Women and an Oven cupcakes. With flavors like Champagne and wedding cake among dozens of others, I’ve escaped temptation so far, but barely. I have tried a pumpkins streusel muffin(which took me 3 days to consume because they are gigantic) and it was scrumptious. A tad dry by the third day but that is to be expected. Heating it up made it even better so I didn’t mind. Coffee-wise, these guys are not going to amaze you with flawless latte art(theirs is decent tho) or $ 6 pour-overs. They are perfect when you want to treat yourself to a rich hot chocolate or espresso drink on a cold afternoon and even when you need to indulge a sweet tooth. And that is just fine by me! I can go to Quay or Oddly, or *gasp* make my own coffee, any other day. By Thursday, I want a treat and CoffeeCakeKC has my back every time. Thanks!

I have yet to try their coffee but their apple crumb coffee cake muffin keeps me coming back every time. Friendly people, I can’t help but follow the big orange truck where ever it rolls to.

Fridays are my favorite — Friday is «coffee truck day.» I’m one of the people who used to be glued the CoffeeCakeKC schedule and hunt the orange truck down, I love it so much. I’d catch them in the West Bottoms or on First Friday, or make excuses to run errands and catch them at one of their various office stops, but now my life is easier: they have a weekly stop in Overland Park! I grab my Friday Mocha Freeze, my favorite blended coffee drink in KC. I’ve had the occasional cupcake or Mexican cocoa — anything that comes out of that window is pure gold! — but I am a creature of habit. I go with my favorite, and though I’d like to order one of everything every time, I generally stick to one item only for the sake of my hips. I did try the coffee cake recently and OHMYGOSH. Life-changing? Yes. I guess I’ve always thought that, for a dessert, coffee cake was«just okay» and prone to being a little dry and crumbly. NOTHERE! I’ve never tasted something so cinnamon-y and heavenly. It was so moist and cake-like. The icing was a perfect complement to the spice and dough. I’ve never had anything like it. It’s going to be hard not to order a piece every time I’m there. Stubbie and Melanie are über cheerful! It’s so nice to see their smiling faces at the window, and I love that my dollars are staying with a small, local company. And I also love that they make damn good coffee and dessert. Take a look at their website and see when they’ll be in your neck of the metro!

We tried this truck in the west bottoms while shopping at the vintage markets. It was a perfect location because we were cold and hungry. Our friends with are us super picky and they loved what they got! The coffee was so amazing. Full of rich flavor without being to dark. I can’t wait to run into the truck again and try more of their treats.

Pretty much any time I see this truck, my mental dialogue goes something like this: «Oh goodness. You better not get anything at that truck. It’s so bad for you» «well, maybe just a coffee» «well, why have regular coffee when you can have a vanilla latte?» «well, why would you just get a coffee drink and not eat coffee cake?» «I will eat ALLOFTHECOFFEECAKE!» And then I get fat. But I don’t care, because I am full of deliciousness, which makes me jolly. And everybody loves a jolly Matt.

My boyfriend’s lucky enough to have these folks hit up his work every Thursday. Seriously, these guys are the sweetest people — and the espresso is far and away the best in the city.(Well, maybe second to Broadway Coffee — but only by a hair.) I haven’t tried the cupcakes, alas, but they look excellent, and the woman who sells them is simply darling. Sniff this place out: it’s worth it.

Yum! I love coffee cake and as their names says, they serve it up. The bf and I have partaken in the offerings of CoffeeCakeKC on a few occasion. Every time so far has been in the chill of winter, well in the slight chill of the winter. Our latest encounter was during the«first weekend» antiquing bonanza in the West Bottoms. This little food truck was parked on 12th and we were both very happy to see them. He had a latte and I a black coffee. Both of us were very happy with how our caffeinated treats tasted. We also chowed down on an amazing slice of coffee cake, great for anyone on any diet. Well veggies perhaps, not someone looking to «diet» and loose weight. Fluffy and thick, moist and cinnamony. The lovely peeps inside the truck are super. Very friendly, helpful and quick. While we were there the line literally tripled in size, they just continued smiling and helping their customers as efficiently as possible. I love trucks like these, especially in the colder months because they make outdoor urban activities so much more fun. Anyone can enjoy their food. I look forward to trying one of their ridiculously great looking cupcakes! Job well done CoffeeCakeKC!

I decided that I didn’t want to walk all the way down to 13th& Main to go to one of the coffee shops to pick up one of the bestest fall drinks: pumpkin spice latte. I remembered that CoffeeCakeKC was at the KC Green Fair today(9.22.11) & wanted to finally try them out. DELICIOUS! I LOVED the pumpkin spice latte! Definitely well worth the walk across the street for! I will have to chase you all down, the next time I see the truck drive by! Until next time…

I loved everything about CoffeeCakeKc’s bright orange truck at the Electric Park Unilocal Event and after the Food Truck Festival I might possibly adore them even more. Out of all the trucks at the Festival in Westport, this God-send of a truck was the one I wanted to visit the most. I enjoyed a blended mocha and Rhonda S. ordered a root beer float cupcake which she shared with me. Both were delicious! My favorite aspect of this truck is their un-dying friendly customer service. They always treat you like you are their number one customer(which I am!) and that you deserve all the attention in the world. Love these guys and wish them the best of luck!

These were the people at the Electric City, and they were also at the Westport Food Truck Festival. I attended this with Sara D. She knows coffee, me, not so much, lol. It is a truck, with EFHobb’s coffee. I’ve not actually had the coffee. But I think the foodtruck idea is fantastic, and I love every minute of it .I’ve had better food from foodtrucks, than restaurants, and certainly better service. This truck(the orange coffee truck) is no exception. While Sara ordered coffee, I chose a cupcake. I had the choice of several cupcakes, and chose the one I couldn’t figure out how they made(I fiddle with cakes and ingredients and cupcakes and frosting nearly every weekend). So therefore, when given the opportunity, I tend to order the flavors that I’d not think of. At the Westport Foodtruck Festival, they had an outstanding amount of cupcakes to choose from and i ordered the rootbeer float belly cupcake. It was definitely made from scratch. I can tell scratch cakes and mix cakes in the first bite or two, normally. It had a taste of ginger, and rootbeer was fragrant and I could taste it. I’m trying to figure out the icing, it was more like a creamy icing, but could’ve had marshmallow. It had a rootbeer jelly belly on top. The cake was moist all the way through. I don’t remember the price. But the yumminess of the cupcake I’ll never forget.

I remember the first time I saw a coffee truck in New York City’s Union Square(Mud Truck) and I thought, what an fantastic concept, considering at that time finding a non-corporate cup of coffee in Manhattan was pretty difficult unless you were willing to walk to the EV or WV. So, I am 100% behind this idea coming to fruition now in Kansas City, where it is admittedly a lot easier to find a non corporate cup of coffee, but try to do so in the evening, especially weekends after 3pm, and you’re SOL. Or, perhaps you’re having a busy workday and can’t get in your car to locate some caffeine. Not to mention, when there are events around town like First Weekends in the Bottoms and you find yourself needing some little boost to get you in for the long haul or art walkin’ and antique pickin’(yes, this was me on Saturday). Enter CoffeeCakeKC offering up some of the best roasted bean juice in town! What was it, 95 degrees on Saturday? Nothing like an iced Americano(with soy milk, yay!!) to brighten these languid, humid days and CCKC’s is perfect in flavor(nutty, strong, not bitter). I was too hot for a baked good, but I look forward to this option in the future. They look/smell divine! Not to mention the fact the people behind this operation are extremely nice, so ordering up is a pleasure. Be sure to subscribe to their Twitter feed so you can stalk them for that which keeps your motor runnin’.

Stopped in to sample the offerings that had been whipped up for the KC Star Food Truck event this past Friday. The Chocolate Cherry was perfect. The cherries in the cake kept it really moist and it had good chocolate flavor. The frosting had real fruit in it, sweet and just a tiny tart from the cherries. Delish!
