Sucks ass. They messed up my nails & made my nails bled and blamed it on me. They gave me an attitude when I walked in the second time to have my nails fixed. I may sound like a bitch but they are not professional at all

There is a review of this business that, as a long time (5+years) loyal customer, I have to call out. She listed prices that are not even remotely close to this Center Nail’s prices, so I can’t help but wonder if the reviewer had the wrong store. Nu and her staff are amazing. They all speak great English, are sweet, helpful, polite and professional. I am REALLY fussy about my nails, I used to spend $ 75 for a pink and white fill, but since finding Center Nails, I now spend $ 70 for my fill, a spa pedi and tips. I’ve been coming here for at least 5 years and never once have I had a bad experience. Nu, the owner, also does eyelashes and she’s great.
There unfortunately some people who are never happy, so my guess is that the 1 and 2 stars are that type of person, and/​or the staff might have been having a bad day. Nu will ALWAYS make things right, she and her staff are the right blend of humility and integrity combined with hard work.

Have been here in the past and service was better, maybe just a bad day. However, I came in here yesterday for a pedicure with my friend and we both noticed the water was cold (not something you expect when getting a pedicure). Then the liners they use in the bowls did not seem very effective water was constantly going underneath them and they would get caught up in the bowl. Along with that, the service was very quick, I didn’t feel like enough time was spent on the pedicure and not much was done.

I’ve gone here a couple times and each time in the past have not been overly excited about the service or the staffs attitudes. This time was the dinger though.
I’m not sure how I was charged $ 53 for a spa pedi, a shellac mani and a joke of a lotion application; when the gal next to me who received an Acrylic mani, a spa pedi AND received a 35 min massage! was charged $ 21~~ The sign for pricing says $ 30 for spa pedi… and $ 28 for shellac nails… It’s obvious that they don’t change according to the service. I get it, it’s their business and can charge what they’d like but I won’t be coming back. I pay well and tip well for a job well done.
The even bigger joke was my heals were roughed up more when I left then when I arrived… and after asking the owner/​manager? to smooth them out, she said she can’t because it might hurt me. So I had to come home and finish the job:(

I tried to get my nails done here but I guess they don’t like money. I showed up 35 minutes before they closed wanting a gel manicure and was told to «come back tomorrow.» When I pointed out what time they closed the girl just said not enough time tonight. At max my nails would have kept them 10 minutes after closing. With customer service like that I will definitely not «come back tomorrow.»

I used to love this place. But this last year they’ve really gone down hill. There is ONE person who is good. Everyone else acts like they would rather chat or do anything but give pedicures and manicures. The last time I got a manicure the lady was on her phone the entire time. On top of that, the quality isn’t very good. They alternate between being a little rough to not doing enough.
I’m not sure how the pictures showed designs. I’ve been going here for 4 years and even when they were good, they would act like I was crazy when I asked for a design on my nails. I stopped asking.
They do charge less if you pay cash. So if you want to try it out, take cash so you can save a few dollars.
It feels like to me, the management changed (I know there was a good amount of turnover in the employees too).

Hadn’t been here in over a year as I had a baby, just decided to start going again. What happened?!! The good — plastic liners in the bowls for sanitation, awesome! The bad — sad sad pedicure from two different technicians… incredibly quick, hardly any massage, barely worked on my my heels. Part of getting a pedicure isn’t just having cute toenails for a few weeks, it’s having your feet cared for and to enjoy a little bit of relaxation. With a million nail salons in the area, sadly I’m not sure I’ll be back

I used to love this place. I never had a bad experience.
That is until recently. I went a few months ago. And the lady who was doing my nails was talking on her phone the entire time she did my nails. I felt it was very unprofessional.
Then the last time I went the lady didn’t cut my nails very short, after I asked for shorter nails. And she didn’t even out my nails, so some of them looked weird.
Whenever I leave a tip they always seem mad at me for not giving them more money. I always try to leave a $ 5 tip, which I feel is fair. But apparently they expect more.
I don’t ever plan on going back.

I’ve been to Center Nails a few times and it’s pretty ok for the price you pay. I’ve gotten pedicures and manicures (just regular nail polish) each time and the service was great. I was a few minutes late one time, but it was no problem and was taken care of right away. I’ve never had a problem making an appointment even with a next-​day appointment. The ladies are pretty quiet, which I appreciate as I like to relax and not have to worry about small talk.
The pedicures are good and I would recommend getting your pedicures done here. The ladies are attentive and the polish doesn’t chip easily.
The manicures are ok – tend to chip after a couple weeks. I picked a dark colored polish the last time I was at Center Nails and the polish started chipping within a week. It was really noticeable and unfortunate that it happened so soon after the manicure. :(

I consider myself pretty picky when it comes to nail salons. I want a great manicure or pedicure for a reasonable price, and I’m so pleased that I gave Center Nails a chance. I now come here about twice a month for pedicures, and occasionally get manicures too (I’m a violinist and have to keep my nails short, so the only reason I don’t get manicures more often is because there’s no point).

Pros:
— It’s sanitary: The techs wear gloves and the salon in general is very clean
— They’re thorough: I’ve never had to ask them to re-​do my polish or go back and fix something. They always check their work themselves
— They listen: Seriously, they actually listen to what I want. If I say I want my nails a certain shape, they do it.
— Great massages! And, they get better if you’re a repeat customer and tip well. Now that they know me, I feel that I get wayyyy more than I pay for in terms of the quality of service.
— Great prices: Very, very inexpensive for the area. If you pay with a card, the base price for a full spa pedicure is $ 23. I believe the cash price is $ 21. Honestly, I don’t know how they can give such good service for so cheap in the Houghton/​Bridle Trails area.
— Easy to get in to be seen: I’ve only made an appointment a handful of times because it’s just easier to walk in. Even if they’re busy, I’ve never had to wait more than 10 minutes. And, since I’m most often there for a pedicure, they usually let me wait in a massage chair with my feet in that warm bubble bath. Oh, darn :).
— Really nice nail polish selection, and all name-​brand polish (mostly OPI)
— Lots of free parking & it’s easy to find; the spa is located in a strip mall at one of the neighborhood’s main intersections
Con:
— Hours: I wish they were open later in the evening.
Do your nails and your wallet a favor and give this place a try! It may look like your average, cheap-​o nail salon on the outside (I was skeptical at first), but their service, attention to detail and great prices will make you glad you walked in.

I made an appointment for two for a spa pedicure here and was able to be seen the same day. We were even running 10 minutes late, but they greeted us with open arms and promptly started on our pedicures.
First impressions: The nail salon is located in the strip mall near Tech City Bowl. It’s not hard to find and parking is a breeze. Walking in, the place is very clean and spacious. They have a great selection of nail polish for you to choose from.
The nail techs were very very friendly. They didn’t say much and appeared very focused in their work, which I didn’t mind because I don’t chit chat much anyway. I appreciated that they wore gloves because I get grossed out when other places don’t.
In the end, their meticulous work produced great results! Clean, super affordable, and great work. Loved my pedicure!

This is my favorite manicure place. It’s clean and bright, and the staff are always nice. My teenage daughter likes to ask for unusual artwork on her toenails and they always try to accommodate. Prices are very reasonable. It can get busy, but you can usually get in without an appointment.

I really wanted to like this place since it’s so close to my home. I stopped by here today and they rushed through my pedicure. I even had to tell them to remove the callouses off my feet. I opted to not get the manicure and I went to another salon.
My advice, go to another salon.

Been here twice and I actually like it. Do know that you should bring cash for they offer a better cash rate over the credit/​debit rates. First time I came was during my lunch and they fit me in right away! It is cool that they actually have more than 3 people available.
Second time I visited was yesterday, I had a shellac mani which ended up being 30 I asked why and Alvin (who is sweet btw) and he said they charge $ 5 for removing the previous shellac. Not a big deal for Kirkland because the rent is too damn high. I know it is a must to charge for the small things. Overall, my experience was great and I will definitely be going back during my lunch hour in two weeks!

Went here with my friend to get our nails done before my Birthday dinner. Had a good experience overall. The staff was not very interactive but were nice. I got a shellac manicure and I must say, they have a huge selections of shellac colors which I have not seen elsewhere. Manicure was OK, pretty quick and basic. Prices are great! 25 $ for the shellac and if you pay with cash its 10% off.

They do a great job, reasonably priced, clean. No, they don’t talk to you a whole lot but I don’t mind that. They do have a TV so I can watch the news when I’m there and they play good music too.

I go here on a fairly regular basis. I’ve had some good and bad experiences here. Waxing and acrylic nails are always great. Alvin and the owner do the best job for acrylic nails. I’ve had shellac done here once, and it wasn’t so great. The person, who no longer works there, filed my nails too thin, the polish started chipping almost immediately. The pedicures are average. I usually just opt for a polish change and do the pedicure myself at home.

I always get good service here. Pretty results for the price. Staff is friendly. They usually aren’t very chatty. That is ok with me but if you think you will feel ignored or awkward this one may not be for you. I didn’t give 5 stars because this is where you go when you want to get in and out with a nice manicure or pedicure. My expectations are met, not exceeded.

I have been coming here for 4 years now. I moved back to Kirkland and was recommended here by a friend for great waxing. She was right. I have received the best brow waxes here by Nu (the Owner) and Lynn. I started coming here for my acrylics and pedicures as well. They are very reasonable and efficient. The staff here is very friendly. Maybe it’s because I am a regular but the whole staff always makes a point to say hi Dee! The salon is very clean… from the tables to chairs to waxing room to the bathrooms. Huge must since I have OCD…
When they are not super busy they will throw in a longer massage. BONUS!!!
They are honest. I have asked the Owner before if I should get a fill or if it was time for a wax yet and she has said no… You don’t need it yet… Most people would have said yes to make some money. Yes they do speak in Vietnamese but you never get the feeling they are laughing/​talking about you or their customers.
They are busy though so I would recommend calling or being ok with waiting for a bit on busy days. They will always accommodate their customers by staying late though.
I have gone to other places before when they were busy or when I saw a Groupon for a «great deal» but have always regretted it… I can honestly say I will never do that again. They have a loyal customer for as long as I live close and they are in business…
I recommend Center Nails to anyone who resides on the Eastside and wants a salon that is focused on quality, customer service and that is affordable.

Maybe it’s just me. Maybe I’m destined NOT to have acrylics. After the day I’ve had, this theory actually holds water.
My two acrylic techs moved away, so I turned to Unilocal to get referrals to other nail salons in my area. I read good things about Lilly Nails in Redmond. It didn’t work out (read my review about my dismal experience there earlier today). My nails were like talons as I waited too long to get them shortened and filled, so I turned to Unilocal,read good things about Center Nails, and booked an appt for 5:30pm today.
I got there early, at 5pm, and I told them I was early and could wait. Still, a gal approached me and said she could see me then. Bonus! I was impressed with the little salon: it was clean and there was a decent selection of polish colors to choose from. Then things kinda went south from there…
The tech began working my nails, not saying a word to me. I realize she’s focussed on the task at hand (no pun intended!), and there may be a language barrier, too. But no, she understands my chit chat just fine, but she responds tersely. if at all, using one-​word responses. I told her that my co-​worker and I were in the market for a nail salon, and that we go monthly, and that I pass this salon en route to work (thinking she’ll realize that, hey, here’s a potential good, regular customer, and my co-​worker, too!). But no, she says nothing. Taking little breaks in her work, she looks at her co-​workers and talks to them. She never makes eye contact with me. After 10 minutes or so, I stop trying to make small talk; it’s too one-​sided and her silences are awkward. After 15 minutes, I ask her flat-​out what her name was, and I introduce myself again. She says her name is Née, not looking up.
Once, looking at her colleague and talking to her, Née’s electric nail buffer stays on and it scratches the back of my hand. I flinch but say nothing. Née doesn’t realize what happened.
Née works fast and her fill job is good. I asked her if she could trim my cuticles, which she does. The gals who used to do my fills would trim my cuticles free of charge (it takes but 3 minutes), but I later found out that this salon charges $ 6 to trim cuticles. That was a bit of a surprise when it came time to pay. I wasn’t too thrilled with her nailpolish application job, too (although I didn’t say anything to her about it); there’s a ridge of polish at the base, by the cuticles, on most nails. It is very obvious.
After my nails were done and drying in front of the little fans, after I paid (thanking Née for her work. She never responded), Née just stands up and takes out a wad of cash, counting her money right in front of me. Then she goes to her colleage to my left, takes off her shoes and proceeds to sit in the spa pedicure chair, chatting up a storm with her co-​worker and choosing polishes for the pedicure she’s about to have. The whole time I was there, I felt as though I was invisible to this gal. Honestly, it was if I wasn’t there. Like I was just a pair of hands, and no person was attached to them. It was very, very unsettling and, I thought, unprofessional. I have never been treated like that at a business, as a non-​entity, not looked at or talked to or responded to for an hour, when in close proximity to an employee who is working with me. It was awkward and rude.
When I left, all the employees were congregated by the entrance, chatting and, I think, counting the day’s monies. No one parted for me as I tried to get through their little crowd, to get to the door. They were all giggling and smiling and, again, it was if I were invisible.
With this kind of customer service and «attention», I have no idea how this place stays in business.
Another nail salon I will never return to. Seriously, people, can ANYONE recommend a decent salon when I’ll be treated decently???
