Specialties

I’ve been shooting photos for as long as I can remember. So, it was the obvious choice for my career, which I started in 1994 as a fashion, editorial and advertising photographer in Minneapolis, Santa Fe, San Diego and NYC. I’m now living back in my native La Jolla to focus on shooting weddings and portraits.

And now, pursuing another passion for healthy families, I am also working as a DONA-​trained postpartum doula. This work is supported by my Masters in Social Work, which I received in 2004.

After being recommended by 2 of my friends and checking out her website I called Erika Kyte to see if she could do my wedding pictures. I was so happy to find out that she could/​would. So I hired Erika for 2 hours at what I considered to be a very very reasonable price. Erika was so pleasant to work with, was on time, and both my husband and I are so happy with the pictures she took. Since neither my husband and I ever know what to do in front of a camera, Erika told us how to stand and what to do when she could tell that we didn’t know, which we really appreciated. We also loved her style, we didn’t want anything corny, it’s just not us. All in all, I highly recommend Erika for anyone needing a photographer!
