The La Jolla Community Center offers a wide variety of programs: yoga, jazzercise, computing, literature and the arts, languages, bridge and more. Located on La Jolla Boulevard near Wind’n’Sea Beach, the facility includes several activities rooms, a commercial-sized kitchen and a fully equipped computer training room. In addition to formal classes, the La Jolla Community can also be used as a venue for meetings and events.
The La Jolla Community Center is managed by the Friends of the Riford Center, a community-based 501©(3) corporation established in 2007, under a lease from the City of San Diego (the owners of the facility). The Friends Board of Directors is responsible for strategic oversight of the La Jolla Community Center activities and operations. Much of the work at the La Jolla Community is undertaken by volunteers.
