I tend to review businesses around my home and personal life, and forget about the ones I use to support my professional life.
I’ve been a customer of G & W for years. The owners, Glen and Wanda, do a great job with service, quality, and price in addition to being wonderful people that not only remember you, but truly care about their customers.
So I thought — I need to Unilocal this place — I mentioned Unilocal to Wanda, she hadn’t heard of it, but was really excited when I said I would be writing a review. I’m happy to be FTR especially after the way they saved me this week.
I was hosting an awards party for about 75 people on a Thursday evening. I booked the room, put down a deposit, got the info and publicity going — took care of all of the arrangements well ahead of time — except one — ordering the awards. I called on Monday — closed, always been closed on Monday’s but since I use them just a couple times a year — I never remember that! I left a message on their business phone, and noticed that I had their home number — probably from another time needed something in a rush! I left a message there also. I’m thinking «great, I need around 50 medals and trophies — engraved — in 2 days» — Nice job Bob! I call on Tuesday morning, she’s got my message and has already pulled the stock parts along with my last year’s order. All she needs is the info to engrave. I drop off the names to engrave after work that day, and Wanda has completed the order, it’s all ready to go except for the engraving. Everything was ready on Thursday — and everything perfect!
Over the years, I have used them for trophies, plaques, medals, and custom framing of sports jerseys. They work with you to get what you want — and it always looks great — they have the colors that go exactly with what you need — making everything look custom (guess that’s why it’s in their name!) without any overblown charges. Glen and Wanda understand that most of the groups giving awards are organizations serving the community, and they have always priced their items with that in mind.
It’s a small store, completely packed with inventory and orders that are waiting to be picked up. The kind of independent, mom and pop store that Unilocalers love to support. Glen and Wanda are some of the friendliest, caring and hard working people around — and thy are very deserving of that support and my recommendation!
