Blodgett’s Abbey Carpet & Flooring specializes in both residential and main street commercial flooring & window coverings. We are certified installers for Amtico Luxury Vinyl Flooring, Forbo Marmoleum Linoleum, Hunter Douglas Window Coverings, Karastan Carpeting, and many many more.
Our staff has a has a combined experience of nearly 100 years in the industry. The owner, a registered architect, is an expert at problem solving and looks to some of the more unique flooring products one will not find at most flooring stores.
In addition to flooring and window coverings, Blodgett’s also carries a complete line of products to help maintain floors.
Blodgett’s also, as an authorized Karastan Dealer carries a full selection of area rugs, both standard and custom, as well as a variety of rug pads.
History
Established in 1946.
Kermit Blodgett founded Blodgett’s Linoleum, as it was then named, in 1946 working with the many new homeowners & businesses just after WWII with their flooring needs.
As times changed Blodgett’s did as well by enhancing their product offerings to include wall to wall carpeting and hardwood flooring. Now in it’s second generation headed by the founder’s son, George Blodgett, the company grew and became to be known for it’s high level of service and quality product offerings.
As the company evolved into the 21st Century the third generation took the raines and continued on with the signature quality and service Blodgett’s is known for. Larry Blodgett, the founder’s grandson, has taken the company to an even higher level with an eye for detail with his degree in Architecture and construction background.
Blodgett’s is still the family run busness it has always been with an eye to the future towards working with the next gerneration of families, contractors, designers, and builders.

Business Owner
Larry Blodgett, the grandson of the founder of Blodgett’s, grew up working in the business doing everything from sweeping the floors, deliverying materials to the job sites, to working on installations, and even helping out on the sales floor from about age 12.
Larry brings to the company a high level of detail with an eye for color, design, and construction detail that not only comes from his years in the business but from his education and professional training as a registered architect.
Each client is treated as a friend and their satisfaction is Larry’s primary goal. Problem solving is a specialty when it comes to the details of a job or in the selection of products and their application to a specific use.
Larry is also very involved with his community particapating & sitting on a number of boards including the Chamber of Commerce, Lafayette Senior Housing Association, and Lafayette Rotary. In addition, Larry & his family have been great supporter of the area’s local schools.
