History

Established in 1945.

My father, Robert Lynds, started Lynds Photo (then known as Bob Lynds Photography) in 1945, in Berkeley, California. Over the years, he never wavered from his goal of providing the best wedding photography to all Bay Area Brides and Grooms.

Today, I continue what he started so long ago. While I rely on our team of dedicated professional wedding photographers to capture our brides’ and grooms’ memories, We now provide the perfect add-on video service to round out our offerings.

We are a team of highly experienced photographers. Lynds Photo has been continuously in business, specializing in wedding photography for over 65 years. Most of our photographers have individually photographed hundreds of weddings over the years, yet continue to adapt to the latest styles and techniques

Keith and his team are simply amazing! I found Keith through Unilocal last year while looking for a wedding photographer. We wanted high quality but also affordable. We found both! Keith was so helpful and knew all the right questions to ask. We had Adam as our photographer and could not of been happier. He was very polite and friendly, he took amazing shots and everyone loved him!
We recently went had anniversary «Trash the dress» pictures taken at Baker Beach and had Elliot as our photographer. He was such a trooper. He was in the water, in the sand, and did it all with a smile. I’m completely in love with how they turned out!
I would highly recommend Lynds to everyone and anyone.

Keith and Lynds Photography were absolutely amazing to work with for our wedding this last November in San Francisco (The Golden Gate Club and Chapel of our Lady) to be exact.
My now wife and I were stressed out meeting with photographer after photographer for our wedding pictures. Prices were all over the place, styles were all over the place and we just never felt comfortable. Lynds Photography was probably our 9^th appointment out of 12 and we new right away that we were going to go with Lynds — we cancelled the other appointments.
Keith was very easy to work with and gave us a bunch of different options for video, photo booth and photography. It was very affordable and very professional.
For our wedding we worked with Eliot. I doubt there is anyone in the Bay Area with as much knowledge and professionalism as Eliot. He was great to work with, he knew where to take pictures all over San Francisco, was able to get the stubborn nieces and nephews to smile, and the pictures are AWESOME!!! It was hard picking through all 1500+ of pictures which ones we liked the most. We hope to work with Eliot some time in the future.
Keith took a great video and we have already watched it a few times. We were a little reluctant at first to get the video (as we were trying to save money) but eventually decided and we are really happy that we did. It was great rewatching our vows, the speeches, the dancing — GET THE VIDEO.
Lastly, I’d like to thank Miles. He did a great job with the photobooth. Our guests had a lot of fun.

update: 3 stars for post event customer service. I stand by my previous statements. to your inquiry «if this was indeed a real photo assignment «- ya, like we have time to sit around & write bad reviews for random businesses I have never dealt with. look, this is one very dissatisfied customer. In my opinion the deed is done and can’t be redone so there is no reason for discourse. But, I do applaud your persistence to resolve & seek an upgrade in star rating so I have done just that. In the scheme of things, in my opinion, businesses that don’t have some bad reviews are suspect. No business is 100% and in this case the final product is subjective and your professional review will never out trump my subjective opinion. My comments regarding the photographer are facts and stand on there own. I hope you can put this to rest now. And, be assured this was an actual photo assignment for which we paid over $ 1,000.

Keith, the owner of Lynds Photography is a sweet nice guy. He’s willing to work with his clients to ensure the best possible outcome when photographing their event. We met with Keith last year during the early stages of our wedding planning and walked away really impressed with how detailed and straight forward Keith was. Fast-forward to about a month before our wedding and we sat down with Keith again to go over the final details of our wedding day. We spent a good hour hashing out the schedule and various photo locations – but all that changed two days before the wedding as the hotel we planned to get ready at said they couldn’t accommodate us taking pictures there because they had an onsite wedding that day. Big surprise to us! We called Keith right away for new location ideas and he was on the ball. He gave us a few great suggestions and pulled some strings for us. This could have been a very stressful occurrence but Keith did a great job putting us at ease.
Kenny was our photographer for our wedding. I thought he did a great job especially considering the drastic changes we had to make days before the wedding. I’ve only seen the sneak peeks so far, but based on those I am very happy with the pictures. We cared more about formal pictures and wanted to do a lot of candid shots before the wedding and during cocktail hour – the party pictures weren’t as important to us. I really think Kenny did a great job especially in the 100+ degree heat that day. He worked really hard for us, and for that, I thank him! I can’t wait to see the rest of the pictures when they are ready in a few months.
We also used Lynd’s open-air photo booth during the reception and it was a BIG hit. Miles, who worked the booth did a great job of getting people in the booth all night. He also worked really hard for us and must have been miserable due to the heat but he had a smile on his face all night.
Very thankful we hired Lynds for our wedding.

I just came back from an awesome wedding in Ben Lomond, California at the River House. Everything was lovely but I have to say I LOVED their open air photo booth, the attendant «Miles» was ever so professional but fun and very patient as folks marveled over the props and the SUPER fast printouts!!! Before we could even say «thank you» our prints awaited us! I also love that its a touch screen and out in the open rather than those cramped booths that cannot accommodate a larger group. I would totally hire them myself, maybe for my grandsons birthday next year! FUN!!!

I needed a head shot photo on a really fast turn-around and found Lynds Photography by doing research on Unilocal. Before I found Keith, I was frustrated by the difficulty getting in touch with companies who could schedule me within a 24 hour turn-around. I was delighted to get an email response in less than 30 minutes of sending my inquiry to the Lynds Photography website; then I got an appointment late in the afternoon that same day; and finally, the next morning by the time I needed it, I got multiple samples and went with the recommendation Keith made. My review is not just based on responsive service, high quality photography and fast turn-around, which were all very positive. It is also based on the fact, that even though my request was a small one (much smaller than the beautiful wedding photography work that I saw in Keith’s studio), I and my photography request were treated with importance and care. I loved having Keith and his crew photograph our wedding. He worked around our schedule and his attention to detail were amazing.
Who we loved the most was our very own photographer (it was 2 videographers and 1 photographer) Adam. He was early at our house to take pictures getting ready, he was on top of it, he even gave us pointers on where to go during our honeymoon.
And the pictures came out great! Definitely worth the price!

Lynds photography is very easy to work with. I had to have fast photo for my PR page and they were able to accommodate me fast.
After reading the raving reviews for wedding photos, I feel that because my photos were small business for them I was not important client. The details did not seem to be important. Must say quite a few photos were taken, but most lack the good detail. Perhaps I do have sharper eye?

Lynds Photography is the best!!!
I got married in June 2013. I had various meetings with Keith to go over what the day would look like and what shots I wanted. Keith is probably the most attentive and detailed person I dealt with throughout my whole wedding. He walked us through various ideas, and listened to everything that we wanted.
Keith’s crew (Elliot, master photographer) and Joe? (photo booth guy) were so great! I liked Elliot because he was one of those take charge photographers who was not afraid to tell us what to do. Personally we needed that because we had no idea what shots we wanted on the day of. It was like Elliot saw exactly what would look good, and set us up for success. I also appreciate that he didn’t overdo it with the pictures. When he felt that he had gotten a good shot, he stopped. We were really lucky to have such an amazing photographer on our wedding day.
Joe (I think that is his name) was the master of the photo booth. EVERYONE at our reception were raving about how cool he was and how patient he was with all of my drunk friends in the photo booth. He helped everyone have a good time, and had them smiling and laughing with all the props and poses.
The photos were beautiful, and we didn’t break the bank. Lynds offers so many options for couples that are looking for beautiful photography on a budget.

WE got married on March 14, 2014 at the Bridges Gold Club in San Ramon. This place has a lot of great scenery for awesome shots, but the professionalism of Lynd’s Photo made this day the most unforgettable day of our lives.
I had met with Keith several months before our wedding day, given that we are residents of Texas and were having our wedding at our home state, CA. So, after meeting with him at his shop in Lafayette, I was able to see some great work that he had done. His kindness during our meeting made it all very easy to decide on our photographer. Steve, our photographer for the day was AMAZING! Captured every single moment that stood out to us and made us feel so comfortable during the photo shoot. I love candid shots, and he took a lot of those, which will bring smiles to our faces every time we browse through our album.
When we finally got to see all our pictures I was blown away by the beauty of them. I could not wait to share with family, friends, and colleagues. Steve captured over 1400 shots of our wedding day and I am still obsessed and look through them almost every day :)
A neat thing that I love about their service is how they send all the pics in a USB. This allows the pictures to be saved on my laptop. Also, they create a photo album online where we enter a password and share with our family and friends. This has been the best method to share photos because we live in Texas and all our family is in CA. We simply give them instructions on how to get to our album, provide a password & they can all enjoy our great wedding captured through photos.
Another great deal that we received was an increased spending limit because we are military! Thanks Keith !
Overall, this has been the most amazing experience I’ve had with photographers and we couldn’t have picked a better Photography team than the guys at Lynd’s Photo.

WOW — Lynds photography and Steve Arnett are amazing. We hired him for our wedding day. From our initial consultation with Keith, he was very professional and thorough. He answered emails promptly and gave us several album and hourly options for our wedding. Their rates are really reasonable and the quality of work is excellent. We shopped around and talked to about 3 – 4 photographers. Lynds Photo had the best prices and really included a lot of perks in our wedding package.
Steve Arnett is a great photographer. He showed up to the bridal suite while I was getting my hair and makeup done. He did not impose at all and I barely noticed him in our bridal suite. However, when I saw the «pre-wedding» pictures — my family and I were blown away. He got so many lovely shots of me getting ready. He took shots in a very artistic way of my ring, shoes, jewelry, etc.
During the family pictures, he was very patient with all the family members and the various poses that needed to be done. He gave suggestions on groupings of family members.
He got some amazing pictures of the décor in the room, etc. We had our wedding at a Middle Eastern banquet hall and he really captured the ethnic vibe and colors of the hall. He got some really candid shots of guests arriving and facial expressions during the ceremony. There were a lot of natural shots of guests dancing and socializing, which really added a fun vibe to our group of pictures.
The pictures were processed very quickly after our wedding and we have to pick our favorites for an album.
I would highly recommend Lynds Photo for a wedding or special event.

We got married on March 16, 2014 and we felt so lucky to find Lynds.
We have been using Lydns for our professional headshots and engagement photos before and we were very glad with how the photos turned out. So we decided to use them again for our wedding.
Keith was amazing to work with. He was very attentive and detailed-oriented. We had couple of meetings with Keith before the wedding to discuss about our preferences and he took notes of every single details!
Adam, the photographer, was so much fun to work with. He called me two days before the wedding to have a better understanding of my expectation. On the wedding day, he showed up two hours earlier to figure out good spots to shoot photos. Besides, he was so patient when my makeup ran much later than expected. He was humorous and entertaining and my girlfriends had so much fun taking the group photos with him.
I just got my photos and video today and I loved all of them! I highly recommend Lynds to the brides-to be!

I don’t know how to express how amazing all of our pictures are! We got married 03.01.2014 (few weeks ago) and already got all of our pictures back! I seriously love every single one of them! We got married this May 2013. Sooo glad we found Lynds Photography!
At first, we were only going to use them for videography. We looked at their rates and discovered that their prices were so reasonable that we actually had the budget for both the videography AND photography and 2 albums to boot!
My now-hubby and I couldn’t be happier. Working with Keith (owner and the one who shot the video), Alex (our photographer), and Steve (editor) is like opening Christmas presents! They had sneak peaks on their blog and the online uploads so we can preview the photos even before we got the final version.
Steve is a wonderful editor! Our photos are amazingly beautiful! He was so great to speak with on the phone as well when finalized our payment.
Alex, our photographer, was fantastic! He was enthusiastic from the start (i.e. our prep call before the wedding). We let him know that there may be other family members and friends who will want to take photos and he was great with them. He gave them space to do so. Also, we had a list of photos we wanted to take and Alex was soo on the ball, he kept looking at the list and checking in with us to make sure that all the shots were crossed off the list.
Aaahhh, Keith! This man is so pleasant and easy to work with. He calls back, he replies to emails, he’s prepared during our visits and conversations, he’s organized and we can tell he really loves what he does! We soo appreciate the testimonials and interviews he asked of our guests when he shot the video.
During the wedding, it was so delightful to see Alex and Keith having fun as well. They weren’t just slugging away to get the job done. I’m not sure how other Lynds photographers and videographers are. I hope we didn’t just luck out with these two. Their happy, enthusiastic, and calm energy just totally brought out our genuine smiles and our guests’ too.
If we could give these guys a 6^th star, we would. Reasonable prices, fantastic customer service, amazingly artistic photos, great energy — Lynds is IT! (but what we really want to say is, «They’re the shiznit!»). Lol!

My husband and I used Lynds Photography for our wedding last month and we are really glad we chose them. We had emailed and called quite a few other photographers in the Bay Area and they all were charging way too much. Lynds offers affordable and flexible packages based on your needs.
Our photographer was Steve and he was awesome! He offered guidance for how and where we should stand in order to capture hundreds of great shots of us and our guests. After the wedding, we received fours discs with all 1200 full-quality photos for us to do whatever we want with. We decided not to order prints or photo books through them because it is cheaper elsewhere. Otherwise, I would recommend them to anyone looking for a great AND affordable photographer.
