Lumiere Hawaii

My wife and I were married at Sugarman’s Estate (Honua Kai Lani) July 4. We had a very specific look in mind for our photos. We wanted something very editorial /​Vanity Fair like. We provided a lot of reference photos. Anthony and Paulo did an amazing job! We wanted a really unique wedding and had a very extroverted group. The guys were awesome at getting everyone to take awesome photos while still having fun. There’s a lot more to it than just pressing the button on the camera. They’re really skilled at lighting, using their environment, working with people, making everyone look really good, doing great treatments on the photos after, and just being really nice people. I work in post production and know a lot of work goes in to photos like these and can say Lumiere really delivers and gives you your money’s worth. Thank you Anthony and Paulo! Highly recommended!

Anthony did such an amazing job on our wedding pictures! We not only received our pictures quickly, every picture was perfect. We couldn’t have asked for a better photographer. My husband and I got married at the Royal Lahaina this past March 2015 and we can’t stop reminiscing about our perfect fairytale island wedding. Thanks to Paulo at Lumiere Photography, we can escape to the very moment by viewing our beautiful photographs. Our pictures are not only stunning, he was able to capture so much emotion, beauty, love, and laughter in each picture, that each picture tells a story. He was also very easy to work with and kept me at ease throughout the entire session. I have to also point out that post wedding, Paulo was extremely responsive and the turn-​around time of the pictures were quick. I am still going through our pick of 24 set of prints and it’s not easy because every single picture is beautiful! Thank you Paulo for capturing so well one of the happiest moments of our lives!

We honestly cannot say enough amazing things about Anthony & Paulo at Lumiere. They both are extremely friendly, genuine, laid back but professional and beyond talented. We are not the most comfortable in front of the camera but they immediately put us at ease. We had such a blast shooting with them, we didn’t want it to end! Paulo is, quite simply, wonderful!
After viewing his portfolio online, I knew he had talent and after meeting him, my fiancé and I knew he was the perfect photographer for our wedding. He’s friendly and open and easy to talk to and we all clicked right away.
At the wedding he was great, got tons of pictures, even of the people who are typically difficult to photograph. He made everyone feel comfortable.
After receiving the pictures, we were amazed! They were all so fantastic! We’re still going through them now trying to put together the album and I’m not sure how it’s all going to fit.

Anthony and his assistant were absolutely FANTASTIC to work with! They showed up on the day of the wedding and instantly made us feel comfortable and excited! They were professional yet fun and all of our guests commented on how great they were. The pictures turned out absolutely stunning, I cannot recommend them enough!!!

I’m so glad i have chosen Lumiere over the other photography options that were presented to me by my wedding coordinator. After reviewing their portfolio not once, or twice but countless other times, I’ve decided to make my final decision with them.
I agree with some of the previous reviewers that during the event, you forget Paulo and Anthony were there snapping away. They do such a great job in capturing the event without interfering. I also agree with past reviewers that Paulo was a bit more serious while Anthony was a bit more carefree; nevertheless, both were AMAZING and very much compliment each other to capture different moods of the event.
At one point during the wedding, I was about to snap and paper cut everyone in the eyeball because the sun was setting and all 90+ of my guest wanted a single photo and then a group photo and then a generation/​relatives photo that i started to freak out because i haven’t gotten ANY photos with my new husband alone. Anthony was able to calm me down and complete the photo shoot as planned with no harm done to anyone’s eyeball.
Fast forward to weeks later when my photos were done editing and i was proofing them — AMAZING! Anthony and Paulo were quick to respond to my emails. I did have a little request for some «natural lighting» photos for some shots that were taken and Paulo was very accommodating to my request.
In short, I would recommend Lumiere with Paulo and Anthony 100x over. Thanks for capturing one of the best day of my life!

Lumiere was one of three companies we were given as options when we booked our wedding package through Royal Lahaina. After looking at each company’s website, Lumiere was the obvious choice for Joe and I: their pictures were saturated and intense, playful and organic.
Truthfully, I stalked the company’s Facebook page for six months before our wedding (June 20^th, 2014), watching each session go up on their page. Paulo and Anthony have a gift, both truly talented and passionate in their work. It was evident before ever working with them.
On the day of the wedding, they were with us for three hours. During that time my impressions solidified. Spending some time together before the ceremony, they were able to calm a nervous bride and redirect my emotions to the true meaning of the day: a celebration of marrying my best friend. This all happened before leaving the room.
Once the ceremony began, both men put themselves in position and I, truthfully, never noticed they were around. The didn’t intrude on intimate moments but I know they caught them (especially after reviewing our video coverage). They weaved in and out, between the audience and participants, without distracting anyone from the true importance of each moment. After, they moved through the standard family shots quickly (still making each parent/​sibling feel included) so we could get to the fun stuff afterward.
The personalities of the two photographers worked well together. Paulo, a bit more serious than Anthony, was able to keep us focused and get the entire party through all the shots we wanted. And Anthony’s smile was warm and comforting, a necessary part of an emotion-​filled day.
By the end of those three hours both myself and my new husband (eek!) were confident in the outcome of our session. We have not yet seen the images, but we are sure they will not disappoint.
From the bottom of my heart I believe working with Lumiere was an absolute gift on our wedding day. I can’t begin to recommend their services because I don’t know how to wrap words around how much better they made me feel on the most important day of my life. I know Joe feels the same.

Paulo is a talented photographer with an amazing personality. He made me feel so comfortable during my wedding. My family even raved about how wonderful Paulo is. The photos turned out so beautiful! Paulo is very artistic and his passion and vision, mixed in with our personalities, showed through the in the pictures that he delivered.
Pictures last a lifetime, and that is why it is important to invest in a good photographer. Paulo does not disappoint! My husband and I would like to work with him again in the future, specially once we decide to make additions to our family. Paulo and Anthony did a great job for us. We were looking for photographers who translated fun and energy into their photographs. We saw a lot of photographers work that looked static and wooden. Paulo and Anthony do NOT take static or wooden shots. We received our pictures a couple weeks ago and we are very happy with the work. Paulo and Anthony captured the fun and energy of the wedding and all of our friends and family. We have lots of pictures that we are proud to show and many pictures of our attendees that we will be proud to give as gifts.
It was a pleasure to have Paulo and Anthony there during the wedding. They are fun and good people, and everyone enjoyed working with them and talking with them. We had a mini family reunion a few weeks ago in Maui and based on a friend’s recommendation we hired Anthony to take some family photos. WOW. Exceeded Expectations.
We had three generations there, and we all got photos together with spouses, with just our family, with all the family, etc. Anthony was working so quickly and seamlessly that it seemed more like a social event than a photo shoot. I have to say, that might be why we all look so happy in the photos :)
He is a gifted photographer who worked equally well with my 4 year old and my 73 year old dad, bringing out the best in each of us. Love. My Christmas card is going to kill it this year.
Yes, he showed up on time with all of his equipment set up and ready to go. He brought a variety of cameras, lenses, and lighting. He delivered the photos as promised. I know, details count!
