I went there and it is closed. Oh, and the hours posted on this site, 11:00PM to 2:00PM? I don’t think so.

I went to Mark’s for the sole purpose of trying their roasted veggie orzo, only to find that it wasn’t on the menu. Under duress, I hastily decided to go with the pesto chicken sandwich and an iced tea. While I was waiting, I took a close look at my surroundings. The interior clearly reveals that this building was not designed as a restaurant. Makeshift curtains do not mask the skeletal structure of an office building turned restaurant, and a generic wooden door separating the kitchen made the establishment feel like a doctor’s office. Nevertheless, the décor looks nice even if the paneled ceiling evokes thoughts of being back at your office workplace. The loudest sound in the restaurant is their small refrigerator housing the usual suspects of canned and bottled beverages. Speaking of beverages, I opted for the aforementioned iced tea. It has a tinge of passion fruit in it, but it was tasty enough to not require any help from cancerous sugar substitues. They know how to make their own iced tea at Mark’s. +1 My sandwich came out in practically five minutes, and was very decently sized for 6.95 with a side of unadvertised chips. It is served on a roll that was slightly toasted but cool to the touch and soft. The pesto was delicious and was not oozing out of the sandwich, while the sun-dried tomato was only slightly oily and didn’t seem like it was freshly picked from a jar. It had some sort of leafy greens in it that tasted of pepper(possibly arugula?). The taste was much better than similar sandwiches found at Corner Bakery Café or Nordstrom Café — both manifested in Panini form — and seemed to benefit from the lack of cheese. +1 for the sandwich. The tortilla chips warrant a +1 themselves though. Tasting more like toasted pita chips, they were crispy and only slightly salted, and were very addicting on their own. I was dismayed when my waitress assumed I was done with my plate and there were two chips left. What a heartbreaking sight to see delicious food taken away from you when it could be digested instead. I got my check and although I would say most people would spend more than 10 dollars here given their assortment of unique appetizers, I clocked in under 10. The service was prompt and attentive, and their salad portions were very generous from what I saw. It has limited hours for lunch only, and recently advertises being closed on Mondays due to their catering-intensive nature. That being said, Mark’s is definitely worth a shot if you work nearby. +1 for the overall experience for a total of four stars.

This place is more of a catering business and they close at 4. It’s close to where I work so we cater a lot of business lunches from here. I have NEVER been let down and the food is absolutely amazing. They can definitely do it buffet style and serve you in big containers but they also have single servings of everything which is what I get for lunch. They have pretty hearty portions and my favorite is just their side of roasted veggie orzo pasta. I’ve heard mixed things about their pastrami sandwich but everything else has gotten great reviews by my coworkers and most importantly, our clients. Enjoy :)
