Quality Inn & Suites Irvine Spectrum

This place is a scam! They sent us to an occupied room at 2am where we opened the door to people having sex. When we went back to the front desk to ask for an unoccupied room, the clerk was so unapologetic, though he did agree to «give us a discount.» We got our correct room and stayed for one night.
When we left the next day, I looked at my bank account to see that the hotel had charged me multiple times for the room, adding up to $ 710! The hotel denied they did, so I had to file a claim with my bank. The $ 710 charge (which should have been only $ 99) led to an overdraft in my bank account, 2 days before rent is due and the hotel has yet to reimburse these charges or give me any compensation for the overdraft fees, late rent fees and overall terrible customer service I received.
Never go here, they steal money and have incompetent staff.

I HIGHLY recommend never staying at this hotel. All of the staff is very disrespectful and doesn’t care about helping you whatsoever. I was lied to and scammed out of money from this hotel. I’m not going to write the whole story but they basically took $ 100 from me for a night I did not stay there. Do NOT stay here. There are plenty of other hotels in the area that will take good care of you and that have much better customer service and respect for their customers.

The staff was friendly and the breakfast was fine as far as «free» hotel breakfasts go. The lobby and halls looked nice however when we got to our room the furnishings were very worn and dated. This hotel could be a 4 star or better if they would upgrade their rooms. It was clean and the bathroom looked like a renovation was attempted a few years ago but poorly done. The bath/​shower was poorly lighted and black mold was evident around the sink and tub. The vent fan was on it’s last leg and sounded like it was ready to fall out of the ceiling. The cover for it was sitting in the middle of the sink when we got there but at 1AM I was to tired to care. The mattress was too firm and an old flat top model where as most comparable hotels I’ve stayed at have pillow tops. Not to mention the cigarette burn on the bed spread. Overall it was clean, quite and comfortable with the exception of our last night. The occupants in the room above us decided it was a good idea to open and close their sliding door at midnight every 5 minutes for half an hour. I can’t put that on the hotel, just ignorant hotel guests that think they are the only ones staying at the facility. We stayed in room 145 ³⁄₁₂ to 3÷19÷2016.

This place really really sucks I’m in a handicapped room no shower chair, no pillows jacuzzi doesn’t work 180.00 and crappy customer service bad tv might as well be staying in my car

Had a room that was accidentally formally occupied, switched to a room that smelled like urine, then switched to «our final room». When looking for diff places, said they had cable channels, but does not, and didn’t even have correct channels listed in room and I know it’s knit picking but, u pay for something and get a lot less than what they offer, it sucks. P. S. If u have a truck that is able to make the «6’6» «mark. Be careful, (especially if there’s cab lights) because even if u make it one side the other side can F your sh**. Though the lady was very apologetic. The Breakfast was fun. The spa was getting repaired so couldn’t go in.

EAK! Not gunna lie.. .I kinda gambled with this place after I read previous reviews but.. .wow.. .THE OTHER REVIEWS WERE RIGHT and I should have listened!
I mean, it was a clean and well kept establishment, I have to give them that, but the service! OI VEY! They lady who was working the desk when we checked in that evening practically seemed high. she was very slow a glossy eyed.. .then she said «complimentary upgraded» to a two queen room from the single king we reserved.. .how is a queen size and upgrade from a king?! we said no thank you, we want the king, then she admitted they did not have one.. . like we reserved. Not exactly off to a good start. :/​
The next morning there was a gentleman behind the desk I asked for help and he wouldn’t even look up from his video game to make eye contact with me while answering. He was short and abrupt in his response and very dismissive.. .well all their staff is dismissive except for the housekeepers, who are awesome and sweet and will actually talk to you with a smile!
They lady who was handling breakfast in the mornings was, I’m sorry, truly a B*TCH.
I asked her to refill the pancake machine which was not working and I got this sassy sarcastic «Regina George» response.. . and then she didn’t even help! She just walked away and came back 20 minutes later to shut down the breakfast area. She also scolded this poor older man who was making toast to «get the hell outta the way» while she was cleaning up. She locked away the butter before the elderly man could even put it on his toast. He is lucky she let him have a plate! Her attitude both mornings towards myself and the other guests was «gah, you are all so annoying. you are inconveniencing me! How dare you make me do my job this early in the morning!»
Sheish.. . Sad experience since I was intown for a wedding.. .but the hot tub was at least OKish. What do you expect when you are one step up from a Motel 6? Well.. .I have had better service at every Motel 6 I have ever stayed at so.. . I guess Motel 6 is one step up from this place :(

I love the free continental breakfast there!!!
Quality Inn Suites is a great place to stay.

They need to replace the old hag working up at the front she is very judgemental and negative and very rude she charged me and then said that my girlfriend looks like a minor even though she saw her id card and started playing stupid and asking questions like what her age was .
She reimbursed my money and says it will take 3 to 5 business days. What a fucking joke this place is.
Maybe she just jealous because she doesn’t look cute and small like my girlfriend. Don’t go to this place I wouldn’t to business with people of that standard of thinking.

Anytime I have a problem with my many stays here, the front desk helps to resolve the issue immediately. I haven’t really had any issues. The rooms are always clean and rather large room for the price which is nice… It’s nice and private feeling… Pretty quite outside usually just the sound of cars on the street… I’d once again highly recommend staying it’s great

This is the grossest, nastiest, most discussing place I have ever stayed in my entire life! The room was so smoke damaged you could not even breath when I first walked in it! Opened the sliding door all the way and had to sleep with open all night! Sleep in your car it will be a better place to stay!!!

Walked into the lobby and was immediately hit by a heat wave. The AC was broken throughout the hotel and the front desk clerk sweating profusely behind the counter. I got a non-​smoking king size bed room for $ 99 a night.
Upon walking in, I immediately could smell the old stench of cigarette smoke. I could also see stains on the carpet that look like it had been there for quite a while. One of the lamps in the room was broken and not working. Upon turning on the lights, I noticed the lights were dim. Upon closer inspection, I realized the bulbs had about an inch of dust covering them. The room was outdated and needs to be remodel.
At night, I could hear other guest walking through the hallways and could hear the the ice machine running, which was right across from my room.
When I woke up the next morning, I had bite marks all over my body which I am assuming were from bed bugs. Worst hotel experience.

The Hotel lobby looks pretty good but the rooms are very run down. When I went to charge my cell phone the plug just fell out of the wall. The socket was so lose it couldn’t hold the plug. Then I went to use the microwave to warm something up in a paper cup (no metal). The microwave would not turn on until I wiggled the cord at the top (in the wall, and at different outlet). It finally went on but only to hear it snap and pop twice. I quickly unplugged microwave. I went to call the front desk but the phone didn’t work. Jim at the front desk said he couldn’t hear me. I called back 4 times. Still he couldn’t hear me. He said «I can’t hear you on the phone; you’ll have to come to the front desk. I got dressed and headed down within 4 minutes. Jim was hiding in the back and put up a sign saying be back in 5 minutes. I waited 7 minutes but the front desk was left unattended. I called to the back and got no response. I went back to my room where my teenaged daughter was and my key didn’t work in the door. She let me in and I tried her key. It didn’t work either. I called the front desk and Jim answered. I went back downstairs and found Jim. I told him about the phone, plug outlet, keys, and popping microwave. I asked him if he knew my room number when I was calling him. He said yes. He had caller ID. I asked if maintenance was on the way he said no. I asked if he could send someone he to look at the 3 problems. He said yes. I went to quickly grab some breakfast in the dining area and take it to my room. When I got to the room my daughter said the man came and replaced the phone. I asked what about the micro and plug. She said he didn’t even look at those. I called Jim again and he told me he was about to lose his cool with me and I was getting on his nerves. I asked if I could get a different microwave and he hung up on me. I called him back and he said «you are crazy. Stop calling the front desk» I noticed now across the hall the police were back. I saw them the night before casing the parking lot. There were 8 – 10 young people in the room smell of marijuana and 2 or 3 cops detaining them. Jim told me «you know the cops are here. I’ll send them to your room if you don’t stop calling». I explained all I wanted was a properly working microwave. I called corporate and they connected me with the regional manager in Phoenix. They called the front desk and Jim told them that a microwave was on the maintenance guys cart and he didn’t know where the guy was going but it was on the cart. I waited ten minutes and went down stair. I saw the cart with tools out in the hall. No microwave. I took pics. I saw the M. guy and asked him if he was bringing a micro to my room. He said he couldn’t do that unless Jim gives him an order to. I brought the broken micro downstairs and Jim instructed me to leave it in lobby hall. I took lots of pics. I called the corporate back and let them know Jim lied to them. They told me they spoke to the hotel manager but when I asked Jim for the manager he said they were not in and he didn’t know when he would be in. Corporate said I couldn’t make an official complaint until after I checked out. I checked out early because of the terrible room which had a dirt tub and bathroom and dirty walls in sleeping area. Pics available. Jim was beyond rude and doesn’t deserve his job. I was told that I would get a call from the manager it’s been 2 weeks and nothing. This was by far the worst hotel I’ve stayed and I travel a lot. I stayed in choice hotels 20 years ago and hadn’t been back until now and I doubt I would return. Im leaving this review on Unilocal after 7 times trying to leave on choice hotel site.

I made a very big mistake of booking a room in this hotel!!! On July 24 2015. close to midnight I checked in after a long tiring trip and the front desk person who is in no way friendly, gives me a room that is occupied!!! Sorry I woke up the occupants. I returned to the front desk and after more waiting on while an irate customer was arguing with the hotel manager, I was finally given a key to a vacant room. I don’t recall the front desk person ever saying «l’m sorry, sir».
If I am paying $ 169.00 plus tax per night for a room that would not even deserve 2 star rating, I would think I would deserve a better treatment.

You don’t stay at the cheapest hotel in the area for service. Everyone is line, but they are clearly understaffed. Rooms are decent size. You are in a sort of remote location. South County aka Narnia land.

I’m in handicap I was asking the front desk I need help to carry my bag they wouldn’t help me the front desk guy he’s liar he said I have injury in my back I know he’s liar I see him moving the table also The manager she was fighting with me when I was asking her this is definitely stupid front desk manager Fightin with a customer I don’t really appreciate that can motel I will never come back here.

For the price paid (~$ 100) and compared to other similarly priced hotels in the area, this hotel was bad. Its a slight step up from Motel 6, but below comparable budget chain hotels.
First of all, the hotel is named «Quality Inn & Suites Irvine Spectrum». This hotel is 3 miles from the Irvine Spectrum and the neighborhood is a big drop down from Irvine.
Second, the rooms were really old. The room smells like cigarettes (even though the rooms were non smoking) and was really dark and poorly lit. The furniture was old, the carpet stained and had holes, and the curtains didn’t work well so it was hard to get light in. Plus, it was really noisy from the freeway (even though I didn’t face the freeway (Room 303) even with the sliding door closed.
Third, the free breakfast was not good. Juice was water like, eggs tasted like it was powdered, and rolls from $ 1 stores. Granted it was Free, but for a couple of bucks the McDonalds next door breakfast is a lot better.
Fourth, I had a dispute with the front desk and corporate office regarding their Choice Privileges Hotel Reward Program. Rather than being a little accommodating and understanding, they were incompletely inflexible.
Overall, I will never stay here (or likely another Choice property (due to the dispute)) again as I believe there are better options for similar value elsewhere where my business is appreciated.

My manager booked this hotel for me during my stay here for a business trip. The room did had a refrigerator and a microwave which is a plus BUT the room was dirty. The carpet was not thoroughly cleaned and the sheets were not the most comfortable. The fitness room was AWFUL. Both the machines are a hazard and do not work properly. On top of that, I had a creepy guest figure out what room I was in and called my hotel room at night! Luckily, the front desk was able to switch my room closer to the lobby. Overall, if I had the chance to book another hotel, I would.

I will never make a reservation with this place again. I actually left with in 15 minutes of getting there and stayed somewhere else. I didn’t even care about money after my experience.
The front desk assistance was nice. Nice women, she was actually the nicest part to my experience. I walked into this room with my dog and I was a little taken back, especially after coming from The Prominence Hotel the night before.
I get it, this is a cheaper room, but this was just gross. Dark, creepy setting even with the lights on. Musty smell, almost looked haunted. The ceilings were SO LOW. But right when I opened the patio door a GIANT ROACH ran into my room and under one of the beds. That’s when I said NOPE. Checked out, and left and went back to the other hotel.
Use caution…
This hotel needs an update & a good cleaning. I’ve stayed in much nicer places for 100 a night. Just sayin’.

Pretty dirty! We came here as a lack of option due to a family emergency. This was the only hotel with any vacancy and pet friendly. So, there is a MUSHROOM growing from behind the mirror and poop looking stains on the bedskirt! We were informed the continental breakfast was until 11am and when we went down there the woman told me it was closed, this was at 9:55am. The staff overall was friendly and helpful however I believe cleanliness is next to godliness and this place was pretty gross! If you sleep in your clothes and wear shower shoes and all around not touch anything, this place is good and cheap for a night!

Waaaa. The bad reviews are from nitpicking whiners. What do you expect when you pay less than $ 100 per night? Be grateful you have a roof over your head, warmth, and running water. This is not The Four Seasons but it’s inexpensive and very suitable for what we needed. McD’s is right next door. The place also has a bangin New Years Party.
EDIT: Just got back from my the complimentary breakfast. Again, its not fancy but it will suffice and get you fed before getting back on the road — coffee, juice, waffles, eggs, cereal, yogurt, oatmeal, fruit, and bagels.
