Islander Rv Resort

We started coming here several years ago, usually staying for a month. We love it and look forward to returning each year. Very clean, pet friendly and a great staff, especially Everett and his wife Linda, both of whom work there. All of the staff have been great, but these two really help make the yearly visits that much more enjoyable. A little pricey when compared to other RV parks in the area, BUT well worth it!

Spent about $ 325 to stay there over Memorial Day weekend. Paying that much for an RV site is no big deal as long as the park is nice, it comes with some type of professionalism and a higher level of customer service. If I hadn’t pre-​paid for my site so far in advance and/​or had a choice to stay elsewhere with short notice I would’ve easily canceled. Had an issue with them charging me holiday rates on a Thursday at a last minute change of plans with coming in early and in the Manager Shirley’s own words «You don’t have to come here, you can stay home».
There were other minor things that occurred and during trips to the store I saw many others come in and not be pleased with their customer service also. Another thing is the campground only has one trash bin in the entire park located at the entrance and you are not allowed to keep your own trash receptacle outside of your RV. So that’s a drive to the front everytime you pick up after your pet.
Overall, the park itself is actually nice and the sites are huge but I won’t refuse to give them my service again due to their lack of valuing their customers.

Pros — nice, clean bathrooms and showers (during the hours they are open)
great launch ramp
wide camp spaces with concrete patio and picnic table
Cons — they don’t seem interested in weekend RV’ers. RV’s over 10 years require an «inspection» to deem whether they are worthy of paying the $ 70/​night privilege of camping there. A walk through the campground clearly shows this policy is not universally enforced, though.
As a late check-​in, the guard wasn’t welcoming or helpful. It seemed as if she was annoyed we were interrupting her card game. She did have someone show us to our spot, but he zoomed off in his golf cart before we even were able to put our RV in park.
Restrooms/​showers close a 10:00 — a total bummer after a long drive thru the desert. Had to flag down a maintenance man to find out the hours.
They offer slips, but only seem to rent them to big boats. It would be okay and understandable if this was a stated policy, but though there were several available slips, they said there was nothing available for our 21 foot boat.
ONLY ONE TRASH DUMPSTER IN THE ENTIRE PLACE! Completely ridiculous if you are camping in the weekend RV’er section in the outskirts of «the resort».
Guests were not friendly — people were too busy zipping around in their golf carts to smile or say hi.
After less than 12 hours camping here, we were off exploring other camping options on the island.

Great place to hide out.

My wife and I stayed at the Islander Resort for the first time this past weekend and we were very impressed with the RV Park and amenities it had to offer. Staff was very friendly– everyone from the guard shack, front desk, service employees, and they even wished us a safe trip when we exited the resort at the end of our stay (never had this happened before). The restrooms were in excellent shape and well maintained, lunch ramp was awesome (double lanes and protected from boat wakes), and the RV spaces are extra wide for your RV, Truck, and boat/​boat trailer. Very impressed with the RV resort and the price you pay reflects the level of service & condition of the RV resort.

Found this place to be overcrowded and overpriced. It would be worth the $$ if you had a good water view, but those locations seem to be reserved for years in advance!

Love the Islander!!! It’s a great place to have a Park Model or a R.V. Our Family and friends have enjoyed countless Vacations here and have met people that will be friends for life. Very clean and most of all safe. They do not tolerate wild crazy people… Additionally they have RV or Boat storage at the facility. Can’t wait to return.

The only way to make this RV park worth you time and money is to get a spot looking and the lake. There is no other way to enjoy this ¾ permanent mobile home park ¼ RV travelers. The park is huge, packed filled with mobile home. I think they had a contest to see how many mobile homes they can fit into this area. They are so close and even connected at times.
The resort itself is very nice and clean and the staff are very friendly and nice. The residents are always very friendly and helpful.
I am glad we got to wake up to a beautiful sun rise over the lake but I was also glad that we were only staying one night.

This RV resort has very few RV spaces and mostly permanent mobile homes for sale/​rental. The location could be really nice, but there are so many trailers packed in here that it does the potential views a disservice.
The resort is nice, but relatively expensive. It is a huge property, but with only one garbage dumpster near the entrance.
The one thing that caused me to give them a little slack was that the staff at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. (Thanks, Cher)

This place is nice but in my opinion very expensive. We rented a two bedroom place #97. It was in great shape and close to the docks. There was a view of a spill way and other modular homes.
It cost us over $ 1000 dollars to stay there for three nights! I have paid less on other lakes for a larger house, on the water with docks.
When the reservation was originally made they said boat slips could not be reserved and that they were first come first serve. When I called back to confirm and ask a couple of questions they let us reserve one. My friend said that when we were registering that there was a note on our paperwork that said to tell us that the boat slip rental is a one time thing and that we wouldn’t be able to do it again after this stay.
I am not sure why this is the case. They are already over-​priced and we paid extra for the slip. So what we took away from it was that we should just stay somewhere else. We actually stopped at other places and they were just as nice, cheaper and would dedicate a slip for your boat.
The front desk was EXTREMELY friendly and helpful. That is why they get three and not two stars. Also, if you do happen to get lucky and are able to reserve a slip they have indoor storage for your trailer that is SUPER nice.
