Imp Nails & Spa

This is the worst place on the face of the planet! I got acrylics here and they were all bumpy! How can you mess this up? The lady who did them also cut me repeatedly with the (for lack of a better term) sanding thingy. I told her it hurt but she didn’t seem to care. After my best friend and I had gotten our nails done, we got our eyebrows waxed, and we’ve both gone there before for this, we liked the way it turned out. This time however, we broke out sooooo bad, it’s 5 days later and we still have tons and tons of bumps outlining our eyebrows! There wax must’ve not been clean or something! Overall wouldn’t come back to this place ever ever ever again!

The second time I came here I still like it because I get longer massage and my gel last over 2 week I will come back

I wish I had taken the negative reviews for Imp Nail Salon seriously before coming here to get a spa mani-​pedi. This was my first and last experience here on Sat 11÷13÷15.
(1) Awkward social skills. (William) Please don’t randomly try to guess or ask your guests what ethnicity they are, whether they were born here, and if they speak their ethnic language. It’s none of your business and if this was a legitimate corporation, this topic would be completely inappropriate and unacceptable.
(2) Limited and old, crusty selection of nail polishes. It was a struggle to find any decent polish that had more than a quarter fluid left in the bottle. Low quality dollar store polishes made up about 70% of their collection while the balance were gross, old, stained bottles of Essie and OPI.
(3) Related to the old polishes, I picked a decent color from OPI even though the bottle was stained with its own color on the bottle. Three nails into the color the employee (name Eurn?) literally started to pour acetone into the bottle to thin it out as the application was chunky and gross. I am serious.
(4) I was given the option to select another color because this was just so disgusting. My three nails look like rocky leathery mess. So I picked another color and they started from scratch. But what surprised me was that they apply the second coat immediately after applying the first, not allowing more than 10 seconds for each nail to dry! I knew this was going downhill.
(5) Because of this, my nails were a sloppy mess. After 10 minutes I lightly touched my nail to check and the color slid off completely. William redid the nail haphazardly and it had squiggly messy lines all over. After 10 minutes I lightly touched my nail to check and the color took the indentation of my touch.
(6) After 10 more minutes, the nails were obviously still not drying because the base coat underneath never had a chance to set. They put my nails under the drying machine where I stayed for 2 curing cycles which lasted over another 10 minutes. This dried out my hands which felt parched, wrinkly, and hot. I was so tired, hungry, and irritated that I just wanted to leave and erase my nails as soon as I got home.
(7) I asked one of the girls if my nails were dry yet and she said yes. Then I asked her to touch them so she could see for herself that they were not dry. She made a mark on my nail with the lightest touch and I said to her «this is not good.» Then she said something in her language to William and I was just frustrated so I left immediately.
I’m thinking that I probably would’ve had the option to get everything corrected but I was so sick of this place after spending over an hour there for what should have taken about half the time. Plus, I knew they would just keep screwing everything up so it was just best to cut my losses and kiss my money and pre-​paid tip good bye.
I really, really hate writing negative reviews but this was the 2^nd worst nail place I have been to in the last 10 years (the worst was when I went to a place in Little India in Artesia where they soaked my feet in a dirty wastebasket, that’s right, a plastic garbage pail).
Never coming back.

My go to nail place! Everyone is very nice and accommodating here. I’v tried every nail place in this area, and IMP is the best! No frills, just straight to the point. I’m good on paying extra for snobby service at places like nailpolish. No thank you!

It’s a tough call. When I walked in the smell of a$$ slammed me in the face. Very strong. I would have walked out if it wouldn’t have been so obvious but there were no other customers at the time. Eventually I got over it. Because the ladies were so nice and did a great job I will come back again. But if it smells like that next time it’s a no go.

My daughter and I walk to this salon and the people there always treat us well! Clean, polite, and attention to detail. They make my 10-​yr old feel special. The callous removal is always wonderful, I run and have gnarly feet so I appreciate this service! It’s our regular salon.

Will never come back. My feet look tore up from the floor up!!! Ughhhhhhhhh they were rude when i asked them to scrub my feet good. They Looked at me like i was crazy. They did parafin wax on my hands and didnt take my rings off now my rings are crammed with wax. Gotta get them cleaned. My nail polish looks like my 3 yr old did it.

2^nd time, was fabulous! The gel stayed on for over 2 weeks! My toenails were hardly chipped either!

Gey acryllic nails and my girl at my old salon left. I cane in here in jopes of finding a replacement nail and toe lady, and boy am I glad I picked this place. MARY fiked and shaped my nails perfectly. Highly reco. end this hidden gem!

William did a great mani and Nancy did a great pedi! Place was super clean, customer service was amazing. Will be back soon!

Okay this place is seriously one of the best nail shops I’ve been to. Everyone there does exactly what you want, not to mention they’re not pricey at all. I don’t understand where all of the negative reviews come from lol. Everyone here has always been so nice to me. They have the best selection of gel colors & they’re able to do so many cool designs!
Also their wax job is great! Don’t go by all of the negative reviews. Try it out for yourself.

I walked in and clearly said in English that I’d like a pedicure. I was the only customer. They asked if I wanted manicure. I said «no.» As the lady starts my toes, the gentlemen gives me a dish for my fingers and starts just filing and cleaning. I SERIOUSLY thought he was bored or something. No polish or anything. I go to pay and she says «$ 22 for mani and pedi. Good deal, huh?» I will NEVER go to this place again. It’s NOT a good deal when you wanted a pedi ONLY. I felt like I was hussled in my own country.

Worst customer service ever. Super rude employees. Don’t bother coming here. It will be a waste of your time.

Went on vacation for 3 weeks out of state and was worried that my nails wouldn’t last, but they did. They are grown out a lot since then but the paint and even the star charms stayed on. I can’t believe the quality of my nails. I swam in pools, dealt with luggage, cooked, and even played some sports I wasn’t gentle on my nails at all. And here we are 3 weeks later and still looking great!
I didn’t get the royal that time but I did get the neck massage which was totally worth it. 4^th time being there and still happy with the outcome.

As I sit in my car pondering my recent visit to this nail salon. Two words come to mind, scam artists! I wanted to check this place out since they opened and have been getting pretty good reviews. I called being it’s a Saturday afternoon to see if I could make an appointment. The friendly gentleman who answered the phone said they were not busy at all (that’s not a good sign) but I thought maybe I missed the morning rush. So I made an appointment for a pedicure only.
When I walked in I was greeted by some of the staff, said I had a 1:30pm appointment for a pedicure. Of course they looked at one another like whats an appointment? The friendly gentleman who answered the phone said oh yes so glad you made it please choose a color. Looking through their colors they didn’t really have much to choose from a few older looking OPI’s and a bunch of off brand nail colors. Yuck! I settled on a color that I sorta liked.
I was seated in one of their spa chairs and asked if the water was okay. I noticed that since this place isn’t that old that the chair remote screen was half way burned out so I couldn’t adjust my timing which got annoying quick when I would shut off just when I was relaxing! Then I was asked what package I would like. Looking over the menu I decided just on the basic pedicure. She then looked at me and said no sea salt scrub. I smiled and said no thank you. I had to ask her a couple of times to not press to hard on my nails when she was trimming my cuticles as I can feel it. She said sorry and proceeded to do it more gently. Then came the sea salt scrub (um I said no before) which hurt since I just scrubbed my legs this morning with my own sea salt wash. The foot massage sucked! It was sloppy and their lotion was watered down. Plus her hands were rough. Ouch!
After the whole ordeal was over with she said my total was $ 22.00. Um no. I ignored her till I had my shoes on. She asked for my credit card and I said I’ll meet you at the counter to give it to you. When I got there I told her I only wanted the $ 17.00 pedicure. She said but you wanted sea salt scrub too. I said you asked and I said no thank you. I’m only paying $ 17.00 I handed my card to her and watched het plug in the amount. I signed my copy and vowed to warn other Unilocalers to avoid this place at all costs!!!

New nail shop in the Lakewood Long Beach area!!! Tiffany has been doing my nails for years! She takes her time and does them exactly how you ask for them! I always tell her she is an artist! She is very personable and makes you feel comfortable. I’ve followed her to 4 different nails shops. 2 of which she owns herself. I won’t have any one else do my nails! Love Tiffany!
