True Salon

A big thank you to YUKO for totally transforming my old and tired grandma hair. You brought it back to life with this vibrant red color! I’ve done a red look in the past but it never looked this good! I’m a stay at home mom so my go-​to hairstyle is a messy bun because I’m constantly on the move and don’t have the time to keep my hair looking it’s best. But this transformation has turned over a new leaf! I’m going to make more time for myself starting with this lovely new do. If you’re looking for a new look or just need a simple cut then go see them! Ask for Yuko, she’s awesome!

This place is amazing! You walk in and instantly are welcomed by the kind receptionist and my past four appointments have been on time. I see Stephanie and she makes my hair look fantastic. She takes the time to ask enough questions and find out what you want. She never cuts too much hair off which is huge for me! My hair is naturally brown and she has created a beautiful blonde color for me!

Have to gush once again. Stephanie just took me from dark, dyed roots and pink ends ombré to beautiful, Hamptons ash beach blonde.
It took her four hours to do this color correction, although I’d only booked in for a retouch and color maintenance. I’d usually never ask so much of a stylist out of one sitting, but Stephanie has constantly proven that she is up to the task.
She is a genius and a wizard with hair who never over promises, as well. She wants you to know what your hair type and color will allow but she always over delivers.
I love my hair and love having a stylist I can trust to create exactly what I want for my hair, every time. Thank you, Stephanie!

I hadn’t colored my hair in over a year and a half due to previous expeirences at other salons, and was so glad I chose Brittany Lee at true aveda to freshen up my poor neglected hair. I came in indecisive over what color to dye my hair and Brittany was really able to hone in on what I liked and didn’t like in the hair colors I showed her, and made the perfect blend of red and dark chocolate brown that just made me swoon. I have never had such a rich and beautiful hair color before in my life. She was incredibly knowledgeable and made me feel so comfortable from the minute I walked in to when I left. I will definitely come back on a regular routine now that I have found the perfect sylist. Thank you again Brittany!

Walked in without an appointment and was given prompt service. Britni was great! She didn’t try to sell me on anything, didn’t try to make irrelevant conversation, but answered any questions I had and made me feel comfortable. She definitely earned my trust. My hair is super long and thick, yet she took her time and was very patient. Will definitely seek her services from here on out. :)

Was a loyal Aveda client back home but after coming here I was very unhappy with my cut and color. Color was brassy and made me look washed out. It actually burnt on my head, which never happened to me before. Cut was ‘shaggy’ and really never looked styled. When I called and spoke to stylist, she kinda argued with me… not cool at all. Receptionist was not the most personable I have talked with either.
I wound up going to another salon and they fixed the mess I was in. I won’t return or recommend this salon.

I would not count this as a full review. All I had done was my eyebrows. $ 20.
Fatima did them and I am very happy. She was thorough and took her time, which I appreciated. She wore gloves. She prepped my skin properly. (I worked in a salon for a couple of years which is why I notice some of these things) She used a new wax stick and strip every time. When she was finished she used an aroma oil on my skin. Often times I break out if the wax is no good or not clean… not a single break out in this case. That also means they use a wax that is for sensitive skin.
The salon is pretty, professional, and well taken care of. (Meaning clean) Everyone speaks English. This was nice for people like me that really want to explain what I am looking for. I walked in on a Saturday and they were able to see me right away. Next time I will make an appointment because it is polite but they said eyebrows are easy to fit into the schedule. Although $ 20 might be on the «higher» side of an eyebrow wax, I feel I got what I paid for. But if all I have to pay is $ 5 more than most places for this type of an environment, I will count that as a good deal. I will definitely be going back.

Stephanie is the best! I’ve been going to her for years! My hair always looks amazing after I see her. Love their products as well.

There appear to be quite a few negative reviews about this salon, and that is unfortunate considering how incredibly happy I have been with my stylist, Jennika. My hair was nearly to my belly button when I walked into True Salon, and in need of some serious color improvement. When I left, I had the most adorable bob and a color that fit my personality and skin tone perfectly. I showed her photos of cuts I liked, and we had a great talk about what would work best for me, my hair, and my lifestyle and routine.
I was so comfortable (nay, elated!) with my new ‘do, I went back a few months later for a full-​on pixie. Again, I showed her a few photos and we talked, and when I couldn’t make up my mind, I just said surprise me. How often does that happen? Going in for a pixie and trusting your stylist 100% to cater it to YOU. And guess what, it was awesome.
I don’t know about the salon overall, but Jennika gave me great advice on product purchases, always gets me tea, and I always receive a complementary hand massage. I’m in love with her ;) if you decide to try this place out, ask for her!

I used a Groupon to try this salon for the first time. I got a newer girl, very nice but I had to go back with a more experienced stylist to“fix” it. It never looked like I had gotten a haircut. The idea of Groupons is to try the new place and go back right? All but one lady with tatoos who took the Groupon were nice. She made a face like it’s my fault management signs up for these promotions.

Today was my first time going to this salon! Overall, it was a good experience! Breanna cut my hair today, and she did an amazing job! She got me the look that I wanted! She was very careful of how I wanted my hair to look like, and was very polite. Can’t wait to go again soon!

My sister was in need of a root touch up and I was about due for my trim. With the holiday, it didn’t seem like we were gonna find an opening for the two of us. She was looking through Groupon offers and came across this salon. Not only did they have availability, but they had an amazing first time customer special offered online that was better than the groupon, so we booked it. Bear with me, because this will be long…

My experience: when checking in, my sister confirmed with the receptionist that we were to get the first time special that was online. My stylist, Breanna, thought that we had done a no-​show but we were standing right there. She took me back and had me sit in the chair. She asked me what I wanted to do with my hair and I told her I just wanted a trim, to keep the length and maintain my layers. She did not offer me any tea nor did she do much of a consultation. I voiced my concern of thinning hair and inquired about the Invati treatment. She said she would use it on me when she washed my hair. During the wash, I had a mini scalp massage – wouldn’t call it stress relieving, just a typical hair wash. I did not get a hot towel treatment nor was I offered a hand massage. My trim turned out perfect – she did an awesome job! When it came to the styling, she asked how I normally do my hair. I mentioned that we had a themed New Years party the next day and I didn’t want to do much to it. She did mention that there would be an extra charge to curl my whole head. I thought that was weird. Usually when a service includes a style and finish, that would include a curl or flat iron! When we were finished, I had to remind her of product that I was interested in and was shown where to find it. When checking out, I mentioned that I did not receive any of the specials and the guy was very apologetic saying that they usually do that at the school. I mentioned the online special and he didn’t know what I was talking about. Instead, he gave me some samples to make up for the lack of rituals performed on me.
Will I go back to this salon? Probably not. I didn’t really have a great experience to want to go back. If I just wanted to have someone trim my hair and not get any tea or massage, I can get that done elsewhere!

I had a groupon for a hair cut here with Karly. She was awesome! Great hair cut and knowledgable about my hair type and which products I needed. I will definitely be going back.

After Ali left the salon to pursue a new life, I had no idea what I was going to do as she had been my stylist for 7 years! She referred me to Brittany and my hair fell absolutely fell in love with her stylist skills. Taylor & Jamie always make me feel welcome, I’ve never had a problem checking out. I always get the same women’s haircut and I like to do either the botanical or scalp remedy treatment for the extra love my hair needs. I’m surprised that there are bad reviews but all I can say is give True Aveda a chance and if you have a problem let the management know.

I recently visited the salon because I purchased a Groupon. The Groupon itself was a good deal except for the fact that I was up charged in the middle of my facial for extractions. This is the first time I have ever been up charged for extractions during a facial ever, regardless of a Groupon. If you are going to offer a Groupon to gain new clients, scamming them in the middle of their service is no way to do that. The esthetician that I saw, Fatima was very good and very kind, she did a great job. However because of the principle I will not return to the salon.

This is just an update review from my previous bad experience, the manager has contacted me and was apologetic however all she offered me was a conditioning treatment and instead of leaving it in for 3 – 5 minutes she can leave it in for 15 whoopty doo Like I’m gonna let them touch my hair again she also said that the reasoning for the bad experience was because I didn’t have a thorough consultation and who’s fault is that? The stylist! My opinion on this place has remained the same I would still not recommend it to anyone and I have since fixed my hair it is pretty dang close to the color I wanted and feeling softer and more manageable than when I left this salon the only way I would ever step foot in this place would be for a refund unless she can do that. There’s no reason to contact me again

Thank you to Janet at True Salon for doing an outstanding job on my haircut! I bought a groupon last week and was able to easily make an appointment a couple days later. When I arrived the salon was neat, organized, and smelled great. Janet came out within a minute of me checking in and took me to the back. She was super sweet and friendly. During the shampoo she offered a complimentary hand massage or mini facial but I declined. She gave me a short haircut with long layers, blow dryed it and even styled it for me! This is the first time in years I haven’t had to fix a cut at home after going to get my hair cut. I will definitely be going back to True!

This is a forum to discuss my OPINION about an establishment! I truly dislike True Salon. If I am talking to a manager, I would hope the problem would be rectified. But instead I have been continuously insulted and questioned about whether or not I have had my hair cut or colored, or whether or not the service fits my budget. Please don’t harass me via Unilocal message, leave me alone. If you truly cared about customer satisfaction, you would have fixed the problem. But instead your dishonesty, elitist attitude, and lack of customer service will guarantee that I will never step foot in this horrid place again. ZERO STARS!!! :(

I love coming here. I feel relaxed as soon as I walk in the door. The place smells wonderful – you think you’ve walked into a spa. I’ve come twice for a haircut and once for brow waxing, and I’ve been very happy each time.
The stylists really, really listen to you when you explain what you want, and they don’t rush you like at other salons. Today I got bangs cut. My stylist was very thorough in discussing my options, and she made absolutely sure they were at the length I wanted. I am very happy with the results, and I look forward to going back in a few weeks for a trim :)

This salon is now under new management and I received a nice message asking if there is anything they can do to make my experience right. Unfortunately the damage to my hair is already done and I don’t feel comfortable taking the chance there again, especially since both stylists are still there. I appreciate their willingness to fix my problems. Hopefully this is a sign of a turnaround for True Aveda.
