The Westin Baltimore Washington Airport – BWI

I can’t say enough about the crew during Blizzard 2016, they are amazing. Of course I was stranded due to a canceled flight. The shuttle driver had a great attitude, lugged multiple overweight pieces of luggage, and, most importantly, great driving skills in the snow. The check in counter were very sympathetic got everyone in a room quickly and asked if there was anything else they could provide. Also the bar tender (Sarah?) a true professional. The rooms are clean, modern, and comfortable, but what sets them apart is the staff. They were terrific despite dealing with the blizzard themselves. Well done!!!

Rented a conference suite for a small but very important meeting. Sleeping quarters were fine but found the conference area a little lacking. The table had not been properly cleaned, carpet needed vacuumed and lamps needed bulbs.
Front desk help were outstanding in all respects. Polite, knowledgeable and very helpful.
Unfortunately I can not say the same for the bar and restaurant. The drinks were a very small pour at 1 ½ ounces and expensive. Dinner was filling but certainly nothing that would make me want to come back.
Bottom line if you are looking for a moderate priced hotel with a good staff, this will work. If you are planning to do any entertaining, I would go somewhere else.

I accidentally left my engagement ring in room 238. I checked in on December 20^th and left around 630 am on the 21^st. I have called numerous times.
I called on the 21^st as soon as I landed in Denver. The girl was very helpful and I waited on the line for what seemed like an eternity. She confirmed I was in room 238 Unfortunately I was told no ring. I gave her my name and number just in case it was found.
I called again on the 22^nd. The girl on the other end (not same girl) said there was nothing I could do but go to the website
and report it. I asked to talk to a manager and was told there were none.
I called on the 23^rd… twice… asked to speak directly to a manager. Which department? I was asked. I said anyone that could help me find my ring. Again, I was directed to that website. BTW, I did go the website and report my loss. I have yet to receive any notification if it was received or found or not!!!
I was finally patched thru to a Donna. She said she would go look in my room again. I told her exactly where I had left it and maybe it could have been knocked off or bounced under the bed or behind the dresser. Donna came back to phone and told me she looked in 234. I explained that was not my room. She said that is the room she look in and where I was registered, where I was told Monday I was in room 238. I confirmed this with my coworkers.
I am tired of getting the run around. A different answer for each time I call. Is there a reason why no one will let me talk to a supervisor or manager? Why my room number keeps changing. I would like to get some answers. I am willing to offer a reward. Please help me. I have had this ring for 25 years and have had the same routine for the last 25 ½ years staying in hotels and condos.

Decent hotel. Smaller than most Westins I stay in, but it was fine for a place to sleep. Not much in the area, but 15 – 20 mins will take you to downtown Baltimore. Quiet night’s sleep. Lobby is nice, room floors are just «ok.»

Nice surprise. This is newer than some of the other Westins I’ve been in. It didn’t hurt I was on the club/​executive floor. Unfortunately the free hot food is only M-​F morning, so my Friday night stay didn’t yield me any of those freebies but I did get an apple, a Nutrigrain bar, and soft drinks. The robe was also on point.
The bathroom was huge, but the room was surprisingly small. Just barely enough space between the foot of the bed and TV stand to do some push-​ups, etc. That’s all the space I need, but there ain’t much.
The other issue I had was with WiFi. I connected on my phone but it wouldn’t work on my laptop. They gave me a help desk number and it was fixed quickly, but it was just a little odd.
Floor-​to-​ceiling windows with a corner feature and black-​out curtains plus an ultra quiet room made sleep on the soft bed heavenly. (I only heard planes once or twice.) For room service, the bacon cheeseburger with fries was delicious… despite the fact that they forgot my bacon.
Downstairs for breakfast, the menu options are cheaper and better than the $ 19 buffet. I got a $ 9 yogurt parfait… which I quickly learned was half banana yogurt/​half strawberry yogurt. I HATE Bananas, so luckily the server had brought a bowl so I could dump out half of it.
Finally, their meeting services staff was friendly and went above and beyond to make sure our event in one of their swanky meeting rooms was a success. This is definitely a pretty awesome spot if you need to be close to BWI.

Had breakfast buffet at Weston Food was cold and had been sitting in chafers a while Also not a whole lot of choices to choose from was very disappointed for the money they charge also hotel seems run down compared to others in the area I would expect more from the Westin Only bright star was service was excellent and very sorry for the cold food She did try to fix some of the problem by bringing out some fresh items and offering us something else

Just can’t complain about the Westin. The rooms are clean. The showers are great and service is superb.

I’ve been coming here for years for the really nice gym, comfortable rooms, good (not free) breakfast and very comfortable dining room.
Past two times that I’ve come, the general ventilation has really been bugging me. It is not the individual air condiitioning, rather, it is general influx of air being blown into room through small vent above bed. They’ve got the rate of airflow in that vent set extremely high. This is going on in all rooms in the hotel. The result is that the noise level from that vent in the room is very obtrusive, and also it interferes with the room’s air conditioning or heating establishing any temperature. (You can try turning off the individual room heating/​cooling fan and that doesn’t stop the ventilation flow or noise).
The first time I noticed it, engineering came and duct taped cardboard over the vent to quiet it. This time I requested the same but no one came.
I noticed other reviews mentioning this so the hotel has to know about it. Something is going on with this, like there’s some problem like glue fumes or mold that they’re trying to clear.

Best sleep in BWI area airports. 7^th floor executive suites with lounge is the way to go (complimentary snacks, beverages, etc)

Food in restaurant– 2 stars (not many options to choose from and breakfast buffet was mediocre)
This hotel is located very close to BWI but unlike the other hotels in the area it’s not affected by the jet noise. I haven’t heard any planes which is a huge deal to me to get a quiet nights sleep. With that being said it is an airport location so don’t expect to be confidently close to the Inner Harbor or anything.

Very clean, very calm hotel. Been for a conference, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone! Easy access from highway and free parking. Free Wifi in lobby and works well.

Cleanliness is the only thing that saved the review from being 1 star. The room and bathroom were clean and nice. However the bed and pillows were very old and sunken in. But the bad experience came from service. The front desk staff were pretty nice, however the restaurant service was atrocious. The servers flat out behaved like I was a nuisance and was disturbing them by daring to enter their domain. One shuttle driver got lost taking me to a destination 0.8 mile down the road (on Old Elkridge Landing road — the same road the hotel is on) and he took me 20 miles and 35 minutes out of the way despite having given him the address of the destination. In the end he apologized by saying he «didn’t know the area well.» For the price and brand, I expected a lot more from Westin.

This is a great hotel to staying for a short layover or for your full trip. I stay here or at the Sheraton whenever I am passing through BWI airport. The Westin is warm and inviting, friendly staff, nice rooms with incredibly comfortable beds. The food at the restaurant in this hotel is wonderfully prepared and tasty.

This is a great hotel for the price. Biggest pro: free parking! Staff are courteous despite the stress of multiple events occurring during our stay (gala, large soccer tournament, sales training session, etc.). Rooms are clean and comfortable. The curtains are black out curtains which is great for guests like us who want to sleep in as late as possible! Workout center is decent and spacious.

Decent Westin, rooms are nice, and staff was friendly. Parking was a little odd (mostly behind hotel) but free. For Platinums, they allow breakfast in the restaurant as well as the lounge, which is a nice touch. Didn’t use the workout room, but looked pretty nice. Only downer is location, not a lot around there except the airport, so don’t come to hang out. Food in the restaurant was decent, though the dinner menu was a little limited.

I’m a little late on this review since my stay was in November 2013 but I can’t imagine much has changed within 6 – 7 months time. I had a great experience here. As soon as I called the hotel for the shuttle it was there within 5 minutes to pick me up from the airport, and the driver very friendly. The front desk staff was very personable and helpful as well. I used the gym which was clean and had magazines, towels and water available.
The only hiccup was the only store inside the hotel and next to the front desk ran out of water on my last night there. I would stay here again and would recommend it.

If someone has a pistol to your head right now as you read this and is forcing you to spend a night by the airport in Baltimore, you should try this hotel. Clean rooms, nice lobby bar, quiet location, fitness area, reasonably priced (except for the room service). You’ll almost forget you were forced to spend a night… in Baltimore… by the airport.

This hotel has seen better days. I don’t think it had an update since it opened in 2005 judging by the multiple scuff marks on the walls. The receptionist that greeted me when I checked in was warm and professional. Unfortunately, the vibe we got from most of the staff was that they’d rather be elsewhere … and they were. We had to hunt them down for service at the restaurant and during our conference several times. The water pitchers ran dry by mid-​day one day and they just sat there empty. There really needs to be more attention paid to important things like keeping the water pitchers filled.
As green as they like to have us believe (via the ability to decline room service) they do sure use quite a bit of disposable cups. All the cups for coffee/​tea are disposable. They do put out both plastic cups and glasses for water. Why not just switch to all reusable cups and mugs to maintain consistency for environmental friendliness?
Bonus: the parking is free. WiFi is availalbe for $ 13 for each 24hrs.
I would be less than happy with the experience had I paid more than 100 bucks/​night.

Nice hotel. I like the fitness area and the indoor pool/​jacuzzi. Restaurant is expensive, but that is expected when dining at restaurants in hotels.
They have the green choice option if you do not want to service room to be cleaned, but you will have to ask for shampoo/​fresh towels if you need them.
They do not serve free breakfast for loyalty member from Friday to Sunday :(
The room HVAC is noisy … Even though I turned it off.

Actual rating is 3 ½ stars. Great hotel, very nice, but poor execution.
Stayed here for a business trip, I got a room with a king bed and wifi and continental breakfast included.
Rooms: white linens (which is pretty much a requirement for any place that I stay), tv, desk, nice bathroom. Needs more attention to detail when it comes to cleaning though. There was dust at the bottom of some furniture and debris under the bed and furniture. Just takes a couple extra minutes to take care of these details.
I had an issue with the room I was in the first night (I believe it was 343). The vent was so loud that it kept me up all night. It was a very loud buzzing sound that kept coming on randomly and I got some of the worst sleep ever. I went down to the concierge first thing the next morning and talked to, I think his name was Adrian. He switched my room right away, with no hassle! I was so thankful for that. The rest of my stay was MUCH better and my new room was quieter.
Gym: pretty basic, but with a little creativity you can get a great work out in
Continental breakfast at Luminous Lounge: pastries and sliced bread, yogurt, cereal, fruits (bananas, green apples, oranges, sliced melons, berries), omelet station, waffle maker, coffee & juices. Service was just okay.
**Coffee was not very good or strong! It wasn’t bad, but I was expecting a place like this to have great coffee and I was disappointed. :/​
They had this program which I thought was great. You place a hanger on the outside of the door that says you are refusing maid service (change linens & towels, cleaning) and for each day you do this, you will receive a $ 5 food voucher for use in the hotel restaurant. I did this for three nights and was able to get a burger in the lounge for dinner, for practically free! Such a great idea.
Overall, I would stay at a Westin again.

4 star property but was disappointed with decline.
Used to be a great property (clean and well kept) and I don’t understand if changes occur in management, or budgets, etc., however the property is showing age and upkeep seems to be an issue. My recent stay showed hallway sconce covers damaged, debris on the floor for two days, my room had scotch tape in the corners, dried food? on pictures, light fixtures, etc. I booked via online booking site so my rate was fair, however I would be upset if a hotel priority member paying full posted rates, as this hotel is now sub par with other 4+ star properties.
