Warning, blunt honesty ahead ;) …Juniper is homestyle cooking done bland as can be. Only thing I enjoy here are the steak fries. Everything else is dated and average, then fried in canola oil. Flavors not much better than fast food, served in a cramped dining room with restaurant price tags. $ 16 bucks for fast food rainbow trout? No thanks. Yet the line of old folks waiting to order usually goes to the door. I’ve had to stomach too many meals here over the years. Meals I never finish, take home and eventually end up in my garbage. Luckily my parents had a recent taste bud awakening and haven’t dragged us back since. Maybe my grandma was just an amazing cook? I dunno. But I can whip up much tastier home cookin’ from her old recipes than I can get here. So I’ll leave Juniper to the elderly and the taste impaired, and happily drive right on by. UPDATE — After another stop, turkey steak sandwich is bland, but the sweet potato waffle fries are darn good. Service was friendly, though the packed dining room delayed our food a while. I upped it to 2 stars.

Quite an interesting menu — everything from ribeye to salmon nuggets. Very reasonably priced and they have Iron Port on tap, which was only one of the unusual artisan offerings — a lot of choices not normally found on tap. Husband had sourdough steak sandwich w/fries. Fries were very good, and their fry sauce seemed to have more seasoning than the ones we’ve had. He loved the sandwich. I had the roasted pit ham plate w/green beans, au gratin potatoes and a roll. The roll was a yeast roll served with sweet butter. The green beans were bland, and the ham dry, but the au gratin potatoes were amazing! Lot of cheese and flavor. Meal came with a small dipping portion of something between the texture apple pie filling and fried apples. I used it to dip my ham and it made a huge difference. Very busy place; meal took about 15 min to arrive after placement. We’ll probably be back, just so I can try some of the soups and the salmon nuggets. :)

My family ordered some takeout for dinner and we were extremely disappointed. We got some sandwiches and they were all bland. There were many toppings included in the sandwiches, the ‘steak and cheese’ was actually just a hamburger patty with a slice of cheese. We were expecting something more like a Philly Cheese Steak sandwich. It was also really difficult trying to order over the phone because the menu they have online apparently isn’t the current menu at the store, so we had to try and communicate with the employees what would be similar to the things we wanted from the old menu.

Locally owned, great food, excellent service. I’ve eaten here for many years and always enjoy the food. My favorite item on the menu is the Turkey Steak Sandwich combo. You can’t find another sandwich quite like it. Love it!!! The jumbo fries are hard to beat! See pic below. Juniper is very popular among locals; especially the older crowd. Their traditional«meat and potatoes» style items on the menu attract a loyal crowd of seniors who know quality when they see it. My grandpa loves him some rainbow trout — Me as well! My wife loves the tomato macaroni soup. Their proprietary recipe is not recorded on paper or shared with anybody; not even the employees. The owners make it fresh daily. It’s a must try for any soup lover. In addition to the excellent food, Juniper has quality service. The employees are always upbeat, happy, and professional. Plan on waiting longer than a typical fast food wait time. Juniper prepares your food after you order — not before. Strongly recommend for anyone looking for traditional home style food.

I stopped in for lunch on a Friday. There were a handful of people waiting to get in when I arrived which I took as a good sign. They have a giant menu board behind the cashier that shows most of the food options — this is something I really appreciate. I chose the chicken fingers meal, which cost about $ 10 including a drink, fries, green beans and a roll. A few minutes later the meal was brought to my table. The staff were all very friendly. The food was good and hot. The chicken fingers were tasty and the breading wasn’t too«bready.» The fries were thick steak-cut fries and the roll was good. The green beans tasted canned but they were fine. They have a completely different version of the menu that is generally the same items but gluten-free, which is cool. They also have a bunch of desserts. They have a couple of sodas I’ve never had before: Apple Beer and Iron Port — a google search revealed that they are popular out here. I would definitely return if I was in the area again.

Their prices were insane for what you get. I’m pretty sure they think they made their food with some sort of precious substance that can’t be found anywhere else! I would more so compare their food to a school lunch, canned food, or microwaved food. It wasn’t good at all. The fries were dry and bland. The sandwich had no flavor, besides the sauce which really wasn’t that great at all. The bread was supposed to be toasted, but more so soggy/mushy. Very gross, will not EVER go back!

Turkey steak with mashed potatoes and brown gravy are amazing! It’s quick and tasty. It is not rare to find the owner taking orders and running the cash register. They also get fresh halibut often enough that my parents get it every time. People mentioned it was too expensive, but you get the same or greater quality food as a sit down restaurant but you are supporting a locally owned business. So for me it is a no brainier.

Gluten free paradise for those missing out on «real» foods — like turkey steaks! Sweet Baby Jesus… was just there, and I’m already craving one again.(Darn manfriend who is originally from the area introduced me to turkey steaks 5 years ago, and then about 4 years ago, I had to go GF due to migraines — I have missed them so!) They have a HUGE gluten free menu including sandwiches, dinners(GRAVY!!!) and desserts. Also, they do NOT charge extra for the GF menu, as most places do! Even have GF dinner rolls(swoon!)! Being from Seattle, I thought the prices were decent — didn’t seem out of the ball park for a good meal from a family owned place. I like to support the local small business owners, even if I pay a $ 1 or 2 extra for my meal. Also, get an Iron Port from the soda machine — it’s a Dr. Pepper with vanilla — quite the tasty little concoction!

So i’m not one of those people that writes reviews… ever. But i am a on a whole other level of unsatisfied. I walked in to what seemed like a nice place with familes and kids enjoying their meals. Very appealing menu items with large pictures of what’s included in each meal. The steak caught my eye and so i ordered it. Much to my surprise it was out fairly quickly… when i saw my plate i was waiting for my side order of green beans and potatoes and bread roll. i got a soggy blood soaked doughy on the inside roll and a cold steak cooked to my liking of rareness. Couldn’t have been more unhappy with proportions and how much i paid. Not to mention plasticware to cut my steak and a packet of A1 sauce. Let’s go as cheap as possible, you better believe it was on a plastic plate as well. Not happy. 15 $ later i honestly want my money back. I would not reccomend to a friend, and i hope it goes out of business.

Good homemade style that never disappoints. The restaurant is always clean, the food always comes out quick, and the girls behind the counter are friendly. As some other reviewers have said, the price is a little much for comparable quantities around Logan, but you’ll never be dissatisfied with what you spent your $ on.

The food is usually pretty solid, but the prices are extravagant. The soda machine blows too. I would rather go to somewhere fancier if I’m going to pay $ 15 for a decent portioned meal. My friends love this place, and whenever I go I get the grilled cheese because it is one of the only meals under $ 10.

Very good spot for a quick lunch. Our group had the turkey salad on croissant, a burger, and a turkey steak sandwich. The sandwich itself was enough to eat without the fries, FYI. Good atmosphere for family or groups. Nice spot for a quick and tasty lunch.

Love all the gluten free options. How many restaurants have gluten free fried chicken? Or gluten free breaded trout? Rolls? Sweet potato fries? The list goes on. This is an excellent restaurant but especially if you like having a gluten free menu which looks very similar to the regular menu. Highly recommended.

Very bland. Ordered the deluxe hamburger and the turkey steak sand which. They did not season the hamburger at all. The turkey stake all you could taste was the sauce which left a lot to be desired. Prices are very high, food not worth the price. Best part of the meal was the apple beer from the drink station. Will not be returning.

If you like to eat what essentially amounts to a large hamburger patty that is being passed of as a steak then this place is for you. Our«steaks» were extremely bland, and I would guess did not have even a pinch of seasoning. The mashed potatoes were, in fact, real, but were just as bland. Even the gravy was bland. The best part about the meal was the roll. We got our daughter the grilled cheese, and her sandwich was better than our meat. Oh, and be prepared to pay a premium price for this horrible food. I honestly don’t understand how they stay in business serving food of this quality, especially given how expensive it is.

I can’t get enough of the Tomato Macaroni soup. Everything is cooked fresh after you order it. It is worth the wait(which is not that long). Turkey Steak sandwich is so yummy.

This is a popular place right in the heart of downtown Logan. The other reiviewers are right about the pricing. It is a very spendy option for what you get. This had me leaning towards a three star rating, but then I thought about the tomato macaroni soup. Seriously worth the additional star just for that. They serve all kinds of different comfort foods and the food has always been top quality. I usually go with the ground round beef steak. You could do a lot worse in Logan.

Good home cookin. Everything is good. Love the sliced turkey croissant sandwich. Their fries are SO good, with Deverle’s seasoning and fry sauce. Yum! I love that they have coke and Pepsi products!
