Great service like always…, specially from my waiter Jodie! She is new at this place and is amazing how fast she feet in to the Ra family. Very friendly atmosphere.

Let’s start with the one and only positive, atmosphere was decent. My server was utterly clueless. I wanted warm sake and she didn’t even know what kind of sake would be warm. The sushi was extremely bland, tasteless and it honestly felt like it came out of a carton as oppose to being freshly rolled by a chef. Very tough to tell the difference between types of fish because they all tasted really stale and non flavorful. Personally, this places gets business cause of the location. Food is awful. Do not come here if you want tasty sushi.

Hoo“RA“y for RA! An affordable and fun atmosphere to get your sake and sushi on! Especially for the great prices during weekday happy hours 3−7pm. Star #1: This location has an outdoor patio for those sunny days and moon tanning nights. The interior has a trendy sushi bar on the right and spacious seated tables within. Star #2: As an added tip, make reservations using your Open Table app to get dining points and make sure upon approaching the host desk to let them know you made reservation through OT. Star #3: Their menu has a vast selection of mixed Asian cuisine from sushi to Chinese fare. There are options for raw and cooked alike. Star #4: The bar has an eclectic array from sake to mixed drinks. I recommend a cold unfiltered sake to share or the amazing fish bowl for fun. Star#5: Service is good. Servers and bartenders alike are timely and friendly.

Went in for a later lunch wasn’t as busy as I was expecting, which is good for me at least. They have a perfect patio that have both high and low top tables. Nice décor and a cool full stocked bar. Happy Hour Mon-Sat 3pm-7pm/10-Close Sun 3pm-Close That offer drink specials, select sushi & appetizers $ 3.49 — $ 8.99 Pepsi products, Ice tea, sparkling and bottled water options. Specialty cocktails ranging around $ 8.50 which isn’t too bad. Also found it pretty cool they have a sake«measurement guide». It measures the density of sake compared to water and has ratings to each explaining if it’s «drier» or «sweeter». I got the Ra’ckin Roll which is a crab and cream cheese rolled tempura batter topped with guacamole and shrimp and finished off with a creamy ginger teriyaki and red tempura and the Crispy Fried Rice. Both were pretty good and I was VERY satisfied. I will be back again :)

The food is mediocre at best. However, service is almost nonexistent. We came on a Wednesday for lunch, and the place was pretty quiet with only three tables in the lounge area. We opted for the dining area instead of the lounge. We ordered the rockin shrimp, and it came out looking way over fried. My mom refused to eat it. So, I wanted to send it back for a redo. I must have waited for at least 10 minutes with no one passing by. I ended up waving someone down across the restaurant just to ask for my server. My server still took a while to come over. She took the shrimp back with no problems. And it’s not that she wasn’t friendly, she just wasn’t around. We ran out of tea, but no one came around to check if we wanted more, and which my mom did. We finished eating, and just sat there for like 15 minutes trying to someone’s attention to get our bill. Again, no one came, so this time I had to call out to the bus boy by the water stand to get my server. When she finally came, the bill was wrong. They charged me twice for the freaking shrimps. Of course our server corrected this, but I hope you can feel my sense of annoyance and frustration with this establishment. My server came back with a coupon for $ 10 off a $ 30 purchase on my next visit. I left it there. Unless someone else is paying, it’s very unlikely they will see another penny of mine.

My favorite sushi place I love coming here when I’m visiting Chicago. Living in Las Vegas there are not that many great sushi place is surprisingly even though there are Asian people everywhere.

RA has good happy hour deals(which has been the main and sometimes ONLY reason why I come to RA.) If you’re looking for good sushi and you know what it should taste like, I recommend going elsewhere. However, if you’re new to sushi and aren’t excited about the idea of consuming raw fish, this isn’t a bad place to start since they have a lot of «easy» rolls filled with cheese and all kinds of things you wouldn’t find in a real sushi restaurant. They also have a lot of other non-sushi entrees. If you’re a sushi enthusiast, stay away. Their rolls are poorly constructed and their sashimi can be hit or miss in terms of the cut and freshness. Also, their mixologist or whoever is making drinks needs to step up their game/recipes because their drinks are terrible.

The food here is decent, but there are definitely better places out there. It’s pretty expensive for what you get. The service is average to above average. I usually get the chirashi or the spicy tuna lunch bowl. I think the atmosphere and ambiance is very nice, and has a nice somewhat upscale feel to it. And I’m sure they get a good crowd based on the location but there are just better places for sushi. To top it off, they don’t accept coupons off your phone. Who makes you print shit these days? It’s a waste of paper and they are unique codes anyway.

Let me start by saying 3 stars is generous for the last trip I had in RA Sushi. The only reason it was less is because I have had great service here in the past. Most days I would give RA. 5 stars for food and staff even on the busiest of days. I’ve worked in the service industry before so I get it. It started with getting us a table. My fiancé and I met with another couple for dinner and drinks one night. We got there early so we could put our name in. We put our name in and waited 45 while other people walked in and for sure did not have reservations. Once everybody was seated and we continued to sit in the waiting area, the hostess asked us our name again and mumbled under her breath, «oh shit» and said right this way. Once we were seated we were seated at a table for 2 with 4 people. Even though we’re close friends we don’t like to eat that close to each other. We ordered drinks and an app before placing our main order. We got our sushi first and our friends 20 minutes later followed by our app for dessert. Drinks ran dry and my patience ran thin. We left our server a 20% tip because I know our experience was not 100% her fault. I also know people have off days and they survive on tips. She was a nice girl and it wasn’t her fault we were stuck at a 2 person table. I really hope front of the house management reads this and works on how they seat people a little bit better.

I’ve been coming to Ra for years, they are open late and the ambiance is not bad. All last week I seemed to be eating out and eating late. My boyfriend and I had a taste for sushi but most places were closed, but Unilocal saved the day by suggesting Ra. We drove over to Yorktown mall to dine at Ra. We got there around 10 and the bar/lounge area was pretty busy. We stood at the door waiting for someone to greet us for way too long. Finally someone seats us and she brings us waters. They have happy hour that late at night and some of their rolls are on special. That was very nice, so we ordered a few rolls from that menu and we also ordered their specialty rolls. The sushi isn’t bad but it isn’t the best I’ve had, this is a chain after all. The Ra-llipop stole the show. Cool presentation and it was delicious. It had 3 different kinds of fish if I remember correctly. We enjoyed our meal very much. Everything was good but the service was lacking. The girl who sat us was also our server and bar tender. I think they were too busy for the amount of staff they had working. Ra is a great place to have drinks at, they are open late and it’s a fun scene.

Ugh so disappointed with RA. I’m a busy mom of two. This was one of my favorite restaurants. My husband and I planned on getting a to-go order to celebrate our Valentine’s Day instead of dragging our kids with us and ruining other people’s evenings. I called to place the order, pressed the correct to-go extension and was transferred to what seemed to be the hostess. The hostess seemed incredibly annoyed when I asked for a to-go order. Maybe it’s because lots of people were waiting to be seated? I can only speculate. While she took my order she kept asking«THEWHAT?» When I listed item names(which I read right off the menu pdf file). Multiple times. Horrible phone and people skills. No manners. She ended up taking my order and said«k. It’ll be ready in 30 mins» and barely gave me enough time to say goodbye. Realizing she didn’t repeat my order — I texted my husband who was already there to double check the order. Unfortunately he didn’t see my message(husbands ;) am I right?) and when he got home — we checked the food. Surprise surprise! She forgot an entrée. By then it was too late to drive all the way back there and look for parking on Valentine’s Day weekend. We just decided to forget it. Our kids ended up splitting our entrée. Date night was cancelled. This used to be my favorite place. I wish managers would realize if they choose people who completely lack any personal skills as the first impression their clients get, they won’t have returning customers. This experience was enough to make me not even bother going back. I probably won’t be returning.

RA is a petty solid sushi place in the burbs. Their rolls are definitely generous with size of their rolls, and they’re priced accordingly. The biggest issue I have with most sushi places is I leave hungry cause I don’t want to spend a small fortune for a satisfying meal. At RA, my gf and I split 4 rolls and we left satisfied! They have great presentation, and their rolls and sauces were delicious! Our server, Alyssa, was amazing! She was constantly checking up on us, making sure our drinks were full. When she dropped off the check, she said«there is absolutely no rush, take your time and enjoy.» We were there on a very busy Friday night. For her to reassure use that we could just stay an chill, instead of trying to turn the table, was very nice to hear! We will definitely be back and we’ll definitely be requesting her section next time!!!

I must say, in the last 2 years, RA has really stepped its game up in the sushi department. I’ve visited about 3 times since my first review. Their newish Happy Hour menu makes my wallet and my stomach happy. They have about 20 roles on that menu to choose from for a much better price than the original price. They also have some drinks on there as well. They do make a mean cosmopolitan for 5 dollars on the HH menu. They also have their famous Viva Las Vegas role for 7 dollars, and their Rainbow Role for 8. When you’re talking those roles are usually 13, 14 or 15 dollars, I’d say it’s worth the effort to go during Happy Hour. My favorite part though… Their RA club! On my half birthday, they sent me a $ 20 dollar certificate. No real strings attached. No minimum purchase. It was honestly, one of the best birthday related deals I’ve ever gotten. So give these guys a try. Yes, they have a young wait staff… So the service isn’t always the best. But I’ve never had too many issues. The drinks are good, the sushi is good, and I always leave satisfied. Enjoy!

We split the Spicy Salmon bowl and california roll. I enjoyed the spring onions in the miso soup. Our server Sam was very attentive and sweet!

RARA Shish Boom —- Baaaah. As in bah, this place is just kinda baah. Not terrible, not great just kinda in the middle. Happy hour specials are pretty good, about $ 6 for a Martini and/or roll. Each night they also have additional weekday specials that range from 2 for 1 rolls or specific rolls that can be even cheaper than the happy hour stuff. Sushi — All I can say is that this place is not very original. They seem to have an excess of Krab«salad» stuff that is normally present only in California rolls. It showed up in all of the rolls and was just not that impressive. left me with the impression of just being a filler to avoid any other ingredients. Bland and not exciting at all. On the contrary though, the dessert here was amazing. Very tasty and original, the fried exterior was a crispy delight mixed with the chocolate. Service was pretty good, the staff were all very attentive and were very helpful. Since we caught all the specials the prices were great. Give it a try if you are feeling a bit adventurous but I would not come back on my own but if others wanted to, I would not refute.

Honestly I didn’t choose this place. My bestie didn’t want to drive too close to the city. If it were up to me, I would only eat sushi at sen in oak park. But we came here so let’s move on. It’s in the heart of the suburbs at Yorktown mall so you will always find parking. Let me just get to the point: Is it clean: very Is parking free: yes Is it good for groups: yes Is there outdoor seating: yes, plenty Was it nice inside: very much so Is there variety in the drink menu: yes Was the service good: I would say average Was the sushi good: one of the three I tried were good. I didn’t like the other ones. They tasted like they came out of a box at store or something Did you get an appetizer: yes, the lobster roll. The sauce was good but the rolls had too much cream filling. It was not as described. The store is very nice and clean and well decorated. This is a chain of restaurants so keep that in mind. It’s a suburb and at the mall so remember that too. It’s not very fresh. The vegetable roll was delicious which was surprising. I don’t plan on returning to be honest but it’s nothing against the store. I just don’t like their sushi. Plus I don’t live here anymore. The smaller sushi independently owned and run stores are where it’s at. I think this place fulfills its duty to the area. I’m sure the kiddos love this place. I would say 1 – 2 stars. They deserve at least two because of how clean and well decorated this store is. Maybe even three stars if you pick the right rolls. I just wasn’t lucky with the rolls today.

I actually have been taking advantage of happy hour. First time I went, really bad Second time… AWESOME. I had sushi and I loved it! Last few times: SERVERSUCKS. Ask for Alyssa. My favorites are spicy shrimp and shrimp nigiri. I don’t get the«Franken» rolls due to not wanting to be 600 lbs.

I love Ra Sushi! I’ve been to the Lombard location many times, and visited the San Diego location once. Everything is so delicious here, from the appetizers to dessert. I have tried many rolls here and have never been disappointed. A few things you must try from the menu: 1. Crunchy Shrimp Tempura Roll 2. Viva Las Vegas Roll 3. «Ra“ckin’ Roll 4. Gojira Roll 5. Garlic Edamame 6. Moshi Mojito and/or Ginger Blossom 7. Coconut Crème Brulee Those are my go-to’s every time I visit Ra. Other items on the menu including apps, rolls, cocktails, and desserts are just as good, but the above are hands down their specialty items. I love that service at Ra is always fast and good, and the ambiance is very inviting. Definitely a go-to for sushi in the western suburbs!

I would highly recommend the strawberry lemonade and the Vegas roll. This was my second time coming to this restaurant and similar to the first time, almost every table order a Vegas roll. «Order it for the Instagram.» The Vegas roll looks really pretty and it worth the order just for a quick snapchat. The restaurant also has happy hours so the rolls are a little bit cheaper. Aside from the Vegas roll, the other rolls were ok. Nothing too special. One of my friends ordered the chicken Katsu, but the order did not come with rice. Most places that I have been to usually include rice in the order, but I guess this place does not. Free refill for the strawberry lemonade, totally worth it. This restaurant also have outside seatings which is really nice on sunny days.
