Tyler Winery

Upon entering Tyler I was greeted with happiness and joyful smiles from the employees and guests. When the guests are beaming with joy, it’s speaks volumes about the wine/​service. It’s a must visit in Lompoc Wine Ghetto.

Tyler is one of the top winemakers in California. Tasting here is a great way to learn more about this terrific producer and have the opportunity to buy the wine that is often very hard to find. Setting up a tasting here requires a quick email. We were hosted by a passionate and knowledgable young woman. Excellent stop. The tasting fee is fair at $ 15 per person.

Tyler has a small but inviting tasting room with a small tasting menu of 4 wines to match. We had heard that Tyler had great pinots but we didn’t find that to be the case. Bad they were not but they were expensive and nothing special for that price point.

2^nd stop for wine tasting. Don’t miss it like we did as the entrance is on the street side.
We walked into the winery to see tons of barrels and a cute little tasting bar. They were serving 4 wines: 2 Chardonnays and 2 Pinot Noirs.
Of the 4 I tasted, my favorites were:
–2013 Chardonnay, Santa Barbara County: tart, but easy to drink
–2013 Pinot Noir, Santa Barbara County: peppery scent but nice smooth finish, easy to drink
The 2013 Zotovich Family Chardonnay was very light that it almost reminded me of a Sauvignon Blanc.
The staff who helped us even gave us a mini tour of the warehouse and their wine making process so that was nice.
Tasting fee was $ 15, but it was waived since we made some purchases. Highly recommend for your wine tasting tour!

Love this wine! Such a cute little tasting room! I love it because you can be tasting wine and admiring the amazing barrels that are in their tasting room. Tyler produces great Pinots. They were definitely my favorite. Will absolutely make sure to come back next time we are in the area!
