LYFE is Good Elite Event

I loved this Unilocal event! I did yoga on the patio with some other ladies before heading into dine. I worked up an appetite, so when I heard that much of the food was vegan, my stomach grumbled a little bit.
But, now I dream of vegan food– like corn chowder and chocolate chip cookies. I will definitely get the unfried chicken the next time I’m there (not vegan, but neither am I). The wine selections were pretty solid– I loved the fact that they reduce waste by using «kegs» instead of bottles.
Can’t wait to go back to LYFE!

Going thru bad traffic to this event perhaps was a sign. But we are NOT deter by it. I am curious what LYFE has to offer. Overall 4 stars for the staffs. But with regards to the food they provide that Thursday evening of May 29^th 2014, get our 3 stars rating.
For one, when we arrived, maybe the distribution of the «Proper Menu» at our table went missing and were missing. None to be found. The Tail’s Grain Bowl get alot of favorites at our table. Somehow, none at our table believe those «Gardenin Beefless Tips» DOES NOT Contain Beef. I know the flavors of «Gardenin» products coz I cook «Gardein» items at home. *SIGH*
YES, the staffs take their time to talk to everyone at our table, INCLUDING the visiting Chef Jeremy.
Nevertheless thank you Frances for organizing this event and thank you LYFE for hosting us all. Thank you for the complimentary Lunch Box, and other tokens to entice us to return. Maybe we can «introduce» LYFE to others who are keen into this kind of lifestyle. Even after Dinner Hubs is still hungry. Furthermore, the portion even with family style dining and sharing with others are doable for me, NOT for Hubs. My apologies for this un-​stellar review.

Very cool event with a yoga option (which I didn’t do but it sounded cool), chair massages (geez what’s wrong with me? I didn’t do that either), along with superior service and fresh, light food.
They serve Coda coffee (vivace I believe), which was so well made. It was the first coffee I was able to enjoy without cream or sugar. All the food was so healthy, it was great. The community seating option they have are very fun. I can’t wait to use the insulated lunch bag.
Everything offered was so well planned and thought out. It is wonderful to see a restaurant with commitment to such a worthy mission. I look forward to coming back to check it out again!

The concept of this restaurant intrigued me enough to make the 40+ minute drive to Park Meadows to give this place a try. LYFE is located in the mall between Nordstrom’s and Crate & Barrel with a beautiful shaded patio.
After trying a sizable portion of their menu I can only hope that they start to open more and more locations in CO more convenient for me. It’s a quick service environment where you order at the counter and the food is brought out to you within 10 minutes. All dishes are 600 calories or less and 1000 mg of sodium or less — a huge commitment if you ask me.
I tried a little bit of everything being offered for the evening and was pleasantly surprised at how flavorful all the dishes were. I enjoyed the BBQ Chicken Flatbread as a passed appetizer as well as the Edamame Hummus. I’m a girl who loves a salad, and the Farmer’s Market salad was tossed with lots of fun ingredients and dressed with a balsamic vinaigrette that will keep me coming back time and again. I thought their take on chicken was wonderful, a baked piece of chicken with a crispy crust that mimics fried chicken is genius. Not to mention the lovely Brussels sprouts that come with the chicken.
Every Manager and Server we encountered was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. LYFE offers a modern day menu that caters to carnivores, vegans, vegetarians, and gluten free diets on the same level. LYFE is offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner and would be a perfect destination before or after a workout.

I feel really lucky that I was able to attend another fantastic Unilocal event at LYFE Kitchen, the first outpost in the Denver metro of this fast casual restaurant chain which is set to open to the public on June 6^th.
The well informed, and very friendly, opening team at LYFE made our Unilocal group feel special by setting aside time to speak to each table about the food, the concept, and the core values which make up the LYFE brand. I was impressed with the intelligence and frank discussions we had with the owners, Rachel and DJ, about how bringing healthy and great tasting food to more people at a fair price point is part of LYFE’s commitment to «Do Good.»
The managers, cooks, bussers, and servers were great ambassadors for the brand as we enjoyed our generous multi-​course meal. The tables were pre-​set with edamame hummus which was served with assorted veggies and flax seed crisps for dipping. I liked the hummus, but was thinking that the rest of the meal might follow the same predictable formula one sees at healthy restaurants.
I couldn’t have been more wrong. The rest of the evening gave the Unilocal crowd a broad taste from the menu and included sampling a chicken BBQ flatbread (a bit too sweet for my taste), a satisfying corn chowder cleverly thickened with cashews and potatoes, an arugula salad (a bit heavy on the balsamic based dressing for me) with sharp flavor notes which came from pickled onions, spiced pecans, and goat cheese, and two mains, a grain bowl and an unfried chicken dish.
The grain bowl of quinoa and black rice, came with stir-​fried veggies, Gardein brand beefless tips and a chile-​ginger sauce. For me, the faux beef tips detracted from the whole because of their texture. I would have been just as pleased with the dish without them.
The most pleasant surprise and best tasting entrée to me was the chicken. The lightly breaded and baked chicken was moist and tender. Brussels sprouts, butternut squash and dried cranberries were the accompaniment, and completing the dish was a sauce of cashew cream with a hint of Dijon. This is definitely a dish I would try again.
Of course there was dessert to try as well. The chocolate budino with pomegranate chia seeds was rich enough to satisfy any chocolate craving. I should not have hesitated to eat the freshly baked chocolate chip cookies because when I sampled mine it had cooled to a hardness which begged for some cold milk. The lack of butter in the cookie made it completely vegan and would appeal to many people — for me when I want a cookie I’ll stick with the stick.
LYFE Kitchen impressed me and my fellow Unilocalers enough that we will definitely be visiting again to try the rest of the menu and experience the restaurant as it was intended, as a fast casual concept. Glad I was able to attend this event, thank you Unilocal,Frances, and the LYFE team! You have a great concept — all the best and much success to Lyfe as they begin their life in CO.

Wonderful event from start to finish. LYFE is located in Park Meadows mall right across from Crate & Barrel.
Frances G did an excellent job of welcoming Caity S and me as we were unable to make the yoga portion of the event.
Lyfe is open and airy with big picture windows looking into the mall. There is a patio with seating for nice weather. I really liked the fresh herb boxes as you walk in. They impart a sense of freshness, health and taste even before you’ve ordered.
We were seated and immediately greeted by Michelle who will be running the Boulder Lyfe when it opens up later this year. Michelle was friendly, helpful and positive throughout the meal despite working long days to get LYFE going at Park Meadows.
To the food. All dishes have 600 calories or less and 1000mg of sodium or less. Wow. If I ate this healthy all the time I’d have a slimmer waistline.
We started with vegetables, flatbread and hummus. Veggies included blanched broccoli, edamame beans, radish and were all tasty. Next we tried a bbq chicken flatbread and margharita one. Both tasty and not soggy or burnt.
A corn chowder soup came out in small cups and was full of corn, vegetables and flavor.
For the main entrees we had Art’s unfried chicken. It comes with divine charred Brussel sprouts, butternut squash, craisins and a great sauce. The chicken was cooked perfectly.
They also offered a bowl with quinoa, veggies, a tofu like protein & sweet & spicy sauce. It was way better than I anticipated.
For dessert we had a pomegranate budino with chia seeds soaked in pomegranate covered with chocolate pudding and vegan chocolate chip cookies. Yum yum.
Great event and a restaurant that will do very well for sure. To LYFE!

Wow, my mind was blown. I’d never heard of LYFE prior to this event being set up, but I did review the website prior to arrival and I was excited to attend.
I was all psyched for yoga, but ended up not making it due to other circumstances. However, any event that includes a little workout action before getting your eat on is A-​OK in my book.
I can’t recall what was in the space before LYFE, but LYFE has truly made it their own. It is a beautiful space with lots of openness and light. Lots of seating, with some bar high chairs in one section, booths and patio seating.
Once our group sat at a rounded booth, we were immediately assaulted with food and drink and I mean that in the best way possible. There were water glasses and wine glasses on the table with house red and whites. I love me a pinot and that’s not the typical house wine. I was pretty happy with their house white, a Sauvignon Blanc, that wasn’t oaky, not too dry and had lots of citrus flavor.
We were offered some flatbread pizzas, a bbq chicken and a margherita, as well as a plate of veggies with edamame hummus. The edamame hummus was scrumptious and I enjoyed it with flatbread.
Everything was served up in small portions and the staff was excellent. They were so attentive all night long, but not intrusive.
I was very impressed that the restaurant chose not to use dairy in its sauces and items, which is great for vegans, and still tastes good to those who aren’t vegan. The sweet corn chowder used cashew cream as its thickener instead of cream or milk and boy was it is delicious.
The farmer’s salad with goat cheese, agave-​soaked red onion, arugula and blackberries was just wonderful and I don’t even like arugula (still don’t). Tal’s Grain Bowl was a dish that I didn’t think I would like. It uses Gardein beef strips in a stir-​fry with quinoa, I think. It was actually my favorite dish of the evening. I would eat this again happily, as an omnivore. There were vegans at our table and one of the staff members from Chicago was there last night and she let the vegans know there was another meat substitute or a vegan version since the Gardein product uses egg, which makes it non-​vegan. I really liked that attention to detail, as well as the actual vegan diners, as well.
I was excited for the un-​fried chicken, which was good, but I wasn’t as in love with that as I expected. It was good, but my mind kept floating back to the Grain bowl.
Vegan chocolate chip cookies right from the oven? Yes, please. So good and tasty. I scarfed it down in seconds. Then they brought the chocolate budino, which was a chocolate mousse with pomegranate chia seed pudding. I wasn’t sure what to expect with this vegan dessert, but it also didn’t disappoint.
While I am an omnivore, the man is pescetarian and I can’t wait to take him here. Lots of good, healthy food that is scrumptious. I know he will be excited to try this place too.
LYFE took Elite events to a whole ‘nother level. Great job LYFE staff! The owners and chef came over to check on every table and chat with Elites for feedback. My feedback is everything was wonderful and I can’t wait to go back! Thanks to Frances as well!

Great event! I didn’t know about LYFE until tonight and I’m glad I came.
Favorite dishes from the night: Tal’s Grain Bowl, the flatbreads, and the sweet corn chowder. LYFE sure loves their cashew cream!
I also LOVE that they handed out lunchboxes at the end. Will put mine to good use!
Great venue, great people, great food. The amount of food was just right, so I’m not waddling out of Park Meadows Mall 5lbs heavier. :P

I predict that this place is going to do quite well. The service, the food, the friendly staff, and the location are all excellent.
I was an early arrival for this event, and watched from outside as they reviewed the menu and service with the staff for tonight’s event. As soon as some others showed up, we grabbed table number one. They were quick to bring out wine (a nice Sauvignon Blanc was what I enjoyed) and food followed shortly thereafter. Our server, Mike, along with a couple others, kept everything flowing smoothly to our table throughout the evening.
The Edamame Hummus and Veggies with fresh crunchy vegetables, smoky paprika, golden flax seed crisps was a great way to get things started. After the assorted flatbreads started arriving, we really had to pace ourselves, as they were quite tasty. There was some debate at our table as to whether the Margherita (with fresh mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, basil, pomodoro sauce) or the BBQ Chicken (with grilled chicken, sweet corn, roasted onion, cilantro, BBQ sauce, mozzarella cheese) was the better of the two.
This was followed by the Sweet Corn Chowder (made with sweet corn, peppers, potatoes, and cashew cream), which was warm and delicious. One of my favorite dishes of the evening was the salad that followed. This Farmer’s Market Salad had arugula, frisee, blackberries, pickled onions, spiced pecans, goat cheese, and balsamic vinaigrette. It was packed with flavor. The Tal’s Grain Bowl that came out shortly after (with stir fried veggies, «Gardein beefless tips», quinoa, black rice, cilantro, and sweet chile-​ginger sauce) was a very hearty, healthy, and hella-​good dish.
Art’s Unfried Chicken (with roasted brussels sprouts, butternut squash, dried cranberries, cashew cream, dijon vinaigrette) was one dish I would definitely like to come back again some time and have all to myself. Dessert was an artful Chocolate Budino (with pomegranate chia seeds, toasted almonds) as well as a chocolate chip cookie.
I talked to several of the Lyfe folks and they were uniformly friendly and enthusiastic. I especially enjoyed conversing with D.J. and Zach. This was a great dinner and they treated use really well. Thank you Lyfe, and thank you Frances G. for making this happen.

This was hands down one of the best Unilocal events I’ve been to in the past five years! Anytime there’s an event that pairs up activity plus food + drink it automatically has my heart and this event started off with a nice, little yoga session courtesy of Lululemon so I knew the rest of the night was smooth sailing. The yoga session was perfect, just long enough (30 mins) and strenuous enough for me to feel it in my core the next day but not break a sweat.
After that we filled up the tables and my table turned out to be the only one who wanted to sit outside for some reason. The acoustics in the restaurant were loud since it was pretty packed so outside was completely serene compared to that. The service was on point, our server was actually a manager at their mothership location in Culver City, so she knew the answer to every question we had and was full of info. I loved the family style portions we received starting with the edamame kale then onto the Farmers Market Salad (one of my faves of the evening as goat cheese has my heart) then onto the main entrees like Arts Unfried Chicken and Teds Grain Bowl. I would order either of those on my next visit! I am happy that restaurants that are more health/​whole foods focused are starting to open up (along with printing calories on the menu) and know this place will do amazing once it opens June 5. I can’t wait to come back to LYFE. Thank you LYFE, Lululemon and Unilocal for a fabulous, HEALTHY evening!
