Brinley & Morad Optometry

I have visited Dr. Brinley twice, and I have been veru happy with his advice. The great thing about him is that he continously tells you what he is doing and why, while he is running tests. He goes beyond and above. Strongly recommended. Nice staff.

My only complaint for this place is that someone in the front desk is extremely rude. She makes customers feel stupid and her tone of voice just sends me through the roof. She’s been there for quite some time and I refuse to believe no ones else has complained about her.

I’ve been coming to see them since 2010 and every year is always great service and clear understanding how my vision is doing. A big THANK YOU to all the Doctors and Staff…

They were great. Fast check in, and they explained all details with ease. They give you easy options when it comes to your sights.

I found this place because it was the closest to my house that accepted my insurance. I was so glad I did. Have been able to get appointments in a reasonable amount of time (not like the last place I visited where the wait was usually a month at least). Dr. Brinley is great. He takes the time to explain what is happening what he is finding as goes along. The first pair of glasses I got I had all ready had a frame that I brought in. They happily used that. The second pair, I got there. There was a decent selection of frames. Will continue to go there as long as I live in Long Beach

Dr Brinley is an excellent doctor for hard to fit contact lenses. Thorough, knowledgeable, and very nice.

RUDE… RUDE …RUDE…Just got off the phone with someone at the front desk who was extremely rude, I asked about the HERRLICHT wood frames… and got a rude response… brought a pair of Kazuo Kawasaki frames a couple of years ago and they’re trash now and was offered nothing when I went in to get them fixed… SOME ONE ELSE WILL GET MY BUSINESS FOR SURE NOW…

The doctor was to the point yet he had a kind vibe. He was patient and took the time to explain the mechanism of the eye, what issues you may have, and what one may expect as we age. The young lady helping me select glasses was on top of it asking all the right questions and pulling as many glasses as I liked in attempts of finding the perfect pair. I am very happy with this establishment and really looking fwd to picking up my super cute new pair of Ray Bans.

Just recently, my fiancé and I came in for an annual eye exam. I struggled with finding a new optometrist, since I already had a great one in Orange County. I had to make a change after my insurance was no longer accepted and I moved counties. I reviewed the Unilocal comments for optometrists local to me, and came across Brinley & Morad and decided to give it a shot. The location and parking is convenient. Upon arrival the staff was very friendly and attentive. The facility is super clean and well organized (which is always a plus!) Dr. Brinley was very friendly, and explained exactly what was going on with my vision and provided options available as well as recommendations. I’m excited to have found this place; they were absolutely wonderful to the both of us. My additional penny to toss is in the mix would be that I wish they carried a few different frame brands, namely Salt, however, I am happy with my selection. Highly recommend this place for the needs of your eyeballs.

This review is NOT based on the eye exam part but the picking out frames area. I had an exam performed at Kaiser and brought over my prescription to choose frames through my VSP insurance. The receptionist was polite and very professional she seemed to have it together but the woman helping with frames did not seem to at all. She wasn’t helpful or friendly… not at all! Looked like she wanted to rush us to get to the people after us. My spouse was going to make an appt for contacts but once he noticed she was spacey he decided to go else where. Plus I didn’t see anything I liked… very low selection to choose from, small area. The only reason I gave it two stars is because of the young lady at the front desk, very professional, otherwise I would have given one star.
Will not be going there again. I just wanted frames… easy…and was willing to pay out of pocket for expensive brands.

Dr. Ballard did a thorough and painless job administering my eye exam and tests. He even put contacts on me and I didn’t even realize it at first, thought it was just another test. He’s good, probably would have taken forever if I knew what was next.
Theresa help me in the end picking out new glasses and teaching me how to properly place and remove contacts. She is so patient, stayed after hours to help me and gave a lot of tips and details about contacts. Just an extremely pleasant woman.
Prices were the same that I’ve always paid with insurance. Will definitely continue to go here while living in Long Beach.

UPDATE: Since posting my original review, I received a phone call from Dr Brinley apologizing for any miscommunication and/​or misunderstandings. He offered to undo the charges for Contact Consultation and put it towards my glasses! Very cool! Thumbs up to you doc, very much appreciated. I’ll be in soon to order my glasses. Thank you!!!

It’s been a long time since I’ve been to the eye doctor. This place made it so easy. The front staff was very helpful. Eye exam was easy. Dr. Brinley was very honest and helpful and actually explained why I would be having issues. My eyes are in good shape they just get tired from looking at the computer all day. The ladies there helped me pick out some reading glasses. I was even able to pick up my glasses in the same week. Overall great service.

I found this place through my insurance company, they handled all the services my VSP insurance offered and had great reviews. I scheduled an appointment on an Saturday and was pleased with my wait time. I waited for about 10 minutes while filling out a few forms and was called to the back for pre exam with the doctors assistants. The Dr. was very nice and informative and made me feel very comfortable and answered all my questions and assured me no question I had was stupid.
After the exam I was sent outside to to there what i would call glasses or frame area were i spoke to the same assistant and she went over what I needed and what was covered. We then tried on NUMEROUS pairs of glasses and she helped me find the right size and price for my eyes and budget.
Now down to the money ! They allowed me to leave half of my total as to get the glasses ordered and to get the prescription filled. They advised me it would take a week to a week and a half to receive my glasses! Very well pleased with my experience. I had to write a review because if it wasn’t for prior reviews i would have never chose this location!

Three yearly visits, three pairs of glasses, two years worth of contact lenses, and two point five years later I’m still glad I came here.
Dr. Brinley is a very thorough, patient, and helpful optometrist to say the least. You’ll feel comfortable and a sense of genuine care as he explains everything that is going on in and around your eyes. He will inform you of any potential risks to the health of your eyes and if he finds any other related health issues during the exam, he will disclose them. This is the MOST important factor when seeing an optometrist. Regardless of how the experience is with the staff, you have to feel like your eye care needs are met. And that’s how I feel each time.
As for the staff, they have always been helpful and efficient. I do not wait too long here granted my appointments are kept. They are quite willing to help me find the right pair of glasses and are thorough as they take careful notes of my visit for the next time. Options are laid out when choosing frames and lenses and I feel comfortable to making my decisions. What else can you ask for.
The most recent pair came and it was fitted perfectly. My old pair was also adjusted. I received my glasses, some microfiber clothes, and a bottle of lens cleaner for free! Sweet!
