I’ve been coming to Graceful Teriyaki for a few years, the owner is very friendly. Like others have said the restaurant is fairly small, I typically get takeout since I live close. I like the Steak or Chicken Plate.

Excellent food, friendly service, limited seating but they make up for it with their awesome trays. One of my favorite places to eat, and I’d happily wait an hour plus to eat here. 5 stars all the way! Definitely recommend the salmon plate. Cooked to perfection every time. Sooo good!

This is my first time eating at this place and I must say the cook was very very nice and helpful. I feel like the food is a bit expensive but hopefully that Means the food is good despite the other poor comments. I ordered the Salmon plate w/crunch roll a Whao 24 bucks. Just pkay

Chicken teriyaki skewers tasted like rubber and didn’t even taste/resemble chicken, had one bite and left the rest untouched. Fried rice was just OK. The best part was the salad that came with it. I came for chicken teriyaki not salad. Stay away!

The food is good but the place is a little run down. Could work on curb appeal and overall hygiene… The food was ready a little too fast making me think it’s not very fresh. I really want to like this place because it’s convenient and because i miss teriyaki from Washington state but this definitely is not the place that will do that.

Graceful Teriyaki Grill & Roll. The name got me ever so curious. Back in high school, the word«disgrace» entered my lexicon as I used the word a lot as an adjective to describe nouns that greatly disappointed me(especially proper nouns). When I saw the name of the restaurant, I asked myself if it really was a graceful place or if I should name it «Disgraceful Teriyaki Grill & Roll» instead. Nope. Not disgraceful at all. The food really was that graceful. I came on a Wednesday morning right when it opened at 11AM. As I went in, I was greeted by the manager of the store. Since it was my first time there, it took me a while to peruse their menu, which was posted on a wall next to the front door. The manager asked if it was my first time there, and I said yes. He then told me that on the top of their menu is a brief description of each category of menu items. Ever have that Homer Simpson moment when you’re starting to drool after seeing a box of donuts(which are eventually consumed and devoured by Chief Wiggum)? Yeah… that was my mind as I was reading the menu. After perusing the menu for a couple of minutes, I decided to go for the chicken stick plate. Stick plates at Graceful typically come with a serving of light fried rice, fresh gourmet salad, and crispy vegetable tempura. Keep in mind that on their website, it says the chicken stick plate is $ 6.50, but it is actually $ 8.25. The website isn’t quite up to date, so don’t assume the prices on the website are true because they are likely going to be higher than what their website says. As I was waiting for my plate, I sat down on a high chair close to the TV and listened to some jazzy saxophone music. The music seemed eerily similar to the songs I typically listen to on the radio. I even found myself singing along(in my head, of course) to the saxophone. Several songs were played during my 15 minutes of waiting for my food. The only employee I saw there was the manager himself. He was cooking my meal and trying to take orders from the customers who entered after I did. I thought to myself, «Man doesn’t he have anybody else to help?» I feel like I could have gotten my food in 10 minutes tops if he had a chef who started cooking my food the moment I had ordered it. When my food was ready, he put my food in a take-out box, added a cup of some sauce(which I assume was for the tempura), and put it all in a plastic bag. My mind muttered, «Well it’s about time.» I was kind of ticked that it took so long for my food to be ready, but while I was eating my food, I told myself, «Man this is divine! I guess it really is worth the wait!» I cook fried rice every now and then, but my own fried rice is nowhere remotely close to as good-tasting as Graceful’s fried rice. Then again, maybe it’s because I’m not as great a cook? Anyways there was a good amount of fried rice in my meal that I felt satisfied and satiated. It was kind of difficult to eat it with a fork, however, so I probably should have asked for a spoon before I left the restaurant. Graceful: A great place to spend a lunch break… if it’s longer than 30 minutes that is.

I really wanted to like this place. Let me start off by saying that the service here was impeccable. The gentleman who helped me out and cooked my lunch was so pleasant that I hate that I’m leaving such a low score. He was very kind and attentive, and since it was my first time there he was kind enough to help me out with the menu. The service here is so good! I had high hopes! The place is very small. I sat at the bar to eat my lunch, which was fine with me. I ordered the chicken teriyaki bowl with no vegetables. It costs extra to have the bowl without vegetables, which struck me as strange because I’m getting less food, so shouldn’t it be cheaper? No matter. I still wanted to try it. He brought me my food a few minutes later. The chicken is chopped into very small pieces. I asked for extra teriyaki sauce because I don’t like dry rice(unless it’s basmati). The texture of the chicken is what put me off the most. I pride myself in my abilities in the kitchen, and I have never once achieved chicken with this kind of texture. It was very slimy and I found it difficult to eat. The teriyaki sauce is not sweet like I was expecting, and I prefer sweet teriyaki sauce. The bowl did not remind me of any teriyaki bowl I’ve ever had before. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to finish it. Perhaps the other dishes on the menu are very good, but I doubt I will be back here after the food I had today. I was really disappointed. I will think about coming back and trying something else, but it won’t be for a while.

«2 spicy chicken bowls with fried rice please!» This is my go to order about once a week. I swear the chef already know me just by my phone order! I’ve been coming here for about 2.5 yrs now and the chef is super friendly and an amazing cook! Love the food! The side salad is addictive! But oh man those spicy chicken bowls are the best. I honestly never eat chicken bowls from any other place. :)

Cheap college food at its worst. The teriyaki beef kinda reminded me of dog food. Eek! The guy was nice though. Note: extra charge for no veggies. Skip this place!

This place is awesome. Everything cooked fresh and if you come in at 4 pm, yes like having a personal chef. The beef here is as expected always tender and cooked to perfection. Unilocal really likes us to write really really really long reviews. And so I’ll say it again this place is like having a Korean dad cook for you. Seriously, and you should come and support this guy is hard working. I work at a restaurant so I know the kind of heart and work that takes place in a small restaurant. The location is a bit hard to find but hey stop in for a bite or two

Been here twice for lunch. Nice and clean. The owner is very nice. I ordered the chicken bowl and for the price it is not bad. my only complaint is that the chicken is salty. The first time i went i thought it was a fluke however my food was salty on both occasions. i def will be back to try something new on the menu

Had the Teriyaki Chicken and Teriyaki Beef plate for $ 9.00. Comes with large mixed green salad, 4 pieces of vegetable tempura with dipping sauce, and the chopped teriyaki beef and chicken on a bed of white rice. Decent price for what you get. It is a one man operation so be patient. Small seating area with 24-person tables, 22-person tables and bar seating for 6 more.

Only had the CA roll and it was okay. But what’s up with their wasabi… weakest I’ve ever had even a child could have eaten that. The place was very warm so I don’t recommend on a hot summer day.

Nice location. Noticed owner went to cordon blue school. Wish he used what he learned on some of his dishes. Nothing interesting just plan Japanese food good flavor but he does give you a lot for your money.

Ok, I popped into this place for lunch this afternoon. My lunch group and I were looking for a new place. First things first, if you are looking for atmosphere, you will not find it here. The name is a bit of misnomer because there really is nothing«graceful» about the restaurant. If you are looking for a place to linger over lunch, this is probably not the place. I think they only have seating for about 8 — 12 people, if that. The place is tiny and pretty cramped. Drop one star for that. Small space, I understand… failing to maximize, I do not understand. My lunch buddy and I each ordered a beef and chicken plate; came with rice, teriyaki beef and chicken, 3 pieces of tempura veggies and a small salad. We also ordered a «Mexico City Roll» to share. We each had water to drink. The roll was ok. Nothing to write home about but certainly passable. The teriyaki was good. I got the spicy version, my friend, the non-spicy version. Both of us were satisfied with the meal. These were very filling, sizeable portions, so make sure you are really hungry or opt for a bowl instead. Another odd thing, they have no restroom. They have a sign that says, «no public restroom»…and this applies to paying customers. Frankly, I took a star off the rating for that fact alone. I think a restroom is the least paying customers in a sit down restaurant should be offered. Final note: not sure this is the case all the time, but there was a single person working at the place, very likely, the owner. He was very kind, but clearly overwhelmed. While he was preparing our food, 3 other patrons came in and he had to stop and tend to them. We weren’t upset as this appears to be a new business, but it would be useful to get another person to handle the register during busy times while the owner is tending to the grill. I took another star off for this.

Really cramped! Only four tables and limited parking in a shady-looking alley. Appearances aside, the food is really overpriced, but pretty tasty. I got the special eel roll, which cost $ 10…a bit steep in my opinion, considering they used crab meat from the grocery store, some avocado, and eel sauce with a few pieces of eel. Nonetheless, I think I would get it again if I was really hungry! Their plates and bowls looked pretty good and were a bit more reasonably priced. Bowls are around $ 5 and plates are around $ 8 – 10. The owner is a bit pushy and loud, which is kinda too aggressive for my taste.

I have to admit, it was the name that drew me in. After passing by this place a few times I just had to try. The sign out front claims they use canola oil, no MSG, no trans fat, and they use angus beef. The combo plates have alot of food. Two grilled meats, rice, salad, and tempura veggies. I ordered the steak and shrimp stick plate. The steak was really tender. The shrimp was grilled just right. And the salad was refreshing. I wish I could take the dressing home. But the tempura was my highlite. It was battered and fried perfectly, not greasy at all, and oh so crispy. Now the miso soup on the other hand was not up to par. It seemed a little watery. This place is super small inside. Walk in and you’ll see the giant menu. Order your meal sit down at one of the three tables or at the counter. The service is friendly. he’s like a buddy you haven’t seen in a while. So for healthy food and great service this is a place for you.
