I only like their chicken I’ve tried their«beef» it’s usually dried out and doesn’t even look that apealling their chicken on the other hand is superb

The food is gross and the price is a rip-off. I paid 8 dollars for a chicken/beef veggie bowl. There was about a tablespoon of disgusting, shredded, overdone«beef» dripping with sauce and a tiny bit of decent chicken over a handful of broccoli and carrots all sitting on a mound of barely cooked cabbage. I basically paid 8 dollars for a mound of cabbage with dog food on top. Avoid this place. I forgot to mention that there were flies circling this place and there were dead flies in the windowsill where I was sitting.

Pros: healthy, delicious, good service Cons: dinky location Recommendations: Chicken Plate, Oriental Salad This place is soooo good. The fact that this is one of the very few places in Long Beach that hasn’t given me food poisoning just shows how awesome this place is. First off, it has a really small parking lot. Could probably fit 6 cars max, which is strange cause their dining area has a maximum capacity of 40+. You can always park in this little plaza next to it. The plaza is sketchy so keep all valuables out of sight or you’ll get stabbed(not kidding). Once you walk in you can already smell the chicken. Protein anyone? YEEES! This place is so much better than Flame Broiler. I think Flame Broiler uses fake chicken from China. I have ordered pretty much everything here. I believe this is a Franchise cause I’ve ate at other Waba/JK Grills all across OC. I’d say this place is a tie with Fuji Grill, which is also freakin delicious! I would recommend any of the bowls if you just want a good size lunch. Opt for the plates if you’re starving. I usually am, so the small salad and sliced orange is perfect. But what I love here is their Chicken Salad with oriental(so racist) salad. If you want protein but with little to no carbs this is the perfect meal. Just go easy with the dressing. They also include huge teryaki and hot sauce packets(cup sized containers – which isn’t very environmentally friendly but whatevs) so they aren’t stingy like some places. This was probably a long review for just some decent grub but I come here every week, consistently for the past 2 years. My life is so not exciting…

Needed a place to grab some protein and carbs(lol, that’s how I look at food for the most part) for one of my meals before I went to work. Being in the off season, I have a little more liberty at what I eat so I landed on this teryaki spot. Steak bowl: It’s exactly what it sounds like. Steamed rice and chopped up steak with green onions on top. It was ok, what can really be said… it was $ 6 and it gave me some flavor but more importantly my macro-nutrients. If I ever need a meal for work again, I wouldn’t mind stopping by and giving it another shot but maybe see what their chicken taste like.

most of the time i go a lil further on the north side for this type of food, so instead of driving a little more we tried this place since the menu was basically the same, but we should have gone the extra mile! My wife and i got the chicken and beef combo, the chicken wasnt that bad but the beef was old as hell!!! no way will i ever go back!

Pretty good!!! Not on the best corner, but definitely worth the trip. I ordered the half and half bowl tonight and the chicken was great. I can’t say the same about the beef. It was either cooked hours ago or over grilled and the teriyaki sauce was over kill. I did enjoy the fish plate options. Red snapper was great-seasoned and fried well! I’ll return for the snapper and sole plate.

The food here is pretty good, the half chicken breast half steak bowl is my favorite. Parking does suck during peak hours but there’s a larger lot right next to it. My biggest complaint is the customer service, partially the owners. While living in long beach my husband and I would eat here all the time sometimes 3 times a week especially when I was low carbing it, I would get chicken veggie bowls that were decent. So these people(the owners and the girls in the front) would see us all the time and not even say hi or crack a smile. To be fair the wife wasn’t too bad but literally everytime we walked in there the husband would mean mug and watch us while we get teriyaki and hot sauce, like we were stealing from him or something! The only reason I continued to go back was because of lack of healthy choices in the surrounding area, but that’s not the best way to run a business. Im really not picky and usually don’t care about stuff like that but my husband and I are loyal consumers to the places we frequent and Ive never experienced such a lack of consumer service. But again the food is decent so if u don’t care about feeling like your a criminal when all u want is some teriyaki sauce go for it! Lol

Decent for the area. I liken this place to Flame Broiler. White rice topped with teriyaki or beef or both, and green onions if you want. Price is a bit high for what it is, but if you’re tired of the fast food in the area, this is an option.

Not a bad place to stop by for a teriyaki chicken or beef bowl! Prices are moderate and the food is pretty good. It’s pretty clean inside even though it doesn’t look like it from the outside. The problem is the parking. There’s only a few spots and it is a tight squeeze to get into the lot itself. You’d have more luck getting into the lot next to it and making it a quick stop. I’ve come by a few times and enjoyed their teriyaki chicken bowl. It’s pretty good quality chicken and done right. It’s not dry, burnt, or fake tasting, like many other fast food esque places. There’s also a bottle of Sriracha on every table for convenience and a huge bottle of extra teriyaki sauce by the counter(I always need a little extra for my rice). The green onions that they put over the meat is always very fresh and crunchy. Again, nothing spectacular, but a pretty decent local place to pick up some quick chicken bowls at a moderate price! It’s pretty cheap if you can find coupons!(I’ve no idea where to get them anymore).

Been here a few times down here in downtown LBC. I go here when I can’t make up my mind what to eat down here. Always got the beef(would not recommend) and chicken combo from this place. It’s located in a less desirable neighborhood to begin with, but the inside of the place is clean with big screen TVs. Nothing to drive to unless you’re in the area. Parking is a pain if you can find any spots available. Again, I would take a pass if you’re not in the area. Go elsewhere.

Ordered the chicken and beef plate. Chicken was alright, sorta tender, sorta tasty. The beef was really good. Perfectly tender and super tasty. Both served side by side over a decent amount of rice. Came with a tiny salad that needed more dressing and a half of an orange which i enjoyed. I have a couple of complaints that knocked out the 4th star. First, there was not enough teriyaki sauce on the food and there was no extra sauce placed in the to go bag. Booooo ! ! ! Ya just don’t skimp on teriyaki sauce at a teriyaki joint, come on now… Second, the plate was $ 8 bucks(no drink included) not really worth $ 8. Third, it came with the worst spork of all times and a napkin that you couldn’t blow your nose with. Bad form, bad karma. What if I got caught in an unexpected snow storm on Long Beach Bl and Pch and actually had to use this crap to eat with? ?? Fourth, the gal behind the counter gave me a constipated look when I walked in. Would I go back? only if i got caught in an unexpected snow storm in the middle of their tiny parking lot and a gust of wind blew me right into the front door.

The food here was OK. I got the combination chicken and beef plate. Its the same thing as every other teriyaki plate I get in this town: meat, rice, teriyaki sauce, green onions on top. The chicken was handled better than the beef. The rice and salad was passable. The portions were good. Decent sized interior. Small parking lot, but as others have noted there’s more parking in the lot adjacent.

Good, inexpensive teriyaki bowl. It’s hard to go wrong at a place like this. The food is great, service is what it should be. I’ve been three times in the last couple weeks, and its consistantly good. Forget the old reviews on this place. Clearly they are under new management. The is one of my new regular lunch spots. Definitely worth looking at. Oh yeah… the parking lot is small, but there is another much larger one right next to it. Enjoy!

Great chicken bowl. The teryaki sauce is flavorful and thick, the way it should be! Very clean inside and the prices and potions are tough to beat. I give this place a solid 4 bangers!

What’s the point in writing this review becuz the place is shutting down. I was one of the last customers there. Too bad. I was a frequent customer there. The teriyaki steak, chicken and short ribs were very good for a fast food establishment. Where they went wrong was by adding a greasy spoon portion to the menu with burgers, fries and Mexican food. Also, their location is terrible. It’s a poor neighborhood that did not appeal to the kind of food they were offering. This place would thrive in a mall.

Don’t know if the other reviewer is fake, but I did not like the JK Grill, either. I had gotten a flyer in my door and the food looked good, so I thought I’d try some. When I walked in, I thought that the spicy chicken looked good. They were out of spicy chicken. Fail#1 Ok, so I peruse the overhead menu and grab a paper menu and even though I love cheeseburgers, I wasn’t feeling good about getting one here. I settled for a salmon roll. Yes, the JK Grill has a few rolls, along with rice bowls and burgers. I asked for extra wasabi. The clerk did not know what I was talking about. Fail #2 If you serve rolls, you should know what wasabi is. I should not have a customer shout…“Yeah, they do. She’s new.” Was the salmon roll decent at least? Can’t say, I do not profess to be sushi expert. After I got home, I disected the salmon roll to a more palatable creation. I took the salmon slivers and tossed them on the kitchen grill with some olive oil and topped it on a fresh salad. I took the crabmeat and avocado and topped it on a halved avocado and drizzled it with sesame oil. Yum to both.(I threw out the white rice after Daisy turned her nose to it) But, apparently there were some regulars that come here. Unfortunately, I won’t be one of them.
