The 2 to 3 times I’ve been here, I had their Phnom Penh noodles. The broth was hot and savory, with the soft rice noodles and the seafood and meat, it was such a hearty bowl in the cold weather! However, I’m not really a fan of the cooked liver in the bowl. It’s probably good for the broth flavor but the texture is what I like to avoid. Their jaa gwai(deep fried dough stick) came out fresh, hot and crispy! It went very well with the soup broth. The restaurant is on the small side, fitting maybe 30 – 40 people I’d say, hence the name«little»? The servers were very friendly every time I was there, smiling and talking to customers. They all spoke Cambodian which I don’t understand. I suppose this place is pretty authentic because Cambodians come here often!

This is a small, cozy little restaurant tucked into an equally small strip mall. There are about a handful of tables with one wall that has a long bench seating for larger groups. During our lunchtime visit, there were 2 servers. Since I was still a bit jetlaged and under the weather, I ordered their chicken congee, my lunchmate ordered their beef loc lac with fried rice and we split an appetizer order of the fried cruellers. I admit, if my stomach had been in better shape I would have ordered the loc lac in a heart beat! It just looked delicious. The portions are very generous, the meat was marinated well and atop of all that was a perfectly fried egg(with the yolk still runny of course!). The best way to eat this dish is to cut small portions of the egg whites, then cut into the yolk and let that just glaze over the rest of the ingredients. My porridge was good and flavorful, although I would have liked a bit more fried garlic but that is just MPO. At first glance, I felt a bit jipped at the portion, but it really is a big bowl and I couldn’t finish it all. The cruellers were also good and fresh, there are 2 pieces in an order. There were plenty of usuals here, as the servers knew them by name. Our server was pretty nice and friendly, she acted like the typical asian aunt but wasnt pushy with the food either. A pretty nice place for some good Cambodian food.

I never Unilocal anything and I’m only on here to find good places to eat. But Little La Lune is a must-go-to spot if you’re near the Long Beach area. I am a regular here and it is the best Cambodian spot in town, hands down! Everything on their menu is delicious, authentic and greatly priced.

There are a ton of Cambodian food offerings in the LBC but this is my go to place. Quality is always good and consistent.

Every time I mean every single time I order pick up from here its ALWAYS wrong or missing an item. Then when you tell them they screwed up you have to wait 20 minutes for mistake to be corrected. Hence negating the reason for ordering pick up. I honestly can’t stand it when my wife make go here for her it’s always a gigantic ordeal. The food isn’t really that good either pretty bland

First off, in my experience, the service is awful. I’ve given this place three chances only because I like noodles. The staff is extremely rude. One of the ladies has rolled her eyes on so many accounts. Now I’m not a rude person. I’d have to say I’m a pleasant costumer. I never yell or give attitudes. So to receive one is just not something to expect. Secondly, she gets my order wrong after I repeated it twice especially since I have an allergy. She brings the food out and when I say sorry I can’t take this, she gets upset and says«YOUDIDNTSAYNOONIONSORPEANUTS» I politely say yes I did, twice! So she brings out another plate much later. My party is almost done with their meal. Finally I get my noodles. To my dismay, there’s a long hair!!! So I flag them down, and they got mad !! «Ugh another waste of noodles!!» This was the last straw.

I found Little La Lune on Unilocal when searching for Thai food in Long Beach a couple of days ago. I was a little skeptical to try it out as it showed up as Thai, Cambodian and I was not familiar with Cambodian food, but I decided to try it anyway as it had pretty good ratings. Little La Lune is located in a small strip with hardly any parking and at the peak lunch hour I had to park in the side street just ahead of the strip mall and walk back. Upon entering I saw that they were about 60% full while the remaining tables had not been cleared yet. I decided to get something to-go and selected beef lok lak($ 5.95) as I had not seen this dish before at other Thai places. I also got the fried rice upgrade for $ 1. The lady behind the counter that helped me could be a little more friendly but I’ll let that pass. The restaurant does not have any chairs to wait for to-go orders so I had to sit at one of the dirty tables for what seemed like an eternity but was just a touch over 15 minutes. Anyway the taste of the dish made all the hassle worth it. The beef was very well cooked. I was expecting it to be chewy but it was almost melt in your mouth tender. Literally one of the best cooked beef that I’ve had. They also give you a small box with some course ground spices that I mixed in with the meat and rice which seemed to elevate the taste of this dish even further. The fried rice by itself was also decent. It was definitely the wok tossed variety, yet it managed to remain non-greasy. The overall portion size looked small but it was a decent sized lunch portion that managed to fill me up. Price-wise it was really cheap and I was able to pay by card which was another plus. Overall I was very satisfied with what I ate and if I’m in the area I would definitely stop by to try some more stuff off their menu.

Came here on a tuesday afternoon and got seated right away. The plaza where this restaurant is situated is kinda iffy but it feels different once you’re inside. I loved the cambodian or thai decorations that they have as well as the music in the background. The service was great! The lady was really helpful and patient with my indecisive butt lol Now the food. DELICOUS. Honestly, the only reason why i came here was for the doughnuts. I wasn’t really expecting a lot about the food but i was very satisfied with the thai boat! yumm! The doughnuts were also freshly made which is a plus. The thai tea was okay. My boyfriend didn’t really like it but for me it was worth the price. I mean $ 1.95 for thai tea is not bad at all.

I asked my sister what Long Beach is known for and she said Cambodian food. Cambodian food for lunch it was! We Unilocaled a place and ended up here. Super small parking lot, but there’s street parking around. Luckily, they have enough seating for our group of 10 and they we’re pretty friendly in accommodating everything that we wanted. I got the Phnom Penh which is a noodle soup similar to phở. The broth(which I think is usually the best part) was really light in flavor and the noodles were just okay. The meat was okay as well. I think the rice dishes are better. They have a lot more flavor. Overall, it was just okay.

I like the interesting combination of Cambodian and Thai. I got the Thai noodles(dry) with the soup on the side. It was perfect since I eat really slow and the noodles won’t get soggy. The soup came with a bone with just a little bit of meat left on it. The noodles were like flat phở noodles sauteed in a little bit of fish sauce and came with pieces of meat, meatballs, garlic, cilantro, and some veggies. I can’t really describe the soup, but I guess it was a mix of Thai and Cambodian. I added chili and peppers so it would be spicier and it gave a nice kick. Everything was really flavorful which is what I really look for in a dish.

Had a terrific lunch here yesterday with a big group of friends. I ordered the iced coffee(sweet, creamy, and fantastic) and the beef lok lak. It wasn’t the best I’ve ever had, but it was really good. The side of fried rice was delicious. I saw that they had pineapple fried rice on the menu, so I asked the waitress to add pineapple to my side order. The meal also came with a pole of broth that was really tasty. We ordered some of the breadsticks for the table, and they were especially wonderful dipped in the broth. Everyone seemed to be equally happy with their meals. Service was great, and prices were low. I think my entire meal came to $ 11, including the iced coffee. There’s a parking lot in the plaza and also street parking on the side streets. We were there at noon on a Sunday, so it was crowded, but we managed to find space.

Can’t believe I haven’t tried out this place sooner! The Phnom Penh noodles were amazing and the broth was so flavorful. I could drink it all day. We arrived at 12:30 on Sunday and, though it was pretty busy, we still found a table. The prices are very affordable, and I can’t wait to come back and try out more Cambodian dishes!

Service is always good here & I usually come here for their babaw(rice porridge) or beef lok all(steak on a bed of veggies with soup & sauce). Their bread(can’t spell it) here is so good & freshly made & usually good to eat with the rice porridge. The wait for to-go usually takes a lot longer than eating there so I would recommend ordering by phone if you’re in a rush.

I’m having a crisis of conscience writing this review. I wanted to like the place so badly, and THEY wanted me to like the place so badly — our waitress was so attentive and helpful — but I just… didn’t. They pad thai with tofu was barely warm, very gummy-noodled, and the tofu tasted just like the oil they fry their char kwai(donuts) in, maybe because it is, maybe because the whole restaurant has a tinge of it, and okay, I know, let’s not judge a Cambodian place on its pad thai. I wasn’t the one who ordered it. But I tried it, and I have to mention it. My order was the egg omelette with fish and ground pork. It came out huge, pooling with oil, with a nice sprig of greenery in the middle, smelling wonderfully like strong fish, and tasted like… egg. Just egg. Oddly enough, when I brought it home and stir-fried it again myself with some green beans and eggplants, the fish sauce flavor came out all over the place. I really enjoyed it doctored! If they sold this fish patty in the grocery store I would totally use it for home stir fries. But it doesn’t taste like anything in the restaurant. My other problem was the smoothie — powdered, artificial flavor with whipped cream. One of the most wonderful things about southeast Asia is finding little fruit smoothie stands on every corner as you walk the cities drenched in sweat. There, the ingredients are: fresh fruit, sweetened condensed milk, ice, and sugar. Sure, they’re too sweet, but they’re refreshing and retain the true essence of the fruit. Artificial powder is a bastardization of these treats. I might come back to try their beef lok lak or Phnom Penh noodles, since pretty much everyone in the restaurant was having one of those two dishes. I’m willing to have my mind changed.

Tasty cambodian food. Portions just right. Located in a small venue. Service is average. I enjoy their effort in presentation. And love getting the Hainan chicken. :-)

I came here while I was in town to try some authentic Cambodian Cuisine and also it was highly recommended. The outside of the place within the ratty shopping center looks shady but the inside is clean, modern and attractive. If you see a lot of people walking by the windows, it’s because the bus stop is only about 50 feet away. There was Cambodian music playing in the background for most of the time I was there around lunchtime. Before your meal, the waitress will bring out a bowl of beef bone soup. The broth is just delicious. For the food, I ordered the beef anchovies salad, and when it came out the steak was cooked medium well for the most part. I wish they would have cooked it less. I didn’t care for the olives in the dish, and I didnt even know this was part of Cambodian cooking anyway. I also ordered the water spinach with garlic and this was pretty good.

LUNCHFROMCAMBODIANHEAVEN Ever since we experienced the«Thai Boat Noodle» soup at Mekong Bistro in Portland, Oregon, we had Little La Lune bookmarked for a visit in Cambodia Town, Long Beach, California. The visit to say the least was phenomenal ! Yu-go had to try the chitterlings with fried rice and pickled vegetables… «out of this world» scrumptious. And the soup to dip the fried rice… yummilicious. Chinese donuts… ordered by every table. We normally eat them with congee. Shared a large bowl of Thai Noodle which triggered fond memores of Mekong Bistro. Squeezed some fresh lime wedges onto the rice noodle and the flavor just exploded in our mouth. Lunch for less than $ 20 to boot… this lunch may be our best yet for 2014!

So, today my coworker wanted to go to lunch here because she wanted their half chicken lunch special(fried chicken with either steam rice of fried rice and a side of soup). Now, i been here a couple of time and only tried their Thai boat noodle and Beef Lok Lak. Both dish were okay. I went through their menu to try something different. I came across Hainan Chicken and decided i would order that because the picture look enticing. I looked through Unilocal to see if anyone posted any other picture but didn’t see any. I got my order and now I knew why no one order it or posted anything up about it. I was disappointed. The platting was nice but the chicken was super dry and the skin was just soggy. There were hardly any chicken meat, mostly just soggy skin and bone. Not only that, but the portion size of the chicken was five or six ITTYBITTY pieces with a lot of ginger on top of it. I posted a pic of it, but guys save yourself the trouble and order something else. its just not worth the 8 bucks. Other then that, service was good. The waitress was nice.

Great Khmer/thai food, but for more of a taste check out La Lune Palace. This place us the smaller version with a more compact menu and just as good flavour. The beef stick is tender and juicy. The ja-kwai was fresh and hot to the touch. I also has the lok cha one if my all time favorites as a kid. Theirs was just as good in their own way. Everything was fresh and tasty, none if the flavoring was missed. They were a bit busy when I came so the cooking took a bit long but, its a small place trying to cook lots of food. Khmer food reins supreme here and its a good place locals go to. If your a traveller and desire Khmer food definitely stop by.
