Dial 7 Car & Limo Service

I was really hesitant to use his car service because of all the bad reviews and I needed to be picked up at 3:15am to get to the airport. Reading all the horror stories I was up all night searching for alternatives
BUT BUT BUT
It was great. He arrived at 3:05, 10 minutes before put our luggage in the car and it was a nice Lincoln cross over truck and it didn’t smell bad or wasn’t dirty it was the complete opposite. Also drove very carefully.
40 dollars for a 20 minute drive not that bad.
The only thing I will say is that when I asked for the total at the end he said «40 plus my tip»
I was going to tip anyway but I found it displeasing, but oh well I always tip someone who’s doing me a service.

The good: Driver was nice, car was clean, driver made all attempts to circumvent traffic on a busy morning to get me to the city as quick as possible.
The bad: Had to wait almost 20 minutes at JFK for the car. I waited until I had my luggage to request the car — took about a minute for a driver to accept the call, but then found out he was coming from close to Valley Stream! I canceled this call (thinking there had to be a closer driver) and re-​requested another car, but the same one was assigned. I’n assuming it was because this was the closest «luxury» car available. Which brings me to my next point:
The car type. I spent the extra $ 5 to request a «luxury» car. While I’m NOT expecting a Mercedes or Bentley I was expecting something a little nicer than a Toyota SUV. Normally the car assigned is a Town Car or a Chrysler 300 so not sure what Dial7 considers a luxury car… It would be nice for them to give you a list of their pool of luxury cars before booking. I probably would have just foregone the extra $ 5 and booked a normal car (where the wait was much shorter) had I known. First world problems, I know…
Price: Not terrible from JFK. Driver automatically included my tip (first time I’ve seen that from Dial7) but it was the about the same that I would have tipped him. I would still like the option of leaving my own tip Vs the driver automatically adding it (seeing as how it is a tip).

BE AWARE — ALERT –The car showed up promptly after we got our luggage at jfk so I give them that. Though we had them take the bridge because we were traveling all day and wanted to get home. Half asleep we payed and I check the bill today and though the driver used the EZpass which should cost $ 5.53. The car charged me $ 8.00 for toll even though he used ezpass. The company said they are independent and cars can charge what they want. Be aware of this scam and overcharge. Just think how much money they make on people who don’t notice. They are looking into and said they may refund me the difference but we shall see. For now on I will take the free route no matter how much longer it is for driver.

Absolutely terrible service. I booked the pickup time for 9pm and the driver decided by his own volition to turn up at 7.30pm and charge me the additional fee. I paid an extortionate amount of money for a 30 minute ride and was told by the driver that I would receive a refund if I contacted customer services and explained what happened. I contacted customer services then some woman called Lashawn (whom I now despise without ever having met) informed me that although I booked for 9pm and she had the records to demonstrate it, that didn’t matter and essentially I was shit out of luck. Do not use this company, just use the transit bus which won’t screw you.

Our office ordered 3 cars to take us to an awards ceremony. Two cars showed up, we had to call and make sure we wouldn’t be charged for the third. The cars were not nice at all, a bit untidy inside and the drivers looked like they just rolled out of bed. We were very unsatisfied with the service and cars we received for the price we paid. We should have done our first choice UBER…

HORRIBLE!!! Pretty much Dan O (please see review a couple below) and I had the same experience. They confirm your reservation and then a car never comes! 35 min I waited after being told it was on the way and would arrive in 15 min. Customer service could care less as I didn’t get so much as an apology. She just said «They ran out of cars». Are you kidding me?! That is completely unacceptable. They are just as bad as Carmel Car service. I will keep searching until I find a decent one that can actually deliver. Disgusted and will never use again. Thanks a lot for leaving me stranded!!!

I was so glad I decided to call them. I was traveling to NY with my son and didn’t want to take a cab.
The car was clean and the driver smelled clean. Very polite and the fees were exactly what I was quoted.
I would use them again.

Wonderful car service. Drivers were there right on time and their cars were extremely clean. I booked thru the website but then downloaded the app which was very convenient. I flew into LaGuardia and had to get to Syosset (Long Island). I was provided a quote online and that was what I was charged (plus tax and tolls) so there were no surprises. Also — very reasonably priced for the drive. Other places quoted me twice as much.

Fast. Courteous. Reasonable. Reliable. What’s not to love. $ 98 from JFK to my house in Smithtown. Their app works great. Basically made the reservation via their app while boarding the plane in Punta Cana. Hit the button when we had our bags at JFK. The driver called while we were leaving the terminal that he was waiting. 45 minutes later I’m walking in my house. The car was clean and the ride was relaxing. And it’s not Über where you don’t know what psycho is driving with no insurance. No credit card info was shared with Dial7 via their app. The driver swiped my card when he pulled into my driveway. Business is TLC registered so driver is checkout and legit. I will definitely use them again.

First they quoted me $ 52 to go from Manhattan to JFK.
Then we changed our schedule to leave 30 minutes earlier so we called to change our pick up time to 30 min. earlier. They said it would be the same price.
Then on the day of the trip, the driver was 35 min. late. When he got there he told us the price was $ 62 since we had scheduled a pick up for 3:30pm instead of 4:00pm. So the 3:30pm price is «rush hour» and costs $ 10 more. BUT the driver didn’t get there until 4:05pm! So they wanted to charge is for a 3:30pm pick up even though they didn’t arrive until 4:05pm.
The driver forced us to pay $ 62 plus toll and tip or we wouldn’t get to the airport.
Whatever you do, use another car service. Dial 7 will be late and try to extort extra money from you.

I was in NYC needed reliable service to sirport JFK used Dial 7 and driver was there early for 4:30 am pickup and fast safe ride to airport. It was perfect

The customer service at this company is atrocious.
I booked a car service, the fare shown on the confirmation email was wrong, the manager corrected the fare, and resent me the confirmation email. However, the confirmation email they resent still showed the higher fare. I called them to try to get the right info sent to me before getting into this car because I wanted to have a hard copy to show the driver in case the driver also had the wrong info. I was hung up on by 3 different reps after each one would put me on hold for at least 5 minutes.
Then the 6^th time I called (after being told they would fax it to me instead, then no fax was received, and after being hung up on repeatedly) they transferred me to the dispatcher who was extremely rude, condescending, and kept on speaking over me not letting me talk. She kept on suggesting that I was lying about the lower fair even after I gave her the names of the reps that confirmed the earlier mistakes and the correct fare amount.
I would never ever book car service with this company again given how rude and unhelpful they are and how they expect customers to get into cars without being given the proof or confirmation of right info.

Wish I’d checked Unilocal before reserving a car with these guys. Paid extra for a luxury vehicle as we were 3 with luggage traveling to JFK. Car arrived almost 15 minutes early — better early than late I suppose. The car was a very tired Lincoln Town Car — I’d say 12+ years old — very worn, no shocks what so ever and a driver who had two driving positions — balls to the wall and screeching stop. 80.00 from the UES to JFK, no extra charge for the whiplash.

I visit my son in NYC 2 – 3 times a year (from
LA) for the last 10 years. I have used Dial 7 for several years for my ride to JFK. I have been consistently pleased with their communication, their prompt pick up, and the friendliness and helpfulness of their drivers. I would not consider any other service!

Update — I’m adding a star because customer service took the time to research the issue and let me know what the chain of events was that led to this happening. Hopefully they get it resolved so no one else is impacted like this.
I had a car reserved 2 MONTHS in advance to take me from Manhattan to LGA at 8:30. I received a call at 8:32 that the driver was 10 minutes delayed. Ok, no big deal, thanks for calling to let me know. 20 minutes goes by, I call back, explain the situation, got put on hold, then hung up on, then received an email that the car had been cancelled. That’s not what I wanted, I just needed an eta. But instead of dealing with me honestly they simply cancelled my ride. Taxi stand line was insane, so called über to see which one showed up first. By the time the taxi had me to lga it was too late to catch the flight.
Steer clear of this company. I had used them in the past without issue, but obviously based on this experience and other reviews they are going downhill quickly. I will be looking for a more reliable company in the future.

Go ahead and book a car with Dial 7… if you want to be left stranded. Just booked with them tonight, was told the driver would arrive in 15 minutes and received a confirmation email. After waiting 30 minutes I called to check where the driver was. After a hold of 10+ minutes I was informed — completely matter of factly — that they had run out of cars for the night and that no one would be coming to get me.
A circuitous and insanely frustrating conversation henceforth ensued:
Me: «But you sent me a confirmation email.»
Operator: «We confirmed with you before we ran out of cars.»
Me: «So there is a car for me then?»
Operator: «No, we are out of cars.»
Me: «But you you just said you sent me the confirmation before you ran out of cars so logically that would mean you had a car when I confirmed.»
Operator: «Yes»
Me: «So I have a car?»
Operator: «No»
Me: «Why would you not call me right after to tell me?»
Operator: «Don’t know. Someone should have called you.»
Me: «They didn’t»
Operator: «Ok.»
*Cue head explosion
Trust the reviews — this company is TERRIBLE. Only use them if you have some sort of masochistic desire to get dangerously high blood pressure and intense rage followed by the very real desire to throttle someone but not actually be able to do anything about it… other than join the long list of other dissatisfied Unilocal reviewers as the company obviously does not give a shit about its customers.
If I could, I’d give them negative stars.

I just got back from a five day trip to New York. These guys were not only half the price of the service my family had originally chosen, but they were awesome. I used them six times (my wife and I back and forth to the airport, kids back and forth to the airport, mother in law from Brooklyn to Long Island and back to Brooklyn) and they showed up on time every time. There were no hidden fees. I was able to pay either at the beginning of the ride, or at the end of the ride. I had them take my mother in law and aunts back to Brooklyn — and they had some heavy packages (I tipped the driver a little extra to help them with their packages). When my mother in law got home we spoke to her and she said her driver helped them into the elevator with the heavy bags.
They couldn’t have been easier to work with. We booked with a few days notice — no problem. We booked for an asap pickup — no problem. Every time I called them they answered the phone before the second ring. As soon as I hung up with them, I got an email with the confirmation number.
Fair price, clean cars, super reliable six out of six times. I hope your experience is as great as ours was this week. I will, of course, use them every time we go to NY. They have earned my business, and have earned this review.

Vile. Overpriced. I requested a car suitable for 3 adults and when a normal car showed up the driver wouldn’t let me sit in the front seat so had to sit on top of my client…? He asked me to pay cash for the mid town tunnel… On top of the other charges. I will never use this car service again (did so as my clients needed a lift from forest hills into the city for a dinner event). Please use über or a taxi or really any other car service (love Hoyt in Astoria).

About a week ago, my teenage daughter was picked up at LGA by Dial 7 car. Since I mistakenly gave Dial 7 the old address which was about 6 blocks from her building, she informed the driver that she needed him to driver few more blocks on Broadway. Let me make it clear she was not asking for a major detour to another part of Manhattan. It was literally a few more blocks drive on Broadway. BTW, my daughter realized immediately that it must have been me who had given Dial 7 the wrong address (I made this mistake once before) — so she did not blame the driver or Dial 7. She merely said that she did not want to be dropped off where he stopped and that she needed to go few more blocks. She also would not have argued if asked to pay a higher rate than quoted. Yet, for some reason, the driver who was Chinese just lost it. He became angry, refused to drive and began yelling at my daughter who could not comprehend what his problem was since he had a heavy accent and barely spoke English. My daughter’s guessed that he was screaming that his instruction was different and that she should not change it.
As proof of how long this guy ranted, consider this: my daughter texted my wife when the driver began screaming at her, my wife then phoned Dial 7, explained the whole situation to the woman who answered the phone (I had to look up the reservation number) and while my wife was on hold, she or one of her colleagues called the driver to calm him down. Not sure what they told the driver but he made the enormous sacrifice of driving few more blocks on Broadway. I was so upset when I leaned of the incident few minutes later that I made the call to Dial 7 myself and to ask for the driver’s name and phone number which Dial 7 refused to provide. The woman at Dial 7 actually asked me if my daughter felt «threatened.» I asked how else a teenage girl seating in a back of a car with a hostile driver screaming at her ought to feel. The Dial 7 woman assured me that this incident will go in the driver’s file and that a Customer Service department that handles problems of this nature (not sure now if this department actually exist) would phone me the very next day to discuss. Of course Dial 7 never phoned. I’m sure Dial 7 does not go out and deliberately hire crazy and possibly dangerous drivers. I do blame Dial 7 however for probably not compensating drivers sufficiently to either attract decent people or keep up a certain basic level of service. I would urge people to be careful and do what I intend to do from now on — I would happily pay $ 20 or more for airport pick up service from more upscale limo service.
As for the guy from Dial 7 who keeps responding to negative reviews here with standard corporate line about their disappointment that some of the reviewers did not receive proper service etc, I would ask that he does not do so here and to save his meaningless song and dance. I do not know what actually goes on inside Dial 7 but I’m pretty confident that Dial 7 will die out soon. UBER and similar companies will take over most of the market as they expand and fine tune their business and remainder of the market will be taken up by higher priced, high– end segment of more exclusive limo companies.

Very competitive pricing from JFK to Manhattan. I reserved a car online easily with a coupon code (trip was $ 43 with the $ 5 coupon code plus tip and toll). Very happy with the service. Car was on time and easy to find in a crowded airport likely very backed up due to historic snow storm! Will definitely use again.

Got a ride from JFK on a Friday night to Manhattan. Everything went smoothly (picked up on time; good communication; charged the exact amount I expected). My one complaint is that the driver was on the phone most of the time — no headset.
Also got a ride on Sunday afternoon from Manhattan back to JFK. Everything went smoothly. My conference was over sooner than I expected and a driver was available to pick my up earlier than I reserved, which was great.

Horrendous service. They ripped my family off for over $ 350 for a trip from JFK to upper west side New York. Whatever you do DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. The only reason I booked them is to ensure my family had a car seat for my nephew but will never use them again. They are basically scam artists.

Never used the service and now I never will. I was cut off by a Dial 7 driver on I-​95. I was going a little over 70 and apparently it wasn’t fast enough for the Dial 7 driver in back of me. The driver rode my bumper for a few minutes then decided to cut me off at 70mph almost hitting my car and then breaking as soon as he got in front of me. This is a dangerous form of road rage and if I hadn’t quickly moved into the other lane it would have been a major accident. The driver got away before I could get the number on their plate. What kind of reputable company hires people who are reckless with others lives? Thanks to this experience I will never use their service.

I’d sooner strap a saddle on the back of a turtle to get somewhere than I would call this car service. Anytime there’s traffic while I’m driving on the BQE, there’s a good chance one of these morons is adding to it. They don’t understand basic driving concepts such as speed limit; if the limit is 45, why the hell are you driving 30? And why are you doing it in the left lane? They pay no mind to the fact that car after car passes them from the right, which isn’t supposed to be how it works. If they are going to create their own speed limits, they should at least do it in the right lane so as to not cause disruption to other people on the road.
Inconsiderate and incompetent. Those are not the qualities I want in a person who is responsible for my prompt arrival at various destinations.

Very punctual, clean cars, very polite. Just wished that the driver who picked us up wasn’t sick. My son now has the flu, not sure if it was because of the driver?

Worst experience ever. If I could I would rate this car service zero stars. The driver was incompetent. We arrive and he is waiting for us by the luggage pick up, when we ask him where the car was he parked all the way on the other side of the airport. Long story short I was left waiting outside in the cold, amongst dangerous traffic with 3 young children (twins that are 1 and my 5 year old daughter). It took the driver at least 30 minutes to bring the car around. What is the point in ordering a car service to wait. The whole purpose was to have the car waiting so we could load quickly and leave. Then come to read my statement they have the nerve to charge for parking when I never requested the driver to park. I am still waiting more than 24 hours for a manger to get back to me.

Lost my wallet in a Dial 7 car. Spoke to the office. They spoke to the drivers. Found my wallet with all my cash and credit cards. Honest driver and wonderful customer service. Will continue to use them.

Car isnt the type requested, car is very dirty, the drivers was texting and calling while driving, and regarding the payment by the end of the trip the driver seems like have no clue how much to charge and try to charge more than its supposed to be, horrible experience dont be fooled by their advertisement.

If I could give this service negative stars I would. They were 45 minutes late picking me up. The driver called numerous times yelling at me that he couldn’t find me and when I called the number for help the women spoke with incorrect grammar and was very ghetto.
The driver showed up and couldn’t speak English. It would have been better to walk to NYC.

I am very pleased with Dial 7’s professional drivers, clean town cars, affordable prices and overall great service. While visiting New York, we used Dial 7 for our transportation transfers from the Airport to our Hotel. Their website to reserve the private transportation is super easy to use and the prices are up front and very affordable. The website lets you know toll charges are extra, and it’s clear on your receipt as well. Even with the toll charges and tip the overall price was quite reasonable.
As soon as we retrieved our baggage we called their phone number to let them know we were ready. The Dial 7 representative quickly acknowledged my confirmation and told us where to stand outside the terminal pick up area. They gave me the identification number that is clearly displayed on the vehicles windshield so I know it’s my driver. Not more than 5 minutes later my driver is pulling up. Nice clean black town car. It smelled clean, no heavy perfume and no blaring music. The driver was very professional, and just asked if we were comfortable with the temperature and then said nothing else the entire drive, unless we initiated it.
Credit card payment was very easy and you can add the tip on the credit card if you want, but I know the drivers appreciate cash if possible. They can provide a receipt or they can email the receipt. We were so impressed with the overall service; we booked the return transfer from the hotel back to the airport with Dial 7. It was the same great experience. When I visit New York again I will surely book my transportation transfers with Dial 7.
TRAVEL LIKE A BOSS!
Tip of the day– Save the transportation services phone number as well as your confirmation number on your cell phone so you don’t have to worry about searching through your travel documents to find it when you are at the airport!

They have always been on time and have never cancelled on me or never have had a problem.
My only complaint is that since they are based in the city they charge return fares for Newark airport even though EWR would probably be considered as a NYC area airport and I’m sure they will get rides back from EWR to NYC.
While they are free to use any business practices they deem appropriate, the fact that I’d have to pay return tolls on the Holland tunnel (~12 $) was not clearly spelled out which is why I docked 1 star.
Otherwise, great service and you can always find a coupon right on their website

AWESOME CAR SERVICE !!! Used their service when me and my mom went to NYC in early August. Service to and from LGA (LaGuardia Airport) was great! Our driver to the hotel, Ahmed M, was hella cool. He even gave us a little history while on the ride to the Financial District. He picked us up promptly (within 5 min of getting our bags). When it was time to leave NYC, our driver Chun L, called my cell, let me know when he’d be there. Sure enough, he was already at the hotel, waiting on us.
Also, when ordering the car service, the reps were great, very kind and professional. We even cracked a joke or 2. Will definitely use this service again when I come back to NYC

I ordered two cars to carry family friends back home. One which I was in arrived to destination without a hiccup, no toll charge. The second car was no where to be seen. 30 minutes pass and I found out the other driver has been lost and been driving in circles and went on unnecessary toll roads. Once the 2^nd car arrived they were 45 minutes behind. The driver demanded to pay toll and tips. Even before I sent my family friends on the second car the driver was demanding tips already.
Very disappointing first time using this service. Won’t be using Dial 7 anymore.
The only pro was they arrived to the pick up location on time.

We were picked up from EWR and the «standard» car was fair. Driving was pretty hair-​raising and during travel it was obvious the car needed some work to be a comfortable ride. Decided that for our return trip today we would book the next step up, the «luxury» service. Pretty sure that this company needs to invest in a dictionary, or at least download and app, because this car was the farthest thing from it. The car absolutely REEKED of body odor, which made for a pretty torturous 50 minutes. Beyond the downright offensive smell, the driving left A LOT to be desired. Can’t believe I paid MORE money for WORSE service. Definitely will be taking my business elsewhere in the future!
My original ride was on Wed, ⁶⁄₂₄; however I have been unable to locate the conf #. My main issue was with the ride on ⁶⁄₂₉ (conf# 1 580 438 178) where we paid additional to have upgraded service which definitely did not live up to the description on your site.
***Updated 9/​3/​15** So here I am, more than 2 months later with no response from the company. Why bother to act concerned that the service was sub-​par and ask for details about the ride when you’re not even going to do anything about it?!? I will tell everyone I know to avoid this service at all costs!!! Do not use Dial 7 if you expect any semblance of good customer service, it would seem they skipped that day of business school!!!

If I had read all the negative reviews beforehand, I probably would not have used Dial7. But since I was visiting friends in Brooklyn and they booked Dial7 for me to get to JFK in the morning, I didn’t have a choice.
The booking process went smoothly on-​line and I arranged a pickup time of 9am to get to JFK. Shortly after the on-​line booking was completed, I received an email confirmation. That next morning, my driver called me at 8:55am to let me know that he had arrived to pick me up.
The driver was polite and efficient and got me to JFK in about 25 mins on a Monday morning from DUMBO, which is excellent time. He asked for my credit card and completed the transaction. The fare was $ 61 (without tip) which is a fair rate.
I was very pleased with Dial7 and would highly recommend them!!!

Dial 7 has proven to be a solid service for me in the half dozen times I have taken them.
Cars are clean, drivers are friendly. They are more reliable than many other car services I have taken in the past.
One of the best parts for me is the online ordering of cars. Many options are available for vehicles from sedans to stretch hummers and party buses. They show the prices for each and satisfy my laziness of not wanting to call for a car.
The price is a little on the high side, but for reliable service it is worth the price.
I’ve only had one hiccup with their service. They accidentally sent 2 cars to pick me up one morning (5am). The other driver wasn’t too happy about another driver picking me up, but was polite about it.
There is always a chance you can get a terrible driver, if that is the case make sure to report it to the company and not just on Unilocal.This way things can improve for the better and your future experiences won’t be bad.

It has gone downhill since 2012…
This time, the driver, Jian Ling Zhang, provided us with a very bad Dial7 experience.
— The first and most alarming issue is that he asked us to pay and tip first. He did not seem to understand the concept that a tip is an addition for good service. He eventually relented, but it made us feel very uncomfortable.
— He drove very recklessly, tailgating, merging in and out of lanes, driving between lanes, though you could say this is no worse than you would get from a Taxi hack.
— He ignored my directive to exit the Triboro bridge via 125 St — 2 Av. He had an alternate way that really just resulted in him wasting his own time (he was in a hurry, right?) on the FDR.
— Minor, but worth mentioning: he answered a personal call during the ride.
— Minor, but worth mentioning: His breath stank, I meant it was absolutely rank and you could smell it in the whole car.
They need to improve your driver training before these guys are allowed to pick up fares. This is pretty bad and the second time in a row we had a bad Dial7 experience with a pick up late at night: short version of that is that the driver got extremely combative when asked to take a different route that avoided toll (and took more time.)
All that said, this time the operator service was good and it was easy to make a call to reserve an un-​scheduled pickup. The operator spoke clearly and understood me despite wind blowing at 30mph into the speakerphone.

Wir haben dial7 als Taxiservice gebucht für den Transport von 4 Personen von Newark Airport nach Upper Manhattan und wieder nach Newark.
Ich habe das alles per Internet gebucht. Die Buchung war problemlos. Die gebuchten Minivans waren für die Personenanzahl und das Gepäck gut geeignet. (4 große Koffer und Handgepäck) Im Internet habe ich einen Coupon gefunden (jeweils 5 $) der auch problemlos bei der Buchung berücksichtigt und vom Fahrer akzeptiert wurde.
Die Autos waren sauber, die Fahrer freundlich und hilfsbereit. Auf der Rückfahrt war der Fahrer zu früh da, wartete aber geduldig bis wir von Starbucks zurück kamen.
Die Quittung der einzelnen Fahrten wurden per Email geschickt. Insgesamt ein empfehlenswerter Service mit transparentem Buchungsvorgang.
Positiv möchte ich noch erwähnen, dass man die Buchungen auch relativ kurzfristig stornieren kann.
Tip für deutsche Touristen: vor dem Abflug in Deutschland eine US Simkarte (prepaid) kaufen und die Nummer bei der Buchung angeben.
