Business Owner

Brandon M. Rushing officially formed B. Rushing Lawn and Landscaping in 1995. From that point forward, there was no looking back. Through high school and college he increased his services and client base. Brandon has been a local resident of Fairfax County for over 30 years and graduated from George Mason University. In 1995, Brandon was selected by the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce as the High School Entrepreneur of the year. Brandon has also earned the CLP certificate (Certified Landscape Professional), a nationally certified program from PLANET (Professional Landcare Network) the industry’s leading association.

We thought having high dollar landscaping done (not by B Rushing) would take care of the yard. Well, for a few months it did. But things like bare spots in the grass and bushes overgrowing, weeds growing in, that sort of thing just made the yard look bad. Not smart after spending a lot on landscaping. We got estimates from several companies (including the one that did the landscaping) but were impressed that B Rushing would only give an estimate once they’d done with a walkaround with me. It wasn’t the cheapest but turned out very well. It was explained that it would take several months to a year to get things looking as good as it could so a long-term contract was probably best. We initially went with a 2-year and are just beginning the second year. I contracted with them to do everything except mowing. The yard looks great! We are expecting to sell in the coming year and B Rushing will do a tidy-up to enhance the curb appeal. They are a full-service lawn and landscape company so you can have them do as much or as little as you need. For me, I just like to walk the lawnmower and they’re totally fine with that. Great job!

I bought a home about a year ago and immediately realized I had significant drainage issues due to my lot location, sump pump usage and hard clay northern Va Soil. I like to do a lot of work around the home myself, but I couldn’t figure this one out. I called B Rushing L&L, they made and appointment and came right out for the consultation. Quickly, Brandon, the owner was able to identify what was going on and gave me a few options to choose from. Based on my budget and timeline we chose an option and set up an install date. What I liked was they did it right from start to finish. Since the solution would be a long run of drainage pipe installed underground to get the water away from my home, they got the county out to my home to mark all the wires, ensuring they didn’t cut any lines. On the installation day, the crew showed up on time, briefed my wife on the scope of work, and began. They ended up working all day, even facing a challenge of some large rocks buried underground, which they had to deal with. When they were complete, the crew leader took the time to walk me through the work and ensure I was happy with the project. We discussed upkeep and made sure I understood how the system worked. When they left, the yard looked like it did before. The company followed up with me a week later to ensure everything was working correctly. I even called them before the first freeze this winter just to ask how to deal with the snow and ice and I received a quick answer. I would highly recommend B. Rushing Lawn and Landscaping.
