Quality Services Moving

My wife and I used QMS twice now and they did great both times. The good part about then is they are cheep. Both times the quote can in with in $ 100.00 of the total price, both cheaper. They arrived on time and moved straight threw till they where finished.

I was very hopeful when I decided to use Quality Services. I really liked one of the senior VPs who came out to do my estimate and who handled my account, and I really wanted to use this company based on a friend’s recommendation and based on the fact that they hire veterans. My initial experience was great. Mike, the person handling my account, gave me a worst case scenario estimate, and the movers in D.C. were great and very professional. However, the day before I was to drive out west, a dispatcher called me to tell me that my stuff would not arrive until the week after they told me it would arrive. I was never once told that a delayed arrival might be a possibility, so I was understandably frustrated. I did not know until I was almost to my destination that my stuff would arrive on time. When my items arrived, a very large framed picture of sentimental value broke because the movers in D.C. failed to properly package it in a picture box. I submitted a claim, then submitted a revised claim based on a corrected estimate for the framing and matting for my vintage poster, which had also been damaged by the broken glass from the frame. What a HUGE nightmare to deal with their claims department. When I got the check for my claim, I realized that they had based their reimbursement on the initial estimate, not the revised one. When I tried to call Ellen Knowles, the person handling my claim, she refused to call me back, claiming that everything has to be in writing, and claiming that I could only submit one claim. I was furious. Not only is it incredibly unprofessional to refuse to return phone calls, it’s very frustrating when you can explain something by the phone n five minutes instead of writing a long email trying to get your point across. Ellen finally agreed to reopen my claim file, and then I heard nothing for several weeks. I finally followed up with her, and it was only then that she told me that they accepted my revised estimate and sent me an additional claim check. Again, completely unprofessional to not even let me know that she concluded that I was right and that my check was in the mail. There were no apologies or anything. Bottom line: I would not use this company again. I told them via phone survey that I would use them again, but that was before the claims debacle. What a nightmare. Spare yourself the grief and aggravation, and use another company.

Couldn’t have asked for a more professional crew to do my move from VA to MD. Mike came out to do an estimate and came very close to what the final weight was so that there were no unpleasant surprises upon completion of the job.
I’d request the same crew over and over again. Jose, Ruben, and Andrew showed up early, had the move done quickly despite the rain, and there was absolutely no damage to my things. They were friendly and fun to work with.

Mr Craig Little is like superman. Anything we needed Craig was on top of. Really couldn’t ask for better service. I mean Craig is the front man as far as I am concerned but the whole team is just Awesome! I like how they take care of everything in house. Like pool tables and grand pianos (not that I have either). It just shows the quality of the team they have @ QSM. Thanks Craig and thanks QSM.

I just used them for my move back to WA, and they are really great people. They’re funny, appreciative, and very respectful.
There’s always downsides, and there’s a couple of them. I own a Sleep Number bed, and when I first had the in home estimate, I specifically asked if they are capable of packing that mattress, and they said of course. That was a lie. They disconnected my air bed, which made it partially deflate, but one of the movers covered it with tape. When it arrived in WA, they didn’t know how to inflate it, and the power cord for my bed was missing. Luckily they found the power cord and reconnected the bed. Once I started to inflate it, I noticed that my bed is misshapen because it was so deflated, it shifted position, and the bed is bulging out.
Also, there’s a couple small missing items like laundry products, and a broken nightstand, but I already knew bad things would happen, so I was prepared, and it’s not in me to be angry at them. I’d have to give them huge kudos for spending some extra time on unpacking. The last movers I used didn’t even ask if I needed help unpacking even though they knew damn well I’m disabled.
Overall, if I had the chance to use them again, I would. I would just have to keep a closer eye on my goods.

Very disappointed with our move last week with Quality Services. The 2 men we had move us were great but that was one of the problems, there was only 2 men that moved us when we were charged for 3 movers. We had to be out of our townhouse by 3pm which wouldn’t have been a problem with 3 movers from the start but since there was only 2 they didn’t finish in time before the management company got there to check us out. The 2 movers also struggled getting one of our couches in our new house and scratched the entire stairwell trying to carry it up which wouldn’t have happened with 3 movers.
Also, the gentleman came and did a thorough estimate but they only provide an estimate and it is non-​binding which we weren’t totally comfortable with, but the gentleman promised me he is usually within 3−4% and that since we didn’t have too many things it would be close, yeah he was off by over 700 lbs (over 14%). So suffice to say we ended up paying a lot more than the estimate and they couldn’t provide us a copy of the weight ticket either.
I really wanted to like this company better as they are veteran own and operated but the overall experience was just such a disappointment.

QSM helped me move from Texas to Ohio. They were fantastic and true service professionals. Hard working, polite and flexible with my needs. Great company! Thanks to Emily and Andy for all of their communication during my move!

Highly recommend. They got me out of a pinch today when I fired our first movers the day of our move. Polite guys & respectful of «my stuff.» Thank you.

I just did a big move from Herndon, VA to Dallas, TX in mid-​December 2010. The move-​out process of our townhouse was done quickly with no hitches.
We were originally given a date range of arrival in Dallas, which was fine. But then we ourselves ended up getting there a few days earlier than we expected to, so we were very hopeful that our things would arrive at the earliest date in the range they had provided; we called them and told them this. The moving crew actually ended up coming a day earlier than expected, which was really great. All of our stuff was in good shape when it arrived. No broken mirrors, glasses, or anything like that, but then we don’t really have any antiques or anything that could break easily, so maybe your mileage may vary.
Best part: we were originally given an estimate that I assumed would be a few hundred dollars under what the real cost would end up being. Turns out we came in $ 500 UNDER the estimate. :)
Based on my experience, I would highly recommend Quality Services. The staff was courteous and careful, the estimate was on target, our things arrived safely and on time, and we were able to get updates on where our stuff was from the main office because they have GPS on every truck.

Being affiliated with the military I have moved or been moved my fair share. I found this company through my Realtor, a company they had used in the past. I called them up and a few other. Looked around on the Internet. Everyone promised quotes but it was all based on what I said and why would I know? I am not a mover. These guys actually made an appointment, confirmed and showed up on time. He even called when he thought he was going to get caught in beltway traffic. So he came to my house and looked at my things and in the closest and gave me an estimate. It was guaranteed. I got the last team available for the date I wanted. They have twenty team of three men with one truck each. The company is veteran owned and operated. The team was on time. They packed, moved and unloaded in a days work. Underbid and reassembled. If I had to do it again, it would be with these guys.
In response to the other review, maybe that was a different team? But seriously that does suck. I was once given box 32 and the company refused to do anything about the fact that it wasn’t MY box 32. It was someone Else’s so someone had mine. But I couldn’t return it since no one knew how it happened. And based on the contents we have very different tastes, assuming only two families were involved. So my heart goes out to you. And suing does not bring back that piece you loved enough to store instead of sell or give away.
