Founded in 1996, we are dedicated to creating lifelong relationships with our customers through ongoing communication and sensitivity to homeowner’s needs that commences with the initial phone call and carries through to job site teamwork and continues beyond project completion.

Meet the Business Owner

John and Lynn H.

Business Owner

A third generation Californian, John grew up in the Central Valley and graduated from Cal Poly with a BS in Landscape Construction before moving to the Bay Area where he sold irrigation systems to Napa wineries, managed field operations for construction and landscaping firms (including his own) and even did a 4-​year stint as the Operations Director for a network wiring company before founding Hammerschmidt Construction. As one of area’s first is a Certified Green Builders, John enjoys working with homeowners to design and build homes that are functional, beautiful, and easy-​to-​maintain. He holds both A (General Contractor) and B (Engineering) licenses and is a Certified Kitchen and Bath designer. A Palo Alto native, and Cal grad, Lynn spent 20+ years as a customer service and marketing executive in start-​up, diagnostic, and pharmaceuticals before rescuing John from a mountain of paperwork. Lynn handles the business-​of-​the business as well as providing design assistance to customers.
