History

Established in 1992.

Sonny Perry Dance is owned and operated by Sonny Perry, a former US Finalist Professional competitive dancer as well as North American Pro Finalist. Sonny teaches all levels of Ballroom, Latin, Swing, Salsa and Tango. He is certified and has been registered with the National Dance Council of America as a respected teaching professional and competitive coach to beginners to advanced. Certified Fred Astaire.

Sonny Perry is a former US Professional Latin and Ballroom Finalist and a very experienced teacher of Latin-​American and Ballroom dancing. Sonny is a long time teacher of college’s Ballroom departments as well as a private coach and teacher for 15 tears. He uses syllabus and simple elements to create grace and poise into people’s lives. Sonny has studied various forms of movement via dance, theatre, sports, and music to enhance his abilities as a Ballroom and Latin American teacher, choreographer and coach. Extensive resume of work for TNN, MTV, CMT, ABC, OWN and many students. Member NDCA. Certifications Fred Astaire.

Wonderful and brilliant dance instructor
I’ve been taking lessons from Sonny since 2008. He got ballroom dance down to science, literally! He breaks down his instruction in that the student may relate ballroom dancing to everyday actions. He’s not all about making you «memorize» dance steps but learning to use the body and its natural actions to maximize performance on the dance floor. He also teaches dance in a fashion where its learning a language between a leader and a follower. I have definitely improved much as a dancer with Sonny’s instruction.

Sonny is a real inspiration in dance and in life. He has a holistic approach to dance and I always feel so much better after spending an hour of dance time with him. I have learned so much from him — I love how he focuses on technique, and I always have so much fun with his creative choreography. He was my first coach for competitions and really helped me build my confidence and technique. I appreciate that he challenges me to continually stretch myself and improve my dancing and my life.
