Ronnie far exceeded our expectations! The meal was beyond delicious and Ronnie was a pleasure to do business with. I called him only a week prior and he was able to create a highly personalized 3-​course menu for my fiancée’s birthday dinner. Ronnie was incredibly responsive and helpful throughout the entire process. His presentation was excellent and timing was perfect. It was such a great experience and the best part was we didn’t have to wash any dishes. I would highly recommend him to all of our friends and family.

I hired Ronnie for a dinner surprise for my husband and I in our new home– and it was so wonderful and special! It was also delicious and completely inventive as I am breastfeeding and can not eat dairy, soy, gluten or eggs, Ronnie not only pulled it off he completely exceeded our expectations of what healthy food could be. Ronnie is so nice and friendly and accommodating– he was a joy to have in our home preparing us a fantastic menu. As my husband said, we will be calling him again very soon! Thanks Ronnie!

We hired Ronnie for our New Year’s Eve party. We had about 15 guests and he made a perfect 3-​course meal. Ronnie’s communication was great from the start and offered great choices for our meal. He was punctual, orderly and cleaned up everything after cooking and serving. His assistant was wonderful as well. I had two guests who did not eat red meat (we chose a steak dish) and one of whom has Celiac disease and must be completely gluten free. He was happy to adjust the dishes accordingly and they enjoyed their meals just as much.
The food was tasty, especially the chocolate dessert! We were happy a few people didn’t show up so we could enjoy the left overs the next day! My daughter, who doesn’t like vegetables, devoured the arugula salad and wants me to learn how to make it.
Its not cheap, but well worth the cost for a special occasion. We would definitely recommend Chef Ronnie and hire him again.

This was such a great experience! We wanted to do something kind of different for Mom’s birthday so we decided on a cooking class at the house followed by dinner. Ronnie was really great working with us to customize a menu, full of Mom’s favorite dishes. When he showed up, he and his sous chef marched straight into the kitchen to get organized and took over while the rest of us got to sit back and relax. When it was time to cook, he had all of the different stations set up and put us to work! His organization and most of all, his enthusiasm and personality, really made it a great time. I would highly recommend him for an in-​home event. We will definitely turn to him in the future! And you must have the Cheddar Buttermilk Biscuits… best biscuits ever!

We were planning and end-​of-​summer party and wanted to find a caterer or chef that would make delicious food to make the night even more special and we did… we found Chef Ronnie! I read his reviews on Unilocal and called Ronnie and immediately felt a connection with his friendly manner and approach to food and hospitality. Chef Ronnie listened to what we were looking for and came back with an amazing menu that when prepared and served was even more fabulous then we were hoping! The Salmon Ceviche was incredible, and every dish in fact was delicious, but one of the other great things about having Chef Ronnie for your event is that he is such a warm presence in your home while his preparing and serving his lovely food! I highly recommend him and cannot wait to have him back for our next event!

I am so happy that I found Chef Ronnie on Unilocal!We were originally going to take my dad out to dinner for his birthday but at the last minute came up with the idea of surprising my dad by hiring a private chef to come to my dad’s house and cook us all dinner. And when I say last minute, I really mean last minute! I called Ronnie on a Sunday for a dinner on Tuesday! He was so kind and gracious over the phone and lucky for us was able to accommodate our party of 8 adults and 4 kids within 2 days!
I had never hired a private chef before and Ronnie took the time to explain the whole process and was very up front about how much it was going to cost, which I really appreciated. Once we got everything booked he sent me some menu options and was able to accommodate all of my special requests (we’ve got some food allergies in the family) and accommodated all of my changes. What I really appreciated about Ronnie was that he was so considerate and thoughtful about my 2 year old’s peanut allergy and went out of his way to not only go out and get the specific ingredients I requested, he even called me from the store to make sure he got it right! That really meant a lot to me.
And the food was AMAZING!!! All 3 courses were delicious, everything was so elegant yet umpretentious. Just really great ingredients with amazing flavors. And it was the perfect amount of food, too. And most importantly, my dad really enjoyed the experience and loved the food. And he’s incredibly picky so I was really happy! Not to mention that my mom was worried about having to clean up after Ronnie left, but all the other reviews are right– he actually left the kitchen cleaner than he found it! And Ronnie is really very personable with the perfect about of professionalism, he made himself at home in our kitchen but was always very respectful and considerate. All in all I am so happy to have found Chef Ronnie and look forward to hiring him for our next special occasion!

I am so grateful to Ronnie for making my dad’s birthday such an amazing memory. I contacted Ronnie less than a week prior to the event and he was just wonderful with everything. He was friendly, professional and truly caring about making my dad’s birthday amazingly tasteful. He was very clear and helpful throughout the entire process of planning the event. During the event, he was exceptional and making sure everybody was happy and making sure they knew each one of the plates he was serving. Everybody LOVED his food! We couldn’t have ask for anyone else. Did I mention that he leaves the kitchen clean? I mean, come on, can get you get any more awesome? I would highly recommend Ronnie for any event!

Ronnie was amazing and so was his food. I suggest having an idea of your guests food style (what everyone likes and doesn’t like) and then let Ronnie put it together. I told him what we wanted to drink and he provided menu options that worked within the budget, them and food style. I highly recommend him!

Chef Ronnie cooked a wonderful meal for me and my family for my mom’s 60^th birthday. He was friendly, professional, left the kitchen clean, and the food was amazing. I would definitely recommend him!

I have to echo all the other reviews. Chef Ronnie and his staff (Arturo & Rickie) were the epitome of professional service, and his food was every bit as delicious as I’d hoped for and envisioned. As soon as I contacted Ronnie after finding him on Unilocal,he replied promptly and collaborated with me to plan the menu for 75 people for our housewarming party. Just as importantly, he and his staff cleaned up after themselves so well that you couldn’t even tell they’d been here. We will definitely be using Chef Ronnie’s services again in the future!

Ronnie came to our house the Saturday after Valentine’s Day. He was so friendly and his food was fantastic! He listened to our loves likes and not so muches and created an amazing selection of food! It was intimate and dynamic!

Ronnie’s food was fabulous and he was wonderful to work with from day one. It was a surprise party for my husband with about 40 guests and we wanted substantial appetizers flowing constantly. Ronnie’s contributions to the party were invaluable. His biscuits with homemade fig jam and prosciutto were to die for — and just the right size for devouring with a glass of champagne. The endive with goat cheese, oranges and almonds were another favorite — so beautiful and fresh.
Hats off to Ronnie. It was a true pleasure doing a party with him. We look forward to more memorable occasions utilizing his special culinary talent and artistry.

WOW! What an incredible experience from start to finish dealing with Ronnie from both a food and service expertise stand point.
Like others here, I came across Ronnie via Unilocal then traveled to his personal site and was immediately impressed by the reviews, pictures, and overall presentation that he portrays. We were hosting a NYE dinner party for 15 people total and wanted to do something new and interesting. Most all of our group are «foodies» so I knew that our guests would need to be impressed… and impressed we were! From the planning, communication, timeliness, courtesy, sous chef (what up Bryce!), and of course the FOOD!, it as an A+ experience.
Well done sir, can’t wait to have you back into our home for another memorable evening.

We wanted to do something fun and memorable for my 40^th bday so we googled personal chefs. We came across Chef Ronnie and called him right away. He was very responsive, personable and clearly an expert in his field. He listened to our menu ideas and also offered ideas of his own-​it was a very collaborative and enjoyable process from start to finish.
On the day of the event, Chef Ronnie arrived on time and immediately felt like an old friend. We also have small children and Ronnie went out of his way to speak to and connect with them. So much so that my daughter gave him a kiss before bedtime… and we’re lucky to get that at times! He didn’t have to do that but it was so special that he did.
Now onto the meal-​absolutely sensational! We started with a leek, thyme and goat cheese crostini, followed by a braised short rib with parmesan polenta, and ended with a bread pudding with a toffee sauce and homemade ice cream… YUM! Chef Ronnie had very generous portions and even whipped up some bread rolls from scratch based on my last minute request.
Our guests were in awe and couldn’t believe how incredible the entire experience was. Chef Ronnie and his sous chef took great care of us the entire evening and made sure the kitchen was sparkly clean before they left. I can’t say enough about the quality and professionalism of Chef Ronnie and we will definitely use his services again! Thank you for a wonderful experience!!!

I had a last-​minute request from my Dad to get a private chef for Mom for her 80^th birthday on 20 Dec. Yikes! Any kind of catering the week before Christmas in SoCal — pretty unlikely to find anybody. But I trooped on, found a few folk.
When Ronnie, owner of The Delicious Cook, and I chatted about my wishes for Mom’s birthday dinner, he got it instantly.
Well, we had the meal last night. And … YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN THERE.
An amazing dinner — he brought his own plates, so literally no cleanup, b/​c he took the plates with him!
He accommodated my adjustments — an amuse bouche, a palate cleanser (get these, they add a wonderful personalization to your dinner).
Stress-​free? Yup, check. On time? Yep. Communicates well? Yes. Asked about allergies and preferences? Yes, and remembered them all. Cost? About what you’d expect for a private fawkin’ chef!
My Dad, who never pays compliments to food, gushed for a good 20 minutes about how wonderful the meal was. He ate two of the amazing marscapone mousse desserts, then gushed some more!
In case you haven’t figured it out by now, just call Ronnie, tell him you saw the Unilocal review from Don, and then just relax and let him help you — special dinner for four in your home, no problem! Bigger parties, no problem!

The images of cooking for a party of 12 is not even remotely possible for a person who thinks heating up sauce from a jar IS cooking! So when the task at hand had to be dealt with, I was so grateful for the referral. Coming from a family of cooks, I was definitely impressed with the high scale of dishes Ronnie put together in my not so equipped kitchen. Though I may not know nor like to cook as the rest of my family, I have impeccable palate for tasty food.
Ronnie’s roasted pork & all that came with it were as delightful as his demeanor with my party attendees. The food was ahhhhhhmazing & the presentation was a celebration on its own. We all enjoyed every bite down to the last scoop of panna cotta.
I absolute appreciate a man who can cook & Chef Ronnie won’t disappoint. His food is excellent quality. Highly recommend you throwing in the towel ‘cuz why sweat it when you can hire a chef who is personable & easy-​going.
BTW, he bakes cookies (to include red velvet). What more can you ask for?

Ronnie is, without exaggeration, the best private chef imaginable. I booked him to cook for a group of friends for my girlfriend’s birthday, and it was such a hit I can’t possibly write a review that does it justice.
His cooking is incredible — there were 10 of us and no one disagreed that his food is on par with, if not better than serious LA restaurant fare — but beyond that he’s just such a nice, funny, easygoing guy, he’s the ideal chef to have over. Everybody loved him. He was the perfect mix of personable and fun, but not in the slightest bit overbearing or intrusive.
And again, the food. Yes, the food. I’m telling you, our table was packed with food-​obessed folk and all I could hear from everyone for the next week was how impressed and delighted they were.
Honestly, Ronnie’s food and overall experience is one of those things that you almost don’t want to tell too many people about because it feels like an exclusively awesome thing to know about, but then again, he deserves crazy high praise. It was perfect.

I needed to plan a private dinner event for 16 guests and I had heard of The Delicious Cook through a colleague who had booked him a few weeks prior. After speaking with him (he’s very friendly), I booked Ronnie and I’m so glad that I did! All the guests at the dinner party were raving about the food and service and how perfect the whole night was. They were also saying how friendly and personable Ronnie was, which is a huge bonus!
I would highly recommend booking Ronnie and his crew because they do an impeccable job and you won’t be sorry! Definitely try the carrot and honey soup and the cornish game hen!

Ask him to make you the flourless chocolate cake. Seriously, you have to taste it.
I met Ronnie when I stopped by a friend’s house to drop something off for a party later that evening. He was so calm and relaxed as he worked in the kitchen, and everything he prepared looked scrumptious.
I am very much looking forward to working with him on something in the future. I’m hoping either a dinner party or some at home cooking lessons. I can really use some ideas to spice up my gluten free cooking options, and Ronnie’s just the guy to do it!

I recently attended a dinner party catered by the Delicious Cook. The star of this meal was a juicy prime rib that had been cooked to perfection and was beautifully presented. All the flavors were well balanced and blended together harmoniously. For dessert, the chocolate mouse was out of this world. Light, fluffy not too sweet — a little cup of heaven. Without hesitation I would highly recommend the Delicious Cook for your next dinner party. The chef, Ronnie, is professional, prompt, passionate and educated about what he cooks.
If you need delicious catering with an experienced and knowledgeable chef, the Delicious Cook is the way to go!
