Holiday Inn Express & Suites Lufkin South

New Holliday Inn Express, everything is clean and well kept. Good smell, beautiful building.

Was working in Lufkin for 4 weeks and stayed here for 1 of them. Check-​in was rather slow but I was greeted as a Platinum Member and received an upgrade to a suite and balcony, and bonus points.
The room wasn’t bad at first glance but in the mornings I would wake up with bites on my body. I knew it wasn’t bed bugs (I travel 42 weeks a year) so I started to inspect the room very good — There were spiders everywhere. I told staff and they said they could move me to another room but I would have the same problem; ummm really? I bought some spray at wal mart and it seemed to work but who knows. The room itself was pretty clean and modern but, the wifi was absolutely awful… could not even keep a connection for more than 5 minutes. once again staff couldn’t do nothing about it.
it was pretty pricey around $ 150 a night so the remainder of my stay I re-​located to the Marriot (Courtyard). Probably would not go back… not even an apology or call from the manager.

Everything was good but internet. It is a joke. Bad thing is verizon has horrible coverage around here from my experience and holiday inn internet is laughable. S l o w. Doesn’t describe it. Worse than dial up. Only reason it gets 2 stars

Okay, so the only reason I’m not giving it one star is because I had great customer service. I’ve worked with two front desk clerks — so far, but I just couldn’t wait for the stay to be over before I wrote this stuff down… I had SPIDERS in my bed. Not A spider… single…SPIDERS!!! I caught one and took it downstairs. The sweet front desk clerk was mortified. She offered to move me to a different room. Thanks for my training I know it’s not bed bugs. I ripped up the sheets and checked everything out. I have two beds in my room, thank goodness. I checked the other one and it is all clear. I know I’m faking myself out, but I’ve hardcore moved into this room already so I’m just going to pretend they don’t move to the second bed during the night. I will update this review with the outcome of this adventure. I did do a little reading online and it seems like bugs are a constant here. I know that in the woods it’s probably a terrible challenge to keep the insect control down, but gosh, it’s yucky. Thanks ladies for being sweet during check-​in and spider drama… you’re what kept this hotel from getting 2 stars… :)

Checked in about 11pm had to leave early in the morning. A party in room next to me started called front desk about loud noises banging on walls and loud TV. It got a little better and I fell asleep. Then at approximately at 3:15 am the real party started. The front desk again said there was very little they could do but give me another room. I could not understand why they could not tell the people in the party room either to quiet down or leave. I was up and away now. I left the hotel very angry with no sleep. MOD what the guy like to call him self could not call his boss and ask him for his help.
