Perhaps car repairs, like life, tends to go in cycles. Sometimes you’re up and sometimes you’re down and one just needs to expect and get on with it. So I have a painful and grudgingly accepting relationship with our older vehicles which have been in the downcycle of repairs for the last six months or so. Finding a shop that is reliable and trustworthy is hard. We have purchased most all of our vehicles through Zimbrick and have used their service often over the years. But for other than the vehicle I primarily drive, we have been gravitating towards Odana Tire which is just off of Odana on Yellowstone Drive. Scheduling with them is fairly easy and they are always friendly and professional. They have always repaired our vehicles on time and at the cost promised. We have bought tires, had oil changes, tire rotations, exhaust work, alternator, belts, and head gasket work done. All have been well done and the costs seemingly fair. They do not have loaner cars but I believe will provide some shuttle service. While their customer amenities like a loaner, shuttle service or better coffee in the waiting room(!), may not be on par with the large dealerships, the professionalism, trust and relationship I feel we now have with the guys there easily overcomes all of that. That is the primary reason five stars is necessary and is one of the ways we say thanks to them. I am very much looking forward to getting out of the current mechanical downcycle and not being there again. But until the tide turns, Odana Tire makes the repair pill/bill a little easier to swallow.

Odana Tire scheduled an appointment for my tire change(summer to winter tires) quickly and had the job within the expected time period(less than 3 hours). Price was competitive with other auto shops in Madison. I agree that the lobby doesn’t have much to offer(no comfy chairs or Wi Fi), but I’m willing to go back due to prompt service.

Brought my car in for some very minor maintenance and repairs. No major complaints and I would try them again. The lobby area is not too nice but as long as they get the work done for a fair price I don’t care.

Jeremy and all the guys are FANTASTIC/MARVELOUS/STUPENDOUS!!! when i lived in Madison i took my car there and eventually my grandmother took her car there as well. being a woman the one thing i hate most is car trouble — always feel like i’m going to be ripped off. NOTHERE! they are upfront with the costs, and talk to you like a human being, not an idiot who doesn’t know anything about cars. the only downfall is they’re not open on the wknds, so maybe if more people go and they get busy enough they will have wknd hours :) take your car here — you both deserve it!

These guys are the best! Have been going to them since they were at Hilldale and wouldn’t go anywhere else. They’re honest, thorough and have a great work ethic. Doesn’t get any better than this!

I’ve been using these guys since I moved to Madison in 2002– they have always been friendly, up-front, honest, proactive, and helpful with everything from a routine oil change(only $ 30 and without all the nagging up-sells) to major repairs. On a recent visit, they even helped me get my bike into my hatchback.

This used to be Hilldale Firestone until it was torn down to make way for the updated Hilldale complex. I love these guys. My family has been taking cars to them for about 25 years and we’ve always received excellent service. They’re really good about giving you advanced warning on likely problems(especially on older cars). A big ‘ol bill for a new timing belt isn’t so bad when you’ve had four months warning. Used car pre-sale checks have always been accurate. The whole shop is customer service oriented and everyone is very friendly.
