Holiday Inn Express & Suites Manchester-Airport

Just arrived late last night from the Manchester airport (11:00 pm to be exact). Tried to Call the hotel but no one answered. Had to try a few times to get them. shuttle was sent. Was a little confusing on using this service and no one told us that it was an unmarked van to look for, which was a little frustrated due to the time of arrival. After finally finding the shuttle everything went smoothly. Funny enough the driver of the van used to leave in our home town, and worked at KSC on the shuttle program with me. Small world. Staff at the front desk was very nice. She apologized about the situation. And explained that she had to deal with a situation on a floor. Which means either get two people to work the hotel at night or get her a cordless. Anyways our room is very nice and clean. Beds. Very confortable, will let you know on breakfast.

Was in Manchester for the Motley Crue concert with family and friends. Made the decision to stay overnight instead of scrambling home. Very glad I chose the Holiday Inn Express. The front desk staff, Emma specifically, was courteous, wonderful, respectful and accommodating. She was able to answer the couple questions I had with ease and professionalism. The room was very clean and just right for a nights stay. Location was absolutely perfect and it was easy for an Über to find my party to pick up and drop off. Will recommend this hotel to others and I hope to visit again in the future.

I’ve stayed at this particular HIE a few times now on business. I’ve stayed at the HI near the Manchester Airport a few times as well. This location is a little more convenient for me than the airport since I’m usually driving up versus flying. The area has more choices for food as well up and down South Willow Street versus the Dunkin Donuts, McDonald’s, and the Airport Diner next to the HI.
Plenty of parking in the front and back of the hotel. This HIE must have been remodeled in the last few years since it has newer décor like carpet, seating, etc. It’s a pretty small business center across from the lobby elevator, and not the best for multiple people. Free breakfast in the lobby great room is typical HIE fare.
IHG has the best point system in my opinion, and earning your way to Platinum status can be pretty quick. Overall, this HIE is A-​OK and fits the bill for convenience.

Being a platinum priority club i stay a lot at HI. The web site says smoking but it is a non-​smoking facility. They did not offer or upgrade instead put me in a room with no refrig.

A really nice, solid hotel. Friendly, competent service. Clean and spacious rooms. Not too expensive, not far from anywhere we wanted to go in Manchester and Bedford. The pool (open late until 11 p.m.) and hot tub were very welcome after a long drive the first night, and strenuous hiking the next. The breakfast was ok, not great (they advertise pancakes on a sign in the elevator, but none were to be found)…the little mini omelets were the best.

We stayed here by accident, thinking we had made a reservation for the Holiday Inn with the Diner… oops!
But this one was fine, and on a truly funny point of note, as we walked the hallway to where our room was located we saw a fridge, out in the hallway.
In a strange prescient moment, I knew that even though we were not yet near our room number, that broken fridge was ours. Y’know. Cause we had food to bring to our friends house the next day, of course.
The staff was accommodating, but unable to provide a new fridge. We stored our food in their house fridge downstairs. OK.
Nothing frilly or fancy, but the room was clean, the bed was soft, the shower hot, and continental brekkie offered, even if we did sleep through it.

quick in/​out, simple check-​in (for priority club members anyway), clean room, clean comfortable bed, nice flat screen TV in room. There isn’t much to complain about this location from what saw. I have certainly been in worse!
The bathroom needed a bit of an update. the tile and tub seemed a bit outdated and mineral stained from the water.
The rooms were quiet and we enjoyed our short time at this hotel. Several good breakfast places near this hotel if you are not interested in the free (limited and not that great) option in the lobby. Unilocal can tell you where they are and which ones to avoid!

Nice common areas. I did enjoy the couch & gas fireplace in lobby. Very nice lobby with gas fireplace and large flat screen TV.
Moderately clean. Saggy old mattress. The only thing more tired than me was the mattress. Had to sleep across the bed to avoid the saggy areas. Poorly made bed: I had to untuck the sheets, straighten the mattress pad’s multiple wrinkles and start over.
Hot breakfast food was inedible, except for the cinnamon rolls, which were delicious ‘breakfast crack’. Nice selection of yogurt and cold cereals and bagel/​toaster.
WORST thing was that I was put in a pet-​friendly room, at the pet end of the hallway. (and I left my beloved dog in Denver). Barking in the hallway at odd and early hours awakened me multiple times, then the adjacent room left their whining barking dog in their room for 45 mins while they went out. Ask for a NON pet area if you are here to sleep.
Worst, though, was the brown paper bag of groceries at I had set next to the desk — NOT near the trash can — was **taken** during room cleaning one day. It contained dried mangoes, a bag of cheesy popcorn, bars of dark chocolate, granola bars, 2 apples, 2 pears, 1 banana, and a bag of sweet potato chips. Now you know what I like to eat — all purchased at a wonderful natural food grocer about a mile away on Willow St. «A-​Market». Most of these I purchase because the store was preferring samples, and I was a sucker!
Front desk response to this was «are you sure?» Yes, I’m sure.
I will return to the LaQuinta in downtown Manchester next time, where I stayed a few months ago. It has breakfast, too, and nicer rooms, bedding, and my experience there was much more pleasant overall.

This place was just fine for our needs. We just needed a spot for one night before continuing on our road trip. So we didn’t need much but a nice soft bed and clean shower. They certainly had both!
They also had a free breakfast with all sorts of yumminess; eggs, bagels, fruits, yogurts, biscuits, etc. We loaded up on «to-​go» items that kept us happy for our road trip.
There was a gym, pool, and business center. We didn’t use them, but they looked nice. And the price was fair! Would certainly stop here again if needed.

The room was clean. The bathroom and furniture looked like it was only a few years old but they still have the old 26 inch tube TV.

Points of interest:
1. I am here for work– the internet does not work in my bedroom– they do not want to change my room– i work in the front foyer area whilst the patriots loving, white, (lesbian?) front desk woman talks to visitors about their ashy skin and how they need lotion (how professional)
2. I work downstairs all night then return to my room. I realize I need to iron. damn I hate ironing. I pull out the board– crap. It looks like someone beat the crap out of it– it is mangled. I call the front desk and said patriots loving front desk woman brings me a new one. with an attitude that makes me feel bad for asking for a new one and feel glad i am not a lesbian in NH.
2. Around 11pm I go to put my toiletries away. I turn around to put my shampoo in the shower and what do i see?- i see PUBIC HAIR everywhere all over the shower floor– and a rag– a dirty one. They forgot to wash a hotel tub (and it’s not like I checked in early — I checked in after 6pm). damn b*tch– my bumble and bumble may be from CVS but it ain’t going in your freaking pubie hair shower. i start gagging. i call the patriot’s lover. no apology– nothing.
3. There is a knock at my door. The hotel’s 55+ year old shuttle driver stands there and says nothing. he hands me the key. no apology– he is looking at me thinking ‘pubies pubies you said pubic hair to the lesbian’ — he leaves.
4. just now. i come home from a long day at work. i go to my room. i had left a ‘privacy’ sign on the door. my bed is made. my towels are fresh. i like an unmade hotel bed, dirty hotel towels– i like my privacy– like my sign said.
i will be staying at another hotel for the next year– as will my 3 coworkers– they have lost the business of 4 professionals who would have stayed here weekly.
by the way– i brought my issues to the attention of the front desk people when they happened as well as just now with another front desk person on the phone and got nothing even close to an apology– neither did my coworker who also had a really negative experience.
(if i have more energy after packing i will write about my coworker’s negative experience as well).
ps– i saw an older gentleman leading a prostitute (i swear she must have been) down the hallway last night and into his room. what a sight. i triple locked my doors– creepy x 1 000 000 000 000 000 000 000
update:
When I checked out the morning after I wrote this I informed the front desk person (a different woman from the one the night before) that I would be canceling the reservations I had made to stay there for the next few weeks. She canceled them and said ‘oh– I’ll put ‘other’ for ‘reason’ why you are canceling’ — she did not know of my experiences the previous nights… nor did she care to ask– even when she was prompted to by the computer reservations system. yeahhhhhhhhhh… screw you HIE manchester.
