Marriott Fairfield Inn Manchester-Boston Regional Airport

The hotel was clean and organized and check in easy and pleasant. Airport shuttle was excellent for our needs. All the staff were particularly pleasant.
Our bed was in terrible condition. The entire bed was unsteady and moved when one person moved on it. It was also sway backed and sagged in the middle so two people were constantly pushed together. This is certainly the worst hotel bed I have slept on in continental USA. However this was a double (not queen or king) to fit into an accessible room because we requested a tub. The rooms are due for an expected renovation. We did not realize the problem until we were unpacked and tired and in bed. If we had asked, I am certain we could have moved to another room. Their follow up after our stay has been positive.

Clean and great staff! I’ll admit when I arrived I was not excited — it’s an older building that shows its age a little and it’s next to a car dealership — but my room was very clean, the small workout room was spotless and the staff was always cheerful and helpful. The mattress was extremely comfortable and I slept well. The staff here clearly cares about making your stay comfortable and they keep it clean which is really important to me. I spend 80 to 100 days a year travelling it’s clear this staff works hard and does a good job with this property.

If I could do no stars I would-​but that’s not an option on Unilocal.
I stayed here on one night for business with a group of colleagues. None of us will ever stay here ever again.
Issue #1 — My entire right arm broke out after laying in bed for a few minutes. Bugs definitely exist here! Clearly based on another Unilocal user’s review I’m not the only one that had this experience. I changed rooms around midnight. Tiring. The front desk clerk wouldn’t let me bring the expired cortisone cream to my room in fear she would get in trouble… so strange. She did give me a $ 5 Dunken Donut gift card but honestly that didn’t make me feel better about the stay. I was already grossed out.
Issue #2 — When I asked front desk for cortisone cream or something to help me at midnight… I got a product that expired two years ago from their first aid kit.
Issue #3 — I made a terrible mistake and left my jeans in my room. Had to call three times to get a response, only to learn my jeans were not found in the hotel. I guess one could argue my mistake was my fault… but the lack of response made my memory of this stay even worse. So annoying to know I left them there…
My colleagues experienced challenges changing the extremely hot or cold temperature in their rooms.
This business should not be allowed to operate as a Marriott property. It’s deceiving consumers to think their service and standards would be on par with the rest of the chain.

I read the reviews and was a bit hesitant, but every one said it was clean (which is what matters to me). I have to say I found the place to be quite nice, yes it wasn’t the Ritz Carleton, but I was not there for their interior design. The whole place was VERY clean, comfy bed and clean bathroom. A very nice feature is they have a coffee/​hot cocoa bar in the lobby 24 hrs, with flavored syrups, marshmallows and whipped cream! (I went down at 1:30 a. m and got a cup) in the morning my husband went down and enjoyed their complimentary hot FULL breakfast! I stay at hotels at least 3 times a year, in Boston and pay WAY more than $ 124 a night and I can honestly say pros and cons this is probably one of the best places all around I have stayed at! If your looking for fancy then drive by, but if your looking for a clean, customer friendly, great value place to stay this is it!

As others said, this hotel was a little grubbier than I expect when I see Marriott. I get Marriott reward points, so I almost always pick them or an affiliate when choosing a place to stay, and I have to say this one was one of the worst. Not dirty or anything, just dingy. In fact, the room was quite clean, it just made me think of a room at an econo-​lodge or something.
Staff was exceptional. Everyone smiled and was pleasant, including a girl who asked how she could help me while she was still taking off her coat from coming on shift.
Special mention to the woman running the dining room at breakfast (which included a hot continental. MAJOR POINTS!) She was so friendly, I honestly felt like I was in a restaurant. I tried to catch her eye before I left just to thank her for making my morning.
In fact, she would have given this place 4 stars, except a couple more negatives knocked us back to 3.
1) No way to control the heat. The room was a bit chillier than I would have liked, but the baseboard heater was not adjustable
2) Bed was comfy, but pillows were not. I acknowledge that pillow preference is very personal, and maybe most people prefer super thick, springy pillows. I, however, cannot sleep on ‘em. I want my pillows dense and packable! When I build my hotel, guests will get to state what type of pillow they want their rooms furnished with. And you’ll all be invited to my grand opening!
3) There was a guy with a leafblower right outside my window at 8 am. He was there long enough that I took a peek out the window… he was basically blowing the same dozen leaves around. Poorly.
4) The fridge was so insanely loud. I didn’t realize why I kept waking up in the middle of the night, until it finally dawned on me there was a horrible shrieking noise coming from the fridge every time it turned on. Unplugged.
5) See my pic. Now I NEVER make a bedbug accusation (I guess unless I literally see one). Too many people are paranoid about that, and it’s not always bedbugs. BUT. I did not have those 3 bite marks when I went to sleep, and I have had bedbugs before so I know what I’m looking at. The only reason I’m not freaking out is because as soon as I got home I threw all my clothes into my bedbug heater. If I end up with another infestation, however, expect to see an update to this review! (Also, can we just acknowledge that basically every hotel has ‘em at this point, so the onus falls on the consumer a bit to take precautions.)
UPDATE: it’s been one night since my stay, and in that time I have flared up with trios of bites all over my body. I’m hoping fleas instead of bed bugs, bcs if I got bit this many times in one night by bed bugs, then this hotel has a huge problem.

Excellent geographic location. Close to mall, airport, eateries and highway.
Yet, it is by far the most outdated and worst Marriott property I have ever stayed in. Do not be fooled by the name (I typically associate Marriott with quality) or online photos. Drive to the Hooksett Fairfield Inn which is a far better.
My wife had an early flight and the staff would only allow her to take a banana from the already breakfast bar because «it wasn’t time yet.» This is not consistent with the Marriott hospitality I have known for years.

Staff is outstanding, everyone was very accommodating.
However, the room was too hot, above 76.
They explained the air conditioning doesn’t work if outside temp is below a certain temperature. When I as there the outside temp was 63. There is no way to cool a hot room.

Don’t be fooled by the photos online. This is an old, grungy Fairfield Inn. The air in the entire place is stale. The ancient «air conditioner» didn’t keep my room cool despite having it set to very cool. The bathroom was not cleaned well which is a massive problem for me. And there are no outlets near the bed.
They do mobile check in which is why I gave it two stars. That’s always a big plus!

The proximity to the airport is fantastic. The hotel itself is in some serious need of updating. There is also not enough power outlets available in the room.

Very friendly staff. Room was clean and comfortable. Highest recommendations.
Breakfast meal has many varieties, lots of sauces to your spice up. Parking is non crowded and extra space available on the back.

One of my favorite hotels for overnights with work. Located close to the mall and alot of places to eat all within walking distance. Their front desk service is fantastic and the airport shuttle never makes you wait for more than a few minutes.
Their fitness center is small with 2 treadmills an elliptical and some lighter free-​weights. The elliptical is currently broken as one of the legs does not have the same range of motion as the other.
Breakfast hours are 7am-​10am. I wish they would bring the hours to start at at least 6 am for earlier travelers.
All in all a great place. Always comfortable here and always a great nights sleep. Highly recommend for travelers coming through the area.

One of the nicer Fairfields I’ve been in, and I’m a Marriott Frequent Sleeper for many years. Value and consistency for the price and location. That’s what I look for at all Marriott properties. I’ll be back when in the area.

Stayed one night here pre-​flight out.
Walls in the room are paper thin. Heard the guy in the next room talking to family on the phone and it was just like he was in the room with us. Could hear his complete side of the conversation. Just when I got back to sleep, an alarm clock goes off in the other adjacent room. I thought it was ours. When asked at the desk how the room was, I explained the issue and got a «I’m sorry to hear that.» That was the extent of customer service.
I gave it a two star because the room appeared clean, except for the missed pubic hair in the shower, and has a free shuttle to the airport. That was the extent of the positive for our stay. Probably would not stay here again.

This was one of the worst Marriott properties that I have ever stayed in… speaking as a Gold Elite member. The hotel was rundown and the corridors, bathrooms and carpeting smelled like smoke (no I didn’t actually sniff the carpet). The a/​c and heat were from the 1970’s and both my toilet and iron broke in one day. The wifi was fairly quick which was the only saving grace. My shower had hair in it. The breakfast was not even a standard setup and was not good at all (I had a low bar to begin with). I did not complain to the staff because I never intend on staying there again. Limited options in Manchester I know, but try somewhere else.

This is a good hotel for the price. The rate was about $ 90 – 120 per night when I got my booking but I got an extended stay rate for like $ 75 incl tax. I booked thru Kayak so that might have helped…
I unfortunately had to stay for close to 3 weeks, which in any hotel would be a drag. BUT these people have made it pretty nice for me and have kept me happy. The first room I got had a pretty worn out mattress but they promptly switched me to another room the second I mentioned it. That room had an awesome mattress!
They did tell me that they’ll be remodeling the whole hotel in a few months [aug 2014] so everything was near being replaced.
For longer-​than-​a-​night stayers, they also have a pretty clear policy of [not] changing towels unless you don’t hang them up again. Which I like because hotels use [massive] amounts of water and energy to clean towels and linens that haven’t even been used. So, appreciated them doing this.
I like the staff. The maids are pretty quiet since most don’t speak English but the front desk staff are all great, esp Charlotte and Paul. The others were nice too.
Oh they also respected my do-​not-​disturb sign well since it was up ALL the time, which would have sketched me out if I were the manager. But they were nice about it and never asked.

Free wifi, though it’s an open network which sketched me out for stuff like online banking; continental beast is almost never good in a hotel. There’s looked edible but I didn’t have it…
Ok, yea yea, forgot to mention, a mile from major airport, lots of food and shopping within walking distance HOWEVER, in this weather you’d better get a car. Chipotle, Panera, etc.

It’s ok. Has a great breakfast but not what you would expect from a Fairfield. Kind of dirty, but not too bad for the value.

Staying here two nights for work. $ 100/​night, less than a mile from the airport, and very close to a large mall. Free wifi, flat screen tv in room, they put me on the 4^th floor ’cause I’d read thru Unilocal it was noisy in the AM (although I am outta here at 7am so doubtful I will notice).
Drawbacks are that there’s only chain restaurants at the mall nearby, so you have to drive to get a decent glass of wine or meal. Otherwise, perfectly acceptable and safe, plus the guy at the front desk was super nice and talked me through dining options appropriate for taking out a large customer. I will stay here again soon, I’m sure. Also, clean rooms and at least two good places in the room to lay out a yoga mat so they’re rather large. PLUS, the window opened all the way, which never happens in hotels… and after being inside all day traveling and working I love a good breeze at night so this matters to me.

Great customer service, very friendly and helpful staff and the room was clean. It could’ve gotten 5 stars, but my bf had to hang up the shower curtain himself. Odd but I guess it shows they clean them?
Stayed there 2 nights and the location is awesome. Very close to shopping and going out.
The other minus is that it’s very noisy. You can hear everything going on in the hall way and if the curtains are open, it’s as if the windows are open as well. Didn’t bother me though.
Would stay here again if it’s for a few nights.

I do so detest the Marriott chain overall and this amateur establishment did not do anything to dull my disdain. The reason? Aside from taking twelve minutes to check us in, they canceled out reservation without calling. I travel for work and had been camping and was ready for nothing more than shower and bed and ran into this idiots. Stay away!

stayed here a bunch of times for work and overall it’s not a bad place. It’s tucked away behind a busy street and interstate so it’s pretty quiet.
There’s several franchise restaurants and a decent-​sized mall in the area so if you’re here for 1 or 2 nights you should be fine. If you don’t have a car (eg: you’re part of a flight crew, came here by shuttle) the mall can be walkable however I’m sure the complementary shuttle would bring u to and from as needed.
Cons:
I would recommend against staying on the first floor because early in the mornings (5:30am) you’ll hear the sound of luggage wheels rolling on the floor and clicking between the tiles as people exit the lobby.
The house computer in the lobby is ultra slow and frustrating to use. So bring your own laptop, there’s free wi-​fi.
No fitness center however they’ll give u a free pass to gold’s gym downtown and the shuttle will bring u there and back for free.
Pros:

–Free breakfast — it’s the same everyday which got a little boring after staying a week. The have packaged bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches for you to microwave, yogurt, toast, cereal, and a waffle maker to make waffles.
–Outdoor pool — I’ve never used it, it’s usually pretty cold in NH
–Fresh baked cookies after 5:30pm
