Chase Bank

Stellar service. My five year old son accidentally locked himself in our car in their parking lot and the staff here were beyond helpful. Not only did they call the Fire Dept who arrived within a few minutes but they waited outside with me and helped calm both me and my child down. I felt so bad to interrupt their work day but they were so gracious about it. Can’t thank them enough.

Not happy! Stay away! 8 $ charge for cashing $ 150 personal checks by Chase? Robbery! ;((((

Xio is the best helper shes helped both me and my sister on multiple occasions. Jason has also helped they are absolutely kind!

I like this bank for many reasons so I will write about how they helped me to be aware of a check I received for a sofa I was selling on Craigs list. Sure enough it was a scam and the bank was on it and told me what I needed to do. Not all chase banks are like this.

I like coming here because this bank location is great. They greet you when you walk in. The tellers are helpful and make sure I am up to date in hearing about all their bank changes or upgrades.
I like that I don’t have to ever wait in line for too long.
One of the tellers there took the time to help me on the chase bank app. She helped me in showing my how to use it and do different transactions.
Location is clean and safe.

5 stars only to Scott Jory.
I’m super neurotic and he answers all my craziness with a smile and patience, every time. He calls you back really quickly and never leaves you hanging, no matter how dumb the question and believe me I have a lot. When I told him I was sorry for constantly bugging him, he said something like, «that’s what I’m here for and I wouldn’t have a job without all your questions» I’ve worked with him for maybe a year. He is trustworthy which is so important and so hard to find in a bank. I would definitely recommend this bank ONLY because of Scott Jory!
If he ever changes banks, do yourself a favor and go there.

I can’t say enough good things about Scott Jory. As a young college student with a limited knowledge of credit, I first sat down with Scott to request his help in building up a reputable credit score. Since our first meeting last year, my score has improved significantly, and I have become better informed on how to manage it. Not only is he knowledgeable in the credit field, but Scott has a way of developing your trust. There is a reason why I have continued to use Scott as my personal banker even though he transferred branch locations. He has a great way of building relationships with Chase members, like myself, and is always checking in to make sure that everything is going okay. Overall, I could not be happier with the service I received from Scott.

Its amazing how far good customer service can go. During the roughest financial period of my life, i had a terrible week completely turned around by the actions of Scott Jory. Upon receiving a letter from a collection agency about a charge that i had already paid, calling Chase just had me rerouted to 5 different people. I entered the branch irritated, pissed off, and ready to cut somebodies head off. Scott sat me down and made NUMEROUS phone calls on my behalf, to get to the bottom of my issue. I didn’t even have an appointment to see him. Solved the issue i was having, all the while being incredibly personable, friendly, and professional. Having worked for Apple Retail, i understand and greatly value the impact of good customer interaction. Scott went above and beyond to solve my issue. Not because he had some bonus or commission incentive to help me, simply because he empathized with me, was able to relate to my situation, and wanted to help. I will keep coming back to this branch and continue to bank with Chase due to the awesome experience i had today. Thanks Scott! You’re the man.

Love Chase… No B of A ever AGAIN!

Chase is the Worst for Customer Service! I had WAMU for over 15 years for both business, checking and savings. No problems for the most part. Chase took over and while I did like the new ATM features like receipts with pictures of your checks I will NEVER bank with Chase or do any business with them again. They informed me by letter that I would be charged a monthly fee if my balance was not at least 5k to 15k depending on the account. (Free accounts from WAMU BTW). I said then close them. The manager told me to just wait it out and don’t but anymore money in that they would be closed automatically in 2 months with no activity. They each had like less than $ 20 bucks in them I think. (I did not really want to have to close these since one was my business account but I think those charges are ridiculous and the «nickel and diming» is why I left Wells Fargo after 8 years). They also sent me a letter asking if I wanted overdraft ($ 39 per each transaction) I opted out of that and thought I was safe. 3 months later I get double charged for a Paypal transaction that goes to the CHASE account (2x) and it’s for like $ 68 bucks. They put it through and tacked on the $ 39×2. I go in to pay it and the account person says: It’s fine your account is closed we can’t reverse the charges since your account is closed. In the meantime PayPal reversed the charges all except the fees from CHASE so it’s now pulled out of my other bank but not put back to CHASE as they won’t take it. 4 months later I get a letter from Chase saying $ 191 has gone to collection. I call Chase and they say now it’s gone to Chex Systems. I have never even bounced a check and they sent me to Chex Systems. I finally get a hold of the Financial Recovery Services which is really just another division of CHASE and they say if I pay it now they will send me an e-​mail and a letter to get it removed from Chex Systems. (Should I even be paying this? Not in my opinion but I did). I pay right then on the phone on a Thursday. I call the following Weds to the name and number I was given and guess what? No such person works there and no one knows what I am talking about. They said they don’t deal with Chex Systems that is my problem. I go into CHASE to speak with the manager for 4^th time and it’s been a different person each time BTW. I am told that the accounts are closed and they can do nothing and they are sorry but too bad basically. I mentioned that they were not allowed to put those payments through in the first place (Since what is on Chex Systems is now FEES since I paid the original bill and Paypal reversed it and sent it to my main bank as of now). I was told that they can still put payments through and charge the crazy overdraft fees as long as you use ACTH (sp?) and not your Debit ATM card. Like we all know that??? Then I get another letter 2 weeks later saying that I now owe a $ 25 fee on my personal account since my balance is too low and an overdraft fee on the $ 25 dollars. Are you kidding me? I go into the bank again and I am livid. I am told the NEW (again a new manager) manager is on vacation. The Assistant manager helps me and does close the account and remove those fees. I was told the entire time that they could not fix this because my accounts were closed. This is the most messed up bank on the planet. And they are buying up everything. Do yourself a favor and don’t get involved in CHASE. They are crooks. Really a $ 15K balance in a recession? I now use a small local bank and they know my name, treat me well and they are worth any charges or fees I might incur. I’m over the behemoth banks. Wasn’t the government charity enough? You have to screw us over too? Small business owners deserve better treatment. My one saving grace is that I was not sure I wanted to be involved with Chase after WAMU shut down so I stopped depositing to them and put everything into my other bank until the dust settled. So glad I did. This could have been much worse. Still fighting with Chex Systems. Apparently it stays on for years although it will say paid I am told. Who knows. I give CHASE a negative 4 stars for poor service and greediness.

I enjoyed revisiting this location passing through. However, it’s not my norm branch. I very much like the renovation of the teller set up. Prior it was completely open with tellers stationed throughout the floor without an incasing bulletproof glass. This was very welcoming, yet a bid odd to be so open as a customer and I am sure as a teller too. Now, they have remodeled where it looks like the standard branches. But they still have no bulletproof glass. I prefer it that way. It makes it more personable versus cold. The times I have visited this branch their is little to no wait.

I got a love hate thing going on with Chase. They totally screwed me on credit card uping my rate to 29.9 for no dam reason. But then were the only bank to give me a car loan? Who can understand Im not worthy of a $ 5k credit card but a $ 50k car loan I’m ok?

Tons of parking and proximity to a Coffee Bean and Tutti Frutti frozen yogurt make this location a winner. There’s never a wait and they are helpful for everyday banking as well as opening checking accounts, business checking, etc. and they have free checking. Never pay for something you can get free!

Remember the days when you had to try and make it to the bank on a Friday before 5pm and wait in a really long line with the disgruntled working (middle) class to deposit your check? That seems like ancient history now with options like direct deposit and the new Chase iPhone app where you can deposit checks via photo… But on those extremely rare occasions where I do find myself at a Chase bank, the Manhattan Beach location on the corner of Sepulveda & Gould is where I prefer to go. It’s next door to Bally Total Fitness where I work out and it’s less than a mile from my house, which is convenient. The inside is gorgeous with high ceilings and an open airy layout… and you can now deposit checks via their ATM. I really wish the staff was a little more welcoming but we can’t have everything I suppose.
