My practice is a full scope general dental practice specializing in cosmetic dentistry and Invisalign. We are able to provide most, if not all, dental services, including: fillings, veneers, Invisalign, dental implants, crowns and bridges, dentures, emergencies, root canals, and extractions.

History

Established in 2011.

Dr. Alex Gause has been practicing in New York City since 2011. At that time he joined Smile Design Manhattan, a practice established by his brother Dr. Lee Gause in 2008, and located at 24 W 57th St in the heart of midtown Manhattan. Dr. Gause also practices 1 day a week at the offices of CitiDent, located in the Bronx at the intersection of 182nd St. and Grand Concourse.

Dr. Alex Gause is a general dentist residing and practicing in New York City. Dr. Gause attended dental school at the University of North Carolina, and completed his training in a residency program at Kings County Hospital in New York. He maintains a full scope practice in Manhattan, including but not limited to cosmetic dentistry, dental implants, and Invisalign. In addition to private practice, Dr. Gause provides a significant amount of charitable work to the New York community and has been on service trips to Africa and Haiti. He is a member of the American Dental Association and the National Dental Association.

This was hands down the best experience I’ve ever had at the dentist. Yes dentistry can be expensive but it is worth every cent to do it right. I had pain for three months from a botched crown done by a bad dentist and Dr. Gause came in off the clock on a crazy Sunday during the ny marathon and relieved my pain temporality after scheduling an emergency root canal the next day! He fit me in and made it work! He also has a vast array of payment options including several methods of financing. He offers assistance through SAG, AFTRA and EQUITY! This was the most relaxing, pain free root canal experience anyone could have ever had. His staff from the front desk to his assistant were amazing. His use of technology is exceptional! He stepped me through his assessment of the problem on a big screen after taking x-​rays. He treated my tooth like it was a work of art… meticulous perfection, concentration and my future comfort was of utmost importance to him. I’m never going to another dentist. Never been happier :)

This is the first time I’ve had a dentist that doesnt make me dread going to see him. Friendly guy with friendly staff, clean office, short wait times. And it actually feels like he’s trying to do what’s best for his clients and not just his wallet. Don’t know how to quantify that, but it’s refreshing and leaves me with a good taste in my mouth :-)

Great experience with Dr. Gause and his professional staff. The offices are clean and welcoming and the staff was friendly and took me in right on time. Like most people, I don’t look forward to visits to the dentist but, thanks to Dr. Gause and his staff, I won’t dread it like I used to. Highly recommended!

To keep it short and simple, amazing. Lovely clean office. Wonderful customer service. Great dentists. Best teeth cleaning I’ve ever had. Painless. Went there with $ 50 groupon and I was still treated like a normal customer. I love that.

Drs. Alex & Lee Gause are THEE bestest ever… their staff are the friendliest people I have ever met. my mouth is NOT in the greatest condition at this present time. but I was made to feel like a million bucks with a $ 10.00 mouth. They are kind and extremely courteous. I call it the pretty people office, because everyone in there is beautifu with their pretty smiles.l.I just had a cleaning and it felt like I had a new mouth. not to mention the work has not begun as yet. I will also have a pretty smile when Im finished. they are expensive. but I feel like I am worth every penny… hats off to everyone in that office. I love you guys!!!

The cleaning was great. I have been to many dentists in the city and they really left my teeth feeling cleaner than they have at any of the others. What left a sour taste in my mouth was how much they charged for other services. Doctor said X-​rays showed eleven cavities that the doctor said needed to be taken care of. ELEVEN. The receptionist worked up a schedule for how much they’d cost. They wanted 500 dollars for a composite filling. FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS for one filling. I get that we’re in Manhattan but sweet mother of god that’s outrageously over priced. I felt it was a bit of a bait and switch. Get you in with the Groupon then if anything else needs to be done try and get your money that way. I’d also never heard the word root canal bandied about so much in an office. All that said, the cleaning was excellent.
After regaining my health insurance I returned to my regular dentist and after a cleaning and X-​rays he said everything looked good… ZERO cavities.

I just want to reiterate what a FANTASTIC Dentist Dr. Gause is and what a great practice and team they have. I have had so many teeth troubles over the years and I can’t imagine ever trusting or going to anyone else! They are caring, conscientious, knowledgeable, helpful with insurance matters, play great music, the office is gorgeous! I recommend him to all my friends and family. I hope he never leaves NYC!

Really grateful that they offer Groupon for the dental cleaning and x-​ray. It is tough living in NY without affordable health insurance. Dr. Alex and his staff are super friendly and very professional. Thank you so much! If I have health insurance he would be my permanent dentist.

I actually have to edit my review. I moved away from the city and just visited another dentist who has discovered that I have an infection caused by the on lay that doctor Gause did. It’s been almost a year since I’ve had the onlay done, so you can imagine how serious its become. I remember mentioning about a possible infection to him before our last appointment and he said that there wasn’t.
Nice guy, I just am not sure if it was worth getting the onlay done at this point.

I went to see Dr. Alex Gause for the first time last week and I must say that the experience was great. From the moment I walked into his office I felt like he truly cared about me as a patient and not just another appointment he had that day. Growing up I had the same family dentist for 18 years so I have a really high standards when it comes to my dentist and I will say for sure Dr. Alex Gause measures up. He sat with me and answered all of my questions he did not rush me out. You can tell by the way he practices medicine that he really cares for his patients and their dental needs. And to make things better a week later he checked in with me to make sure that everything was great with my teeth. I highly recommend Dr. Alex Gause if you don’t already have a dentist in New York and even if you do have one I would recommend changing.

I’ve found a new dentist and I’m never going anywhere else! Very courteous and professional care, an absolutely SPOTLESS office (literally the cleanest dentist’s office I’ve ever seen), convenient location, and my insurance covered the appointment 100%. What more can I say?
